How Can Directing Be Done When It Comes To Business Management Of A Restaurant

Retail management vs. Restaurant management. HOW DO I DECIDE?

Your communications background will make a strong basis for either career. Restaurant management is much more dynamic than retail. Either way you are stuck in one place for long hours. At the restaurant there is more excitement. The days pass by more quickly. In retail, you have to "look busy" when no one is in the store ( even the manager). In a restaurant you won't ever have to worry about that. There is always something to do.
Pay is the same. Not high.

I've worked at a few restaurants who do this, but in a different way.The restaurants I have worked for told me from my first interview that my base salary comes out of my tips. I was shocked. What's that supposed to mean?! I'm working hours, and you need to pay me for them.Well, not really, at least where I live (Israel). In Israel, as I found out, almost all restaurants pay waiters and waitresses from their tips. In other words, if my base salary (minimum) is 29.12 shekels an hour ($7.94), and I make 300 shekels (≈$81) throughout my 8 hour shift, the restaurant will only give me that 300₪ because it's above the minimum salary they needed to pay me.If for example, I only make 150₪ (≈$40) in a specific shift, they'll take that 150 and add enough to it to bring me up to the minimum wage.It sucks. It really sucks, but you learn to deal with it and move on. It actually motivates lesser waiters to be kinder and more helpful to customers in order to try and get a bigger tip, but that doesn't help you if you're already doing the best you can.In this case, the restaurant isn't really taking a share from my tips, but it isn't paying me wages for my time either. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.Hope I could help

Can I patent a unique Restaurant business idea? help please?

hi, so i believe, i have a reallyreally unique idea that could be a big hit in the restaurant business. i was wondering if i could patent this idea so no other person could copy my idea and go make a business of their own like mine.

its kind of an idea of how the customer comes in the restaurant and gets food. ok this is one of my ideas can a person patent this?(well.. i just found out theres a business like this already) but, would i be able to copy it if i wanted to?

so basically the customer comes in and theres a vending machine looking thing its hugee. and there's many pictures of foods, like a hamburger, a hot dog, pizza, chicken fingers, fries, chicken alfredo, theres pictures of these, and its like a vending machine. the person clicks which one they want, like for example: they click the chicken alfredo picture, and enter the money into the vending machine. then behind the vending machine sorta theres a staff of cooks that make your food fresh and fast, once the foods prepared they open their window side of the vending machine and put your food in, then you open your side of the window and get your food fresh and fast n fun.

would i be able to copy this? can a idea like that be patent so noone can copy ya? the way foods made fresh in the back, and put into your window then ya open the vending machine sorta.

I don’t handle them. I don’t want them. That Assistant Manger should be working in a cubicle in a high rise building somewhere.Restaurants function well when people talk to each other… A LOT.10% of running a restaurant as an Assistant Manager is administrative. The GM or the owner takes care of most of the administrative duties. The other 90% is managing people.Managers need to constantly be communicating with the staff and course correcting a lot. We have this thing we do called “See it say it” behavior which means, if you see someone doing something incorrectly, you say something immediately and correct the behavior. You can’t run a successful restaurant as an Assistant Manager if you aren’t constantly looking for opportunities to coach behaviors.

A Restaurant Business Plan acts as a guideline, a roadmap for the future development of your restaurant business. It is the blueprint of operating your restaurant. You can serve better once you know about who you serve. The Industry Analysis primarily consists of Location Analysis, Target Audience Analysis, and Competition Analysis.SWOT Analysis: Doing a SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threats) Analysis must be included in your Restaurant Business Plan as it helps you identify internal and external factors that would impact the restaurant’s future.Operations Plan: The Operations Plan is an integral part of your Restaurant Business Plan as it includes how the restaurant would function in the daily operations. It includes Staff Management, Customer Service etc.Financial Analysis: The most important point to remember when it comes to the step of finance is to be realistic. You should have a personal financial statement and balance sheet in place, with the regular cash flow statement. The owner should be aware of all the cash inflows and outflows and should carefully keep a track.Marketing Plan: The F&B space is getting competitive day by day. Therefore, another important step while writing a restaurant business plan is marketing. You should have a clear picture of your market strategy beforehand. What does a business manager do and is it a job PLEASE HELP?

I'll try to explain this as simple as I can.

Option 1- You can work for a chain restaurant with hopes to become a manager or assistant with no education. You'll probably on make $500 a week give or take. Could take several years.

Option 2- You can go to a community college for business management but you will find yourself only doing low-end retail, chain stores, restaurants... etc. You would probably only make (depending on your area) $30,000-45,000.

Option 3- If you get a 4 year or more degree in business management at a university you have the option to go farther. You could be managing high end retail (macys) and higher end companies like Fidelity, Liberty Mutual... etc. You would also maybe not be the direct manager but you would be a manager of a department. $50,000- up
