How do i get rid of a bad stye on my eye, in less than a couple of hours?

A stye is an infection of the hair follicle of an eyelash. The hair follicle is the small pit that the eyelash grows out of. It is a sore similar to a boil or a pimple the forms on the edge of the eyelid. The eyelid may become swollen and sore. Styes usually develop and then come to a head in three to seven days, then burst and heal on their own, in most cases. They will fill with pus then burst spontaneously. A chalazion can sometimes be mistaken for a stye. A chalazion is a lump on the eyelid that is not caused by bacteria, but caused by a blocked mucous gland under the eye. These are painless swellings, whereas a stye, which is caused by a bacterial infection, is fairly painful.
styes can be treated at home by applying a very warm / hot, wet, clean wash cloth to the tender area, making sure it is not hot enough to scald. An ideal method is to use a spoon with the cloth wrapped around and apply the convex side to the affected part. This moist heat application should be done about four times a day, for about ten minutes at each treamtent. This will aid in the supporation of the stye. Supporation is the forming of a head on an infection. The leukocytes (or white blood cells), travel to the infection to fight it. The heat from the warm, moist compresses speeds up the leukocytes' travel, thus fascilitating the forming of the head on the stye. Once the stye ruptures, the pressure is relieved and the pain and swelling subsides. Never put your fingers in your eye. Your hands are full of germs. If you see a doctor, he may prescribe some antibiotic cream for the stye, if the infection has reached an un-manageable size. There are also over the counter topical medications for the stye, which are mostly made up of petroleum jelly and other emollients to keep the eye moisturized. Non-prescription products, however, can not treat the infection associated with a sty, but can get temporary relief of its symptoms, including burning, stinging and itching. Rarely styes require lancing by a doctor. You will not be able to clear this infection in two hours, unfortunately.

Cold water on eye stye or hot water?

I've had millions of styes before, so to get rid of them you should put warm compressors on it. If you have rice, put some of it in a paper towel. Then, put the little thing into the micro-oven and heat it for 30 second then put it on your stye. Do this several times a day especially when you are about to go to bed. This is the fastest way to get rid of that stye. Also to keep it from coming back, wash your face daily with warm water and Johnson's Baby Shampoo. Hope this helps.

How long will my eye stye last?

So wednesday my left eye was perfectly normal but in the afternoon my upper eyelid started to feel weird, when i touch it, it would hurt, even when i blinked. I though it was nothing so i just ignored it. I went to bed the next morning on thursday i woke up with my left eye swollen it hurted soo bad. i had a bump on my upper eyelid. so i told my mom she said i didn't have to go to school because my eye looked really bad so my mom called and asked for a doctors appointment. my doctor told me it was stye so she gave me eye drops and these pills. the eye drops are for my stye to go away, the pills was for the pain. Today is friday i woke up my eye was still swollen but not too bad i went to school, my eye feels sooo much better. i feel no pain at all since i took my pills, how long do you think my eye stye will last? i want it gone ASAP! i don't want my stye by monday, i cant wear makeup till my eye heals.

How to get rid of a stye eye really fast?

Each of the oil glands, called Meibomian glands, produces oil which flows out of the gland into the tears. The oil exits from each gland through a tiny circular opening just behind the eyelashes of the upper and lower lids. A chalazion (persistent STYE) is caused by the oil in the gland becoming too thick to flow out of the gland or the opening of the gland being obstructed. Without anywhere to go, the oil builds up inside the gland and forms a lump in the eyelid. The gland wall may break, releasing the oil into the tissue of the eyelid, causing inflammation and sometimes scar tissue.

Warm compress: I find this to be a) the most often medically recommended and b) most reliable method of prevention. If you do a good warm compress every day for 10 or 15 minutes, you probably won't get a chalazion ever again. If you can't manage daily compresses, then at least watch out for those warning twinges, and the moment you think you might be starting to get a chalazion -- before the swelling even starts -- do a couple of compresses in the same day. If the swelling has already started, make the compresses longer, and do them as often as you can. Sometimes, you can head off a chalazion in these early stages with frequent warm compresses. (More details on warm compresses below, with lots of how-to info.)

Johnson's Baby Shampoo: This might sound ridiculously simple, but just washing your eyes a couple times every day with no-tears soap can do wonders. Kinda like washing your face to avoid zits ... it gets rid of the surface bacteria. And, really, how hard would it be to add this to your daily washing habits? It takes about a minute.

Antibiotic ointment: If you've got really persistent chalazions -- or you have an important event coming up, like your wedding -- you might consider asking your doctor to prescribe short-term use of an antibiotic ointment. You just squeeze a little bit of this slimy stuff into each eye before bed each night, and it seems (in my experience) to completely prevent chalazions from occurring.

If a large chalazion or stye does not heal after other treatments or if it affects your vision, your Eye M.D. may need to drain it in surgery. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia in your ophthalmologist's office. see...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlaeh8CBJ...

Should I go to a job interview with an eye stye?

Sorry I saw this too late. How did the interview go?Next time put a warm compress on it for as long as you can (10-15 mins multiple times per day). It needs to stay warm so use a microwaveable hot pack but don't make it too hot to hold otherwise you will have a burn on your face. It will open up the gland and let the secretions out without causing lots of inflammation (like what happens when you pop a pimple) because it will open a natural opening. This does not necessarily work in one day but it is worth a shot. This is for informational purposes only and not to be considered professional medical advice. Go see a doctor for all medical issues.
