How Can I Connect My Blu Ray Player To My Tv

My TV won't connect to my Blu Ray player?

I have a 720p tv. I bought a brand new hdmi cable. I tried connecting it with my sony BDP S360 but it won't show on my tv. I tried to connect them through the setup but it won't show up. It connects through RCA cables just fine. Could it be just the hdmi cable? I don't have another to try it with.

Connecting my phone to my blu ray player?

I have a new sony blu ray disc player and was wondering if I can connect my phone to it so I can watch online videos from my phone to my player so I have a bigger screen to watch them on instead of my phone screen. My phone has a usb cable and the blu ray player has a usb port so I can connect it. But how do I get to it from the player so I can watch videos from my phone cuz I don't have internet on my blu ray player only my phone has internet. And I don't have a computer and I'm realy tired of watching online videos on my tiny phone screen and want to watch it on the tv screen and I know there is a way of doing so but I have no clue how to do it, can someone help??

I have a 720p TV and a 1080p Blu-ray player. Is there a way I can use my Blu-ray player without having to buy a new 1080p TV?

If the two devices are connected with HDMI then your bluray player will ask the TV what format it can accept and output that. Some 720p TVs actually accept 1080p and can downscale but also your Bluray player should happily downscale without much effort.Every device these days has an up-scaler and a down-scaler, not all blurays are actually 1080p and a blu-ray can play DVDs (which are SD) so it can upscale as well.Don’t worry, plug it in and watch the magic. I would be shocked if it didn’t work.

How do I connect my LG Blu-Ray disc player to my WiFi?

Depending on the model, you may not be able to connect directly to wifi, but all the LG bluray players I have seen all have a connection for a network cable. Pickup your remote and turn on your player press the Home button Select > Setup > Network > Connection. If it starts looking for your wifi, then you have a newer model and you just need to give it your wifi password.  If it's only looking for a wired connection, you have two choices:run network (cat5e) cable from a spare port on your router all the way to the LG playerget a cheap wifi range extender (must have a network socket) from your favourite electronics store, follow the instructions that came with it to connect the extender to your wifi, then use a short network cable to connect to the LG player. Mine is an older model, and I had to use the second option.  For the cost of the extender (~$50), I have my LG bluray player connected, and a stronger wifi signal in my living room as an added benefit. :)

Does a Blu-Ray player with built-in Wi-Fi mean that you can connect to things like YouTube and Netflix just by having it?

I don't have an internet router. I only have internet on my phone. I was hoping by getting a Blu-Ray player with built-in Wi-Fi I would automatically be able to connect to the internet with it and watch YouTube videos on my TV.

How to connect Sony Blu Ray Player to Pandora?

I have a Pandora account on the internet. When I go to the home page on my blu ray player and click on pandora, it says go to http://internet.sony.tv/pandora. I go there and it says to register and give the registration code for my Sony internet device. The problem is, when I look for it on the blu ray, it isn't there. What do I do?

Is a US Blu-ray player able to connect to a UK TV via HDMI?

In the world of HDTV and HDMI, NTSC and PAL are history. HDMI is the same 'round the world. Thus, yes, a US Blu-ray player can connect to a UK television via HDMI (and vice versa). There are two issues to watch out for, though:The power supply. US is 110V at 60Hz, UK is 220V at 50Hz. You'll want to make sure the Blu-ray's power supply is a "switching" type that supports both, or you'll want to get a localized PSU.Region coding. Blu-ray discs have three regions (A, B, and C) that work similar to DVD regions (1, 2, 3, and 4). The good news is most Blu-ray discs do not use the region codings, so most discs will work in your player. Unfortunately most DVD discs do use them, so you'll want to make sure you have region-appropriate DVDs.

Is there any way I can control my DVD/Blu ray player with no remote? I have an LG bp220 DVD/Blu ray player with a usb port in the front. Is there anything I can use, like an iPhone or wii remote or wireless mouse, that can function as a remote?

The Blu-Ray player remote talks to the player through IR (infrared) signals.   iPhones can't do IR remote directly.  There are apps that work with external IR devices such as the Griffin Beacon by essentially turning Bluetooth signals into IR commands:But you didn't want more equipment.   Your best bet without buying anything is to make use of one of your other remotes.  Most Cable box remotes and many TV remotes are actually universal remotes and can control your Blu-Ray player.  (If your TV or cable box is older it's possible that the remote does not have a built-in code for the player - for a cable remote this should be solvable as they are generally upgradable -- call your cable company -- but most TV remotes are not).   If the above doesn't work your best option is to get a new universal remote.  These can be had very cheaply if your goal is just to replace the Blu-Ray remote; this RCA model works fine and goes for under six bucks on Amazon:Amazon.com : RCA Rcr503Br 3-Device Palm-Sized Universal RemoteIf you want to reduce overall clutter, upgrade to a universal remote that can control everything you have, then put the other remotes away.  This may be technically "buying extra equipment" but the net result may be fewer, not more, devices.

Does a Blu-ray player need WiFi?

No. Many Blu-ray players have strictly wired connections, and I have one player with no internet connection at all. When Blu-ray was first introduced, internet connections were touted as a way to get additional content not on the disc. While this has largely been abandoned, an internet connection is necessary for streaming apps on the player as well as being the easiest way to do firmware updates. You don’t “need” the connection to update your Blu-ray player, but it is more convenient.
