How Can I Deal With This Racist Co-worker

How do I deal with a racist coworker?

I should add that I do not like this woman, don't really care about her feelings. My concern is that if I antogonize her, she's going to be impossible to work with.

I would be concerned about being labeled a racist by association but she's secretive about it, it's not something other people who we work with know. I've worked with her for 10 years and only found out she feels this way when she recently started telling these horrible jokes.

To be honest, if she was more open about it, I'd be more likely to tell her to shut up or report her because I'd be concerned about the feelings of my other coworkers.

Is my coworker racist?

If your workplace has a Human Resources department, I'd suggest that you take this to them. This isn't really about race. This is a person that is simply out of control and uses divisive comments to intimidate people.

Are you sure its her thats racist?

My Asian coworker is racist...?

OK here's the scenario. I'm a 25 year old white male and I have this 47 year old Chinese coworker who makes a lot of racial remarks about white people. For example, on my birthday he bought me Spam and HoHos. I asked him why he was giving me that and he replied, "Because that's what you honkies eat, isn't it?" On a totally separate occasion, I was going on a vacation to visit my family and he said, "Have fun at the trailer park." Another time he asked me what I had planned for the weekend and I told him I was hanging out with friends. His reply: "Sounds like a weekend full of rednecks smashing beer cans on their foreheads and playing banjos to me!" Is it just me or is this guy totally inappropriate? What should I do about him? I don't know why he feels the need to say these things as I have been nothing but respectful about his heritage.

How to deal with mean coworkers?

I work with 3 women at a health club and they are set on getting me out. From day one, supervisor has refused to teach me how to do my job and then reports me for mistakes. She undermines me by calling me names such as slow and makes racist comments. I'm asian. She'll say stuff such as I can't work with a certain race. Will tell me off in front of coworkers. Will excuse other people's mistakes and not mine. My other coworker tattle tales and copies what I wear I guess to annoy me. I've reported the racist comments and they've tried to water it down. Coworkers go in my locker, try to look into my phone and then report me for whatever they find. What should I do?

How do I deal with a co-worker that seems to be racist, feminist and has a superiority complex?

Stay away as much as possible, have only the conversations that you have to have job related. When it comes to superiority, wouldn't let them think for a second that they are more superior then myself, unless they do have more experiences work wise but to give them that power no.Racist, you can if you choose to, when the subject comes to say, none of us have a choice who gives birth to us and what nationality we come from. Yes we just accept and adapt. The skin color too. If that helps them see a different point of view fine, if not, then not. These are some issues that the co-workers has to deal with on their own. It's their own believes and background where they come from and how they see things. Unless they see a specialist, a professional, you can't really help. You can be nice to them even dough they are not being nice to you. It's up to you. But don't get into it with them cause it's just going to give you a headace that you don't really need. Good luck.
