How Can Christians Claim Their Religion Is Good If Its History Is Filled With Bloody Atrocities

How can I deal with Christians who defend God's atrocities in the Old Testament?

#1. Seek first to understand. Realize that what you are qualifying as “God's atrocities” are viewed by Christians as “God's Sovereign righteous judgements.” Find out exactly why you view these events as “God's atrocities” while Christians view them as God’s strict dire “righteous judgements.”#2. Don't parrot any skepticism off the skepticism of others. Be original. I can usually tell when a skeptic is just echoing the skepticism of others, and often I know who exactly they are parrotting. In other words, disbelief is fine as long as your disbelief is completely independent and not based on a book you read one time.#3. Make sure you are agreeing on the definition of “God.” Actually, you should understand that it is foul and ignorantly stupid to throw the Atheistic definition of God as “magical sky wizard” in the middle of the conversation. It ought to be assumed that you are discussing an eternal immanent, transcendental metaphysical Divine Spirit being who preserves all things, as THAT is the definition of the type of God Christians ACTUALLY believe in.#4 Realize in the Christian Worldview there is an afterlife. Repeat this sentence “In the Christian Worldview there is a concept of an afterlife, and in their religion God's ultimate concern is the next life, not this life.” 112 times each day for the next year, so that it sinks in. No, I am serious. This will help your relationship with Christians tremendously, if you can get that stuck in your head.#5. Realize that the Judeo-Christian God is veiwed as holy. As holy, God can neither tolerate the actual sin or evil committed, NOR the results and consequences of that sin forever. This is what Richard Dawkins intentionally rejects. Genesis 6:5 is a contextually necessary verse that Dawkins apparently intentionally omits. Why? He doesn't want to vindicate God. But once we see that God floods the earth because wickedness was widespread on the earth, we can understand a holy God that cannot tolerate sin nor the results or consequences of sin forever. Further, Dawkins seems to intentionally forget about the afterlife. Are you forgetting about the afterlife as you read the Old Testament? Do you remember that according to the correct understanding of Judeo-Christianity that in that Worldview these souls are going to another place?

How do you feel about the Christianification of Europe during the Middle Ages?

answer: Not overly fond of it, myself.

Who started the war between Muslims and Christians?

I'm refering to the Crusades time. Everytime I speak against Muslims on the basis of terrorism, they respond back and say 'Crusades' etc. I know the Crusades was in response to the stolen lands from Muslims, but who (in general) started it?

Why do Christians blame atheist?

For example. According to Christians hitler was an atheist. However he was catholic, an active catholic. His death camps where funded by the Catholic Church, and even had priests working in the camps. Now I will admit there are quite a few who are not Christian, but only about 1% of people in history that have been committed mass murder where atheist. But almost all the people who have hurt and slaughtered almost all the people in history worship the same god. The bible, kuran, and turan. Different books with the same god just called different names. Religion, or at least single god worshiping religion is the cause for almost all the worlds death. Why do Christians think its atheists who are responsible?

And just to be clear I am not even an atheist and I see it
