How Can A Teenager Get A Job

How can a teenager (17) get a job with no experience?

Kudos to you for wanting to start earning money and be independent.  Keep applying.Everyone starts their first job with no work experience. By definition, your first paying job is your first paying job. So everyone deals with the challenge of getting a first job with no work experience. You are starting at the right places - fast food joints are great starting jobs. It is a bit surprising that the first five places you applied turned you down. Did they say why?  You need to find out why you were turned down.Unless those fast food places are unusual, they should be constantly hiring. If you got turned down five times, you need to understand why. This means you have to do an objective assessment of your application and interviewing process. If you cannot be objective, find someone who can. If you ask mommy and daddy - they will ignore your faults and say you are perfect and should get the job. Ask someone who can give you an unbiased assessment of your personality. Do a mock interview with a teacher or other adult and ask them for candid feedback. If you are doing something wrong, you need to know about it and fix it. Nothing to be ashamed of - you are new to the job market and you just need to learn how to navigate these strange waters.

How can I get a job as teenager in Cairo, Egypt?

I would like to earn some 'quick' cash in short period of time to be able to get myself some additional stuff. However, I don't want to get a bad job in lame clothes stores or whatever because I prefer fancy companies and shops that would match my social level. I heard that there are chances for teenagers to work in Virgin Mega Store, but I am not entirely sure, so I would appreciate it If someone confirms it.

Also I thought about applying for TE-DATA customer service and I checked the official website to see If there are available jobs. But according to one of their agents, I have to be graduated to be able to APPLY for a job in their company. The main problem is, I am 16 years old and about to turn into 17 on November. At least I finally created my own identification card.

I'm also a little bit into computer and stuff like that but I am not qualified to create websites or sell products on the internet and I wouldn't mind to get trained in order to work and get paid well. And please don't suggest me to try to those fake website that offer 'money' for typing opinions about their products or websites.

Just in case someone asks for my abilities, I'd be glad to add them to my question.

EDIT: I don't like jobs such as babysitting, cut the lawns or wash cars since there are meant to be for poor people, besides they're really lame and shameful.

Is getting a job worth it as a teenager?

Congrats on your first job. I’d imagine it’s the first of a long line of jobs you may get in the future, and the experience you earn there will serve you over time. As far as whether or not you keep this job, consider this:Job Pros:Money — car, dates, clothes, college, games, etc. Money is good. Greed is good.Client interaction — all your life, you’ll have to interact with clients. This is a good time to learn how to do that in a (hopefully) low pressure, low stress way.Manage expectations — your boss will require certain things of you, but you will have a different set of priorities. Here you will practice how to tell your boss you will be hanging out with your friends instead of coming in for the double shift, but do so in a tactful and fair way. There’s a difference between “Sorry dude, no can do.” and “Yes, I hear your request and I wish I could help. Unfortunately, I can’t at this time. Could you give me at least 24 hrs notice in the future?”Real world dynamics — you may currently be judged on effort or attempts. Your future world, as Yoda knows so well, is judged as follows: “Do or do not. There is no try.” Your boss will judge you based on what benefit you can bring to him, not how hard you try.Job Cons:Cannot be in clubs at schoolPossibly unfulfilling or unstimulating. The importance of your high school clubs will have to be a priority of your own choosing, but honestly, I regret spending time in clubs in high school. I was in student government, Science bowl, band and debate. None of that really has any bearing on my life today, while the research skills I learned while interning at a local university’s research lab were far more important. Ask yourself this: what is the substance of the being in those clubs, aside from social interaction? Did you learn something you could not have otherwise learned? Did you do something you could not have otherwise done? Therein lies your marginal return on your time. Your marginal cost is not have the job and all the benefits from it.I would recommend take the money. Always take the money.

How can a teenager get a job in Dublin, Ireland?

Part time jobs are avaialble and you need to travel from shop to shop and keep on distributing your resume so keep it handy. You can also look on irish job website and keep posting your resume for the jobs like reception based role in a hotel or working in jack and jones shop or working in a printing press or you can be a teacher if you have teaching skills. There are lots of opportunity but all you need is to get out of your bed early in the morning evwn before the sun shine in the sky and you need to keep chasing for the job. Make this as your priority and keep all the other stuffs behind. All the best

[TEEN] Job references?

This is the most common question people have applying for jobs. You need 3 professional references. You might also be asked for 1-3 personal references, which is easy because those are just for character questions.

First, think of any people who you've worked with even if it was unpaid, like baby-sitting, pet-sitting, housecleaning, etc.. Think about people who know you in a professional setting, like teachers, counselors, sports coaches, principle, religious leaders (don't bring up religion in the interview or at the job, but it is valid to use a reverend, rabi, etc as a personal reference).

Lastly, think of friends or family members who don't share the same last name. Did you help your friend's mom collect donations for a charity? Did you help your uncle organizing a garage sale? Those are examples of what someone can say you showed commitment and hard work doing.

The mistake people make is that they don't build and keep professional relationships then they try to use family members or friends out of desperation when they are interviewing for jobs. So, keep in contact with people at school, volunteer jobs, and old jobs.

When you have a list of people you think are good references, call them and ask if you can give their contact info to an employer. Tell them the types of jobs you are applying for so they are prepared for the questions.

Good luck! Hope your next job rocks!

How can a teenager get her first voice acting jobs?

Thanks for the A2A!Here’s an answer I wrote for a similar question not too long ago:To be honest, the way to get into voice acting when you’re a teen is essentially the same as if you’re an adult. The only difference is that you’re also gonna be dependent on an adult in your life to help give you the resources (time, money, rides) to get started. If you want to get started, the best way to do so is to get training with a professional. While it’s definitely possible to self-start, it would be very helpful to work with a voice coach who is familiar with what it takes to succeed, knows how to build up your VO skills, and teach you how to navigate the industry. From there on, it’s a matter of practicing your craft, building a solid demo reel, networking, and hustling to get jobs. For more advice, check this out: Voiceover Training 101Hope this helps!

How can a teenager with no work experience get a job?

It's an obvious question I know, but I'm finding it rather difficult to acquire employment. I'm 17 years old, NO WORK EXPERIENCE (I know that's 99% of the reason), in college, and still living with my parents. I need to find a source of income. Having to depend on my Mom and Dad to buy me things is getting old. I've been applying everywhere that seems appealing for teenage jobs (grocery stores, fast food restaurants, gas stations, game stores, etc) for the last year and have not gotten one call for an interview. What am I doing wrong? I have no piercings, no tattoos. It's like a catch-22, you need work experience to get work experience. I've applied at most of these places several times (filled out 5+ applications)... What else can I do?!?!
