How Can I Continue Studying In It Engineering In Usa

Can I get settled in the USA after studying engineering if I am from a country like Pakistan?

No, you probably cannot considering the way the US government is treating skilled immigrants these days. There is a sentence heard by far too many afte spending a fortune getting a degree in USA.“Congratulations on your degree - now leave. NOW.”Only an extremely SMALL percentage of foregin US graduates get to stay.……………………Now for Canada, the situation is EXACTLY the opposite. We love to receive young and bright immigrants. After you have studied for three years and recived a degree you get an “almost automatic” working permit that soon leads to a Permanent Residence visa. After four additional years, you can apply for citizenship.Canada has many world class universities.Start you search here:Where does your school rank? Maclean's 2017 University Rankings are here.Don’t worry about a student visa yet. The admissions office will assist you with getting a visa AFTER you have been accepted.Welcome to Canada.

Should I continue studying engineering or transfer to a "target university" and study finance if I want to end up working in finance when I graduate?

In life it is better in the long run to educate youself in as many areas as you can handle, especially when you are young and have the time, energy, intererest and the opportunities at hand to take advantage off.I did follow that line of thinking and educated myself both horizontally and vertically as much as I could. While pursuing engineering it is to your advantage to add one or more fields of expertise to your education.Over time you will be glad you did.Anything extra that you will learn will help you later in any position that you choose to work to your advantage.Every bit of knowledge that you learn will contribute to your edgein whatever field you will work later in life.If you can handle engineering and finance go for it.You have the last say.Good luck.

Should I continue studying mechanical engineering if I don't like it?

I personally think if you have decided that you don’t want to study it, then you should NOT go through with it. You should take some time, explore some options, talk to people, and then make up your mind as to what you should do. I actually went through a very similar story. I have completed my 4 years of mechanical engineering even though I knew I did not like it. The only reason I went through it was that people kept telling me it has a huge value and I would regret quitting it. I did not do so well in it and I have a low gpa. Now here I am, I’m actually planning to go to school for undergrad again to study something that I’d like (Electrical Engineering). I do regret not changing me field earlier and wasting my time pursuing something I knew I didn’t want. It is not a very good feeling. Even now people keep telling me that there is nothing for you to regret because Mechanical engineering is a very good degree and you can end up in a good job, but I think it is important for you to like what you have studied and are going to do in future.

Which is a better choice after studying Engineering - pursuing higher studies or getting a job?

A2A. Which is a better choice after studying Engineering - pursuing higher studies or getting a job? This depends on your goals and your situation. If you are planning to get a PhD, you should apply to PhD programs, and as a backup, master’s degree program where you write a master’s thesis. If you cannot get a job, you should look at training to get a job. Depending on the field, this may or may not be higher studies. For example, if you cannot get a job in your field, you may want to take skills courses to get a job as a software developer or a web developer. If you have a job, then your next step depends on your end goal which is usually it is a choice between being an engineer or a manager. If you ultimate goal is to be a manager, I recommend Engineering Management early in your career and an EMBA when you are at the senior technical position that is in the same category as an first line manager. If you goal is not management, I recommend a part time program in your area of interest.Side note: Normally when I get a question like this, it is usually from a student who is about to graduate or just has graduated. What this tells me is that asker is still in "student mode". Advanced degrees are not work experience, and unless you are planning to do a doctorate, a full time program is not cost effective - it incurs more student debt and lost of wages and experience. A part time MS program that takes five years has five years of work experience. The student in the long run would be better served doing a part time technical program at a top university until the have enough work experience - three to five years - to do a full time or part time MBA at a top Business School. Because an MBA is more than coursework, I do not recommend part time online MBAs.

What career to study? I don't know if I should continue studying engineering of study what I really like HELP?

Alright here is the situation:

I'm 21 years old and right now I'm studying Industrial Engineer in Mexico.

I really don't like my career, I mean it's interesting but not so interesting to make me happy, some days I don't even want to wake up and go (I feel like a young kid that doesn't want to go to school)
And my grades are really good, so the reason I don't like it is not because it's difficulty.

I feel my career like a bad tasting food, that you are able to eat, but you just don't like it's flavor lol.

What really interest me is art and animation, some nights I don't sleep while I'm drawing or studying photoshop, flash or illustrator. I really like to use my imagination and create little stories and ideas. So I have nice ideas to animate, but I just don't have the knowledge and tools to do it right now.

So I don't know if I should leave this college and star studying animation somewhere else.

The problem is that I'm in 6th semester, so if I wait a couple of years maybe I could graduate from Industrial Engineer, but maybe I would feel regret for never studying animation.

Another problem is that with a title of Industrial Engineer I have better opportunities to earn money, I'm not looking to be rich, I don't really care, but I'm afraid to be poor if I'm an animator.

And if I leave college right now to study animation I don't know if in the future I would feel regret for not graduating as an engineer.

What do you thin I should do?

(sorry about my grammar :-)

As a foreigner studying aerospace engineering in the US, what are the prospects after graduation?

I had this same problem when I finished my high school in the United States. I am basically an Indian and I was on a normal visa in the US. I got into University of Michigan and desperately wanted to go there when it was believed that most of the top US companies in the Aerospace Field require you to either have a permanent residency in terms of a green card or a citizenship. I had to make a big decision and come back to India to finish my Undergrad. However there are other ways to get a job in the United States after Undergrad. You can either continue your education with grad school or you can join a smaller company first and further for bigger companies. It is generally believed that companies come for recruiting after 2nd year of grad school and usually provide you with your green card. The big companies want people who have a keen knowledge fresh in their minds to work for them. And you can apply for the citizenship after you get your green card. It usually takes around 4 to 5 years to get your citizenship but you do get your permanent residency offered. The other way is by working at a smaller company that has ties for with a larger franchise and developing your way through promotions and quality projects to gain that position in the larger company. This way, you don't have to worry about citizenship.

You can always do a MBA. Now keep one thing in mind. The country of the MBA program is really not that important as much as the accreditation. These three accreditations are very important - AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS.
Which ever program you apply to, make sure it has at least one of these accreditations. Then you need not be worried about the programs recognition. Have a look at their websites and select programs listed there.

AACSB - http://www.aacsb.edu/
AMBA - http://www.mbaworld.com/page/welcome/...
EQUIS - http://www.efmd.org/html/home.asp...

All the best!
