How Can I Clean My Xperia Z1

How do I resolve the memory leak problem in the Sony Xperia L phone?

Reset your phone, do not install apps which take up a lot of internal storage space and stay on at all times, plus here you go with the apps that are most power and memory hungry

How do I solve the overheating problems with my new Sony Xperia Z1?

Problem was already handled by SONY and they have suggested the solution: "We have investigated the issue with Google Play Services using a lot of battery and we have identified that the root cause of this is related to the latest version of Google Play Services (4.4.52).Until a new version of Google Play Services is provided by Google we  urge users to either uninstall the latest update of Google Play Services  (might limit use of Google Services like Youtube) or go to Settings  > Google (accounts) > Ads > Tick the box for Opt out of  interest-based ads and also disable back up of your data by going to  Settings > Backup & reset (Personal) > uncheck the box for  “Back up my data”. If you are unable to uninstall the update for Google Play Services  from Settings > Apps, go to Settings -> Security -> Device  administrators and disable "Android Device Manager". Also check the  settings in the Play Store so that automatic updates is not enabled as  this may update Google Play Services again automatically."Let me know if this solution helps :)

I just got a Sony Xperia Z1, do I need anti-virus software?

Just make sure you:Only download trustworthy apps from the Play Store.Download stuff that you know is safe.Don't trust your phone with anything that's too sensitive.Even if you don't do that, chances of your phone being infected are very slim.It happened to me once and it was a terrible experience (At that time I had installed McAfee, Kaspersky and avast! just for kicks). All my AV apps went haywire. I couldn't take it so I wiped my phone clean :) (Everything was stored in the cloud so I didn't lose anything) It might not have really been a virus or malware but you never know. Another thing, when I bought my Xperia SP it came with a free full year premium protection plan from McAfee. The first thing I did when I got the phone was to try and uninstall it. McAfee decided I was malware and the phone went into lockdown. By lockdown, I mean it locked me out and demanded a McAfee PIN that I hadn't even set before. My phone was unusable for about three days (It was brand new and I had barely used it) until I realized I could go into Safe Mode where all £rd Party apps would be disabled. It still asked for a PIN but 12345 worked. Needless to say, I'm still 'enjoying' my one year premium McAfee protection. If you decide to install AV software, make sure you have it completely set up. To be honest it isn't necessary but the extra features could be useful. I experienced first hand how 'effective' McAfee was against theft. My phone was rendered useless for three days. That's enough to frustrate thieves (I think).

Which is best and free antivirus to scan Sony Xperia phone so that my phone works faster?

Hi there.Antivirus is useless in android. It’s because they cannot scan the system and cache partition for malwares and viruses. Viruses in android don’t come from apps like in windows. They are attached in media files like photos, mp3 files and videos. This is commonly called stagefright vunerability. The virus is activated when an user plays infected audio and video files. The virus gains root access and copies itself in system directory. As we know that user and apps have no access to system without root in android, antivirus apps can not scan the system or even SD card in 5.1+ as they are not even allowed to read other apps private data. Now, you know that antivirus is of no use if you get infected, there is no reason to keep a resource hog app in your phone ,i.e antivirus software. It will slow down your phone even more. There can be a tons of different reason for phones to slowdown overtime. One can be hardware, Operating system, apps and cache. Please boot to recovery and wipe dalvik-cache, uninstall unused apps. You can also try fstrim app if you have root access.

My new Sony Xperia z phone is hanging and always too hot. What can I do about it and which app can help.?

My new Sony Xperia z phone is hanging and always too hot. What can I do about it and which app can help.?My advice is to uninstall any apps you can live without, switch on stamina mode, if it has it, my z3 compact does, and check your app settings, you might have live wallpapers on, or some other high battery drain app running. You might need to update the firmware, check with Sony's support site. Then get onto Google Play store and download Malwarebytes or AVG, malware and viruses can cause high battery drain as they try to spread themselves or feed your personal details back to the scumbags who programmed them.Otherwise, you might need to get your battery replaced.

I feel my Sony Xperia z3 compact that is two years old, is draining the battery faster than usual, is it worth to change the battery?

Befor I would go and change the battery ( and only get a reputable one from Sony please ) I would check your usage . Check your background tasks and running programs and see if one particular program is eating up too much juice ( Youtube and Facebook are both large apps but their are others that really love batteries ). You could also reinstall the OS to give it a clean install . If all is fine and ok you could look into a new battery as that phone was made 3 years ago and the battery may also be 3 years old even though you got it 2 years ago . You don't state the rate at which it drains as compared to when it was new but as batteries age they do loose some of their abilities . Two years is not normal for a battery to be depleted but if it has used its designed charge cycles it may be failing .

If you repair a Sony Xperia Screen, will the Water proof element be compromised?

I have some experience with the Xperia series from Sony.Right now I have the Xperia Z2, and I used to have the Xperia Z3 compact plus I have lots of friends using Sony Xperia. From what I experienced (tried, red and heard) .. 1- If your Xperia for any reason got opened up, there is a big chance your”Water proof” wont be as good as it used to be.2- You will have a better chance to save you “Water proof” If you went to Sony to fix it for you (This will coast you more of course) compared to 3rd party companies.3- Some Xperia phones may not be as Waterproofed as much as you can see in some commercials.4- Xperia phones are great phones. The only thing i don’t like about it is the fragile glass they use.If I where you, and I don’t care much about a strong waterproof phone, I would get it fixed by a trusted 3rd party company and save the money and try not to test the water proof. Good Luck!
