How Can I Be Healthy And Look How I Want To When My Parents Only Buy Junk Food

How can I eat healthy when my parents only buy junk food?

you have to explain to them that you are going on a diet to lose weight and dont give into food lying around either..as it will take effort on your part..especially in beginning. fresh fruits and vegetables are very cheap..as well as a very large bag of asian rice that will last a long time for very cheap..also, pototoes, bags of lentils are very cheap..(make sure your rice is either indian basmati or thailand or chinese jasmine rice ..as much better quality)

you can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.

1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, grains, & yogurt..2. drink only water, juice, & milk..3. walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.

(btw, recommend you also to buy an electronic food steamer ((Very cheap)) and a rice cooker as makes it very easy to prepare healthy meals ,,add a bit of olive oil and pepper, spices on top of steamed vegeatables, fish or chicken to add more taste if wish as these are healthy too.)

How can I eat healthy when my parents only buy junk food?

First off: I'm really, REALLY thankful that we even have food, no matter the type, but this is kind of getting out of hand.

I'm still a kid (and kids usually love candy and junk), yet I am already so SICK of eating crap everyday! It makes me feel physically feel sick from eating so much junk all the time. My mom always stocks up on cookies, cakes, frozen pizzas, chicken patties, fries, chips, Cheez-itz, candy, etc. That's basically all she buys! She does get heads of lettuce, a small thing of blueberries, and green apples occasionally (only because I bugged her and bugged her to get some fruit). But I can't live off of just those, though. They don't always last until the next grocery trip, either.

It's really really hard to eat healthy and NOT go for the junk when there's tons of it all over the house!

How can I get my parents to buy more healthy options so my whole family can start eating a little healthier with me? We're not over-weight or anything (my brothers and I have really fast metabolisms), but still. Even if we don't want/need to lose weight, it cannot be good to ALWAYS eat pure junk 24/7, right?

Any ideas on what I should do?

My parents only buy junk food?

As in, the only fruit I have in my whole house right now is a couple oranges. That's it. Everything they buy is white, processed or otherwised unhealthy foods. I try to eat healthy - but how can I when there is ONLY unhealthy food to eat? I have to eat, so it's my only choice. I've told my parents multiple times about this, and the one time I convinced them and I got to buy my own food they said it was disgusting and threw it away. It's hard because they KNOW I love food of all kinds and that I can't resist ANYTHING apart from disgusting foods. I want to lose 20 pounds, and the only thing I can do to stop gaining weight is to eat less, which doesn't work. I've proven from school and the times where I CHOOSE what I eat that I can easily be very healthy, but I can't do that when there is only junk food.

And no, they don't even buy good meats. It's actually just pasta or white rice with chicken

Diet I'm trying to obtain;
Large Breakfast - Whole grain Pancakes, strawberries, orange juice and apples.
Snack - A fruit bowl
Medium Lunch - Low fat frozen yoghurt with strawberries, a lot of water or Lemon Water for Vitamin C boost.
Snack - A little thing like broth or normal seaweed.
Small but yummy Dinner - Usually red rice with a piece of seafood with bell peppers and an apple on the side. Water

Diet that's allowed given the circumstances;
Breakfast - One tiny full fat pancake with processed maple syrup and no-pulp orange juice
Snack - Have to skip because I don't want to eat too much.
Lunch - (I can keep this the same as it's at school)
Snack - Chocolate. Chocolate. Chocolate. I'm forced to eat chocolate. Or a whole cob of corn with full butter.
Dinner - A MASSIVE PILE OF CHICKEN, WHITE RICE AND CORN. Seriously, I've measured that one meal to be roughly 500 calories of death.

How do I convince them to get healthy food?

How can I eat healthy when my parents buy junk food?

I used to have the same problem. Junk food is soooooo tempting! My advice would be to stick to fresh fruits and veggies as much as possible. Fresh spinach is great, because it fills you up, and is amazing for your body. If you think its hard to resist snacking on unhealthy things, try buying crackers or nuts, they fill you up quickly too. Try to get a variety of fruits and vegetables into your diet. Ask your mom to take you to the store and pick out all the fresh fruit you can, and eat that for breakfast. Try eating small meals throughout the day instead of three large ones, it will keep your hunger down. Try to drink at least 4-6 bottles of water every day, it will help your digestion and keep you fuller for longer! Also, if you don't want to always eat sugary cereals, pick up some organic or all natural granola cereals, they taste great and are good for you. Eat fruit salad for dessert, i do that a lot and it's really yummy. If meat is a problem, try buying veggie burgers. Gardenburger makes awesome veggie burgers that in my opinion taste better than real meat (im a vegetarian). Vegetarianism is another way to go if youre willing to give up meat, and there are plenty of delicious meat supplements out there. Hope this helped!

How can I get my parents to stop buying junk food?

You can't get your parents to stop buying the stuff, but there are ways to reduce the temptation to eat it. My downfall was soda. Delicious fizzy soda--I loved the caffeine hit from Mt. Dew, the citrusy taste and even the acid-yellow color. But it was eating away the enamel on my teeth, and I was going broke buying the stuff. So I installed a Pur filter on my faucet and started keeping a water bottle with me all the time. Sometimes I'd put lemon or mint leaves in it for variety. In about 2 weeks, I started losing my taste for soda. Now I hardly ever drink it. Buy healthy things that you like to eat. Baby carrots dipped in hummus or even ranch dressing--chips that are baked instead of fried--edamame, which are steamed soybeans (great salted and eaten like peanuts)--peanut butter and apples or whole wheat crackers. I don't think you'll have to worry about the rest of your family eating them. Reach for those when you want a snack, and you'll be surprised how quickly your craving for junk food will go away. Oh, but also remember that it's ok to have an Oreo now and then.

How can I get my parents to stop buying junk food?

It's not that they should stop buying junk food, it's that you should go grocery shopping with them or make a list of healthy foods YOU want, and try to limit your eating of the junk food that they want. It isn't really fair that they should give up the food they like, junk or not, just because you may have a hard time of not being able to not eat it when it's around. This could also help you practice more self control, and lead to better habits in the future.

edit; @lily- I completely disagree with that statement. Leaving notes calling yourself "fat" and "unhealthy" can lead to dangerous, dangerous actions.

All you can really do is eat portained meals. And not to lay down after you eat.Your food needs to go down.It stays down if you lay down right away.LOL But also drink fruit drinks. No cokes, fill your body up with water,,juice and eat smaller things.Like I always eat the #5 at whataburger. Now I get the #7.Because it's small.I drink a lot of lemonades. Please don't get diet pills.Trust me i know it's hard because my parents are the same way.Just do what I said it's will be ok, and it really helped.

Why do parents allow their children to eat any junk food at all? Junk food has zero benefits for growing bodies and the best thing it does is cause cavities, headaches, hyperactivity, and tantrums.

My wife and I went from steaming our own organic baby food to giving our kids candy apples and cotton candy. No regrets.Sure, it may seem like we went from healthy eating puritans to straight up junk food gangstas, but there is a method to the sugar rush madness. Here's how we set up the sugar fixes in our neck of the woods.Halloween RulesYou know that movie where for one whole day anything is legal? Well, in terms of sugar, that day for us is Halloween. They can eat whatever they can handle on Halloween, and then we return to a law abiding, protein consuming household afterwards.CC & CA RidesThe two greatest sugar victories at Disneyland, according to our own independent research, are Cotton Candy (CC) and Candy Apples (CA).So we have certain rides that they are still developing the courage to ride designated as “CC rides” or “CA rides”.Throughout the year, we label the rides so they can devise a comfort zone expanding, sugar rewarding strategy. The result is that they either ride the ride, and get the reward, or they don’t, and don’t. What’s really great is that if they say, “I want some cotton candy”, we can come back with “ok, so does that mean that you're ready to ride the Matterhorn?”This reduces the candy nagging by 90%.NOTE: we pick rides that are age and height appropriate.Movie RulesEvery couple of weeks we go to the movies. My kids can pick an ice cream that they can have once they've eaten their hot dog.Hot dogs are not a difficult sell for my kids, but this reduces the complaining and negotiation tactics kids can use to eat their dessert items first.Nervous CandyEvery parent should pack some nervous candy in case of emergency. In our case, it started with a single Starburst I handed to my daughter when she was worried on a flight we were taking. She was upset and I asked her “do you need some nervous candy?”That got her attention… and her brother’s.My son pipes in “I need some nervous candy.”Before long, both kids were grinning with blocks of starburst in their mouths, flying like seasoned professionals, and my wife and I were chomping down the remaining nervous candy in celebration.Final ThoughtSugar will never lose its appeal, but it can lose its value as a commodity. Use it wisely, and it can be much more than a dietary sin.Image credit: Secrets From the Set of 'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory'

My parents always buy junk food but im trying to lose weight...what do i do?

I lost 35 lbs. When i decided to stop eating junk food and play sports, and jog around, walk the dog, walk or ride my bike to and from school, the hardest part was the diet.... Now you need to make them buy vegitables and fruits and many snacks: ex. Granola bars, crackers. Water is a big one!!!! It cleans out the bad! And never eat fast food because its "all u have to eat" people survive a week or two without food, you can skip the junk food and eat two ours later... Tell ur parents to support u and most likely they will understand and support u... Never overeat because u didnt eat earlier, i gained 5lbs like that, always keep busy and u wont feel the need to eat, i play 3 sports at school so it keeps me busy, hope it helps if u need more help feel free to send me an email.
