How Can I Answer To Another Y Answers User

Why am I unable to post or answer any questions on Yahoo Answers?

Clearly, you have upset a Yahoo! god and they are firing you from Yahoo! Answers.I used to work for Yahoo! Answers a decade ago and I used to spend a lot of time asnwering a lot of questions and the company was extremely happy with my work.In fact, they send me a Yahoo! Answers jacket to my home.I still have it.A few years later I was one of the most popular writers on Yahoo! Answers and the founder and CEO of Yahoo! at the time David Filo himself send me a letter with his signature and everything congratulating me for my hard work.I still have this letter.A decade ago, a letter signed by a billionaire was a huge deal for me.Now, I get job offers from billionaires, almost each month and I almost always decline them.I still want to work for Elon Musk, Adam D’Angelo, Max Levchin, Peter Thiel, Luke Nosek and Ken Howery, thought. One day, all of a sudden my Yahoo! Answers account was blocked for unknown reasons.I tried to open a new account and this worked for a little while but eventually my account was blocked again.I tried to open a new account and this worked again for a little while but eventually my account was blocked again. After that, I simply stopped trying and evolved into something else.I was extremely dissapointed by all this and I could not fully understand why they were blocking my accounts.Obviously I was younger and dumber a decade ago.It turns out a billionaire got upset about some of my answers and he simply bribed Yahoo! and they fired me.I was bringing a lot of eyesballs to Yahoo! Answers a decade ago.I was answering questions for them for free, you know.Maybe Yahoo! would still be profitable today if they hired me as a regular employee back then.We will never know.It appears that you are in exactly the same situation I was a decade ago.Just forget about Yahoo! Answers and focus exclusively on Quora. They are losing money for a reason, you know.I suspect they regret firing me from Yahoo! Answers a decade ago.Ironically, I am currently one of the MOST VIEWED WRITERS on the Yahoo! (Company) category right now here on Quora.Welcome to Quora.I think you will enjoy this chapter in your life.

Why are my answers not appearing to other Yahoo Answer users? My comments and questions do, but not my answers. Have I been shadowbanned?

Click on my user profile. Check under "Answers." You can see my answers to different questions there, but if you follow the link to the question page and look for my answer you will not find it. This goes as far back as I can find. *I* can see my answers on the page, but no one else can...it's like they're not there.

Have I been shadowbanned? What rules did I break? Is this because I had to fight to keep my questions in the correct category when Level 7's try to move them out to prevent them from being seen (I'm talking, multiple moves of the same question even after I edit the question to make it clear where I want it)? Is that against the rules, to violate where a Level 7 user puts my questions? Or is it something else?

How do i report underage user on yahoo answers?

Press the Report this button and let yahoo deal with the situation because they are lying or prepatrating as someone/thing else. They registed with Yahoo and stated their birth date and saying something else on the site.

Another factor they could be part of a family account.

two-two has spoken.

How can I use different fonts whan asking or answering questions?

You can not change the font using Y! Answers. You can enter characters like the ones you mentioned if you have a character map on your computer or by cutting and pasting from elsewhere.

Is Quora just a glorified Yahoo! Answers?

Sure, in the sense that a Tesla is just a glorified golf cart.  At the most basic level, they both work on the same principle, but one has design, functionality, capability and even looks that's far beyond the other.   The problem here is that you have two competing definitions of the word "glorified".  It can mean something that's given glory for no good reason, or it can mean something that's been made glorious.  If you mean the first, then no, Quora isn't given glory for no good reason.  It's far more prestigious because it has a great deal more to offer.  The differences between the sites may be subtle (some are, and some aren't) but they cumulatively make a huge difference in the user experience (at least, they did in my case). If you're using the second definition, then the answer is yes.  Quora took the basic concept behind Yahoo Answers and they made it into something glorious.  And good for them.

What is the history of the Yahoo! Answers Hamster?

To add to MonkeyMini's great answer, when YA had just started, last December, they did not have their current "smilie" logo. The avatar they used in their blog and here at YA during those first Beta days was a photograph of a Hamster, who was adopted as mascot and began to be known as the Karate Hamster, Ninja Hamster, Kung Fu Hamster, or Yamster (and extensively, the members of the YA Team are also the YAmsTers). This was a real toy that sings and dances or something like that.
The original Yamster:

In those "old days" the users were relatively few, and we sort of knew each other. The Hamster was widely commented at the YAT blog and the forum.
The competition mascot, Frank the Frankfurter, was the creation of one of those first users, cblrdy. Cblrdy took all the opportunities he could to publicize Frank (with the aid of other users who used to add the "Vote for Frank!" phrase to their answers):

Unfortunately, the poor sausage died an untimely death at the hands of a dog (LOL).

Here's the original Frank Saga, by cblrdy:

Meanwhile, our beloved original Karate Hamster was thriving, until one unfortunate day when some forgotten user asked about the insignificant issue of the mascot's copyright. Shortly afterwards, the original Yamster was spirited away and the green smilies appeared. The Team members told us that it was time to acquire a more "professional" avatar, as they were progressing toward the end of the beta phase.
Some time later, the new, Yahoo-copyrighted, cartoon Yamster made its debut.

This new, stylized version has different attires and expressions (such as the Oops! Yamster that appeared during the huge YA downtime event). Another YA user, Liz, made additional versions of the Yamster (such as the punk yamster, the glam yamster, etc). Although the original forum thread seems to have been deleted :-( and Liz hasn't been around for a while, these are her Yamster versions:

I'm sure more of the "veterans" will have stories to share :-)
It's been nice *sigh*... but I feel old now :-P

Why do people prefer Quora over Yahoo! Answers?

Oh boy, this is going to be fun.Q1: Why do we need water to survive?Quora: Our bodies are mostly made of water, so we need to continually replenish our water supply in order to survive.Yahoo! Will Quora one day become Yahoo Answers?

First of all, I have limited knowledge about both the forums in question. Now, here is my opinion. It's improbable that Quora will swoop down to the level of Yahoo! Answers. As it is evident, most of the questions asked on Yahoo! Answers are silly and redundant, whereas we find a lesser proportion of such questions on Quora. I feel that the main reason is the inner purpose of both forums. Quora, in my opinion focuses more on knowledge while Yahoo! focuses more on the users/askers. The fact that answers on Quora are open to public opinions validates it. Users can upvote, downvote, comment on any answer. Contrastingly on Yahoo! Answers, the asker is asked to choose what she/he feels is the best answer. This difference in the focuses of these forums influence the level of questions and answers on them. When the focus is on knowledge and anyone can contribute to enhancing it (Quora), the quality of the questions and answers will stay good. When the focus is on satisfying the askers/users, the questions and answers are bound to be silly.Apart from this fundamental difference, I feel that there are some more differences that make Quora better. Quora has been made with a better technology than Yahoo! Answers (from what I read on the web). Users can use real identities, hence care about their answers and questions. Quora is trying to rope in more and more real life experts on different topics. They include celebrities and other influential people around the world. So, the credibility factor comes into play. Recently, Barack Obama has joined Quora. Cool, isn't it?You can follow topics, users, questions and practically whatever you want on Quora. It is a highly customized platform which is designed to give you exactly what you want.Questions can be answered even long after they were posted and answers can be edited.Quora has a credit points system which acts as a big incentive for users to establish themselves on Quora. People play a points game on Quora and at the same time help spread knowledge around the world.
