How Can I Convince My Mom To Let Me Fly By Myself On A Plane.

Convincing my mom to let me fly alone?

This June I want to go to a church camp that I went to twice before I moved. My best friends who I love like family are gonna be there.
My mom is okay with me going on the plane, but not alone. And my step dad doesn't want to fly with me.
How do I convince her to let me go alone, if my step dad gives me a definite 'no' on him going with me? I have the money by the way. This camp is what got me off of drugs, alcohol, smoking, everything. In a way, it saved me.
I'm 14 and male by the way. I'm well-educated, and pretty respondible. And my dad lives an hour and a half away from the camp, so if anything happened, he'd be able to be there. It's June 24-28. Oh and this would be my first time ever flying. And it's 450 miles away, if I didn't already mention it.
Thank you so much!

My mom won't let me go on a plane by myself.?

Your mom isn't psycho, she is having trouble letting you grow up. It may take little steps to get to the big ones.

A lot of it can have to do with your history. Have you shown common sense? Do you follow rules? Do you protect your privacy online? Can you be trusted? If you don't follow her rules, if you are out late and breaking curfew a lot, if you aren't smart about basic safety, then maybe she is justified in her fears.

You need to talk to her about each fear - and walk through what to do. Killed by what - and what can you do to prevent it. Kidnapped - you won't talk to strangers and you will always be in sight of airline personnel. Plane crash - she could have the same fear about car crashes, so I wouldn;t go there. It's been over two years since there was a fatal crash of a commercial airline in the US. It may not help if she fears flying.

But you could Take a cell phone and call her from the waiting area and as soon as they let you when you land. Then call when you meet the people picking you up.

Have contingency plans for if the plane is late or the people aren't there to meet you when you arrive.

It might not work, in which case, accept her decision. THat will show maturity and she might let you do a trip in the future.

How can I convince myself that my plane won't crash?

I have never been scared of flying until right now. I am going to go to medical school in India and I have to make 2 trips every year to the US and back to India. Having to make 12 total trips is really freaking me out. Especially such long trips. What is the likelihood that my plane will crash?

How to convince my parents to let me fly alone?

I am 15 years old going into 10th grade. My cousin lives in NY and I live in NC and she wants me to fly up there for her 16th birthday so we could spend it together. The problem is my mom wont let me fly alone because she think I will get lost or some one will take me. Typical mom thinking, but I really want to go because we only see each other once a year at Christmas time. We facetime almost everyday for 3 hours because we are like bestfriends. How do I get my mom to let me fly up there?

How can I convince my dad to let me fly two states over alone to see my girlfriend?

Hi,Do you wish to go to jail? The age of consent all across America is 16, no matter what state you are in, and regardless of whether your parents approve of your relationship. So, if you went over there and anything happened, including but not limited toHer Dad getting upset over somethingHer Mom getting upset over somethingHer siblings having a problem with youHer relatives having a problem with youHer friends/neighbors having a problem with youAll they would have to say is: There’s this 16 year old boy having sex with a minor at 135 Oak Place! (Even if you aren't having sex)And by the letter of the law, you'd at least be arrested, because it's not legal for you to be her girlfriend because you are legally an adult but she isn't.Then your dad would have to come bail you out, which is not in his best intentions. So, wait till she's 16. It's not that far away. Then make sure the AOC in her state is actually 16, and that may be enough to convience your dad to go.Good luck!Yes, I know about the couple year gap that no one usually cares about, but I've had friends who got put in jail for this, and it stays on their record for the rest of their life. And everyone on the block must know that you are a sex offender from then on.

How can i convince my parents to let me fly alone?

I turned 17 a few days ago and I'm flying out to San francisco from the UK on my own on wednesday... it is going to be fine. Tell your parents what i did - that you can keep in touch over mobile ( cell phone ), and that they can track your flight etc over the internet. They can come with you to the airport, and because you are under 18 they can arrange for someone to point you in the right direction and make sure you get on the right flight ( choose this option when you buy the ticket if it is an option .) Tell them they can speak to your friend, and just be honest with them and reassure them that you are mature enough to handel it. You need to tell them that you are becoming an adult now and need a bit of extra freedom, otherwise youll go nuts. Be safe and have a good time, good luck persuading your parents :)

How to convince my parents to let me fly alone?

Well, presumably you should ensure that her parents have met you and are comfortable with you visiting her. That would probably mean phoning her parents and talk with them, giving them detailed information about you, Skyping/FaceTiming with them, having them talk with your parents, etc. Until they are willing to have you stay at their place, this isn't something likely to happen.

Next, you would need to raise about $1000 or so. Plane tickets likely $600, plus several hundred on taking people out for dinners, presents, passport, travel medical, etc . Don't expect your parents to consider it if they have to pay. Getting a part-time job, baby sitting, washing cars, etc. will likely show that you are serious.

When both sets of parents are onboard, you'll need your parents to get you a passport, book a plane ticket for you, write a letter of permission, etc. Travel as a minor is not a big deal at 14 -- or presumably 15 by the time this happens -- since you are likely limited to summer, spring break, or maybe Christmas. You don't need to be in an accompanied minor programs typically under you are under 12. At 14-15, you are likely fine getting to your gates and presumably her parents would be picking you up at the airport.

If your mother doesn't trust you to get on a plane, make connections, walk through customs, etc. then it is unlikely her parents are going to trust you to spend five or so days living at her home. You obviously can't book a hotel.

How do you convince your parents to let you fly alone?

I think you are perfectly old enough to fly alone - but it depends on the kid and how mature they are. You can get an escort through the airlines, I believe. But in this day and age, you have to understand why your mother would be concerned (this has nothing to do with being Asian, just being a mother! ;)

My husband flew on a transatlantic flight when he was barely 12 years old. But this was in the early-mid 1980s...you can argue that airline terrorism was just as bad then as now, if not worse. But try to understand that your mother is just concerned and the idea of something happening to you, especially if she weren't there to do anything about it, is probably a painful thought.
