How Can I Decorate My Room Like The 50s-70s

What other bedroom themes should I mix with 80's decor?

The 50’s era seems more relevant in the 80s then it’s own era so making use of retro 50’s 60’s decor could be cool. Think moon beam clock, neon, retro but simplistic furniture

How do I decorate a dining area in 1950s style?

First, I would take some time to get familiar with mid-century style, if you're not already. Do a quick image search for 50s interior design. What kinds of things do you notice? How does the furniture and accessories used look? What colors did they use?Mid-century style has a very distinct, usually modern look to it--one of my favorites, for sure! The great thing is it's seriously en vogue at the moment, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find what you need to finish off your dining room. Simple yet dynamic lines in furniture is common to the style, as are neutrals and warm colors like reds, oranges and yellows and even aqua and mint. Walnut wood tones are prominent in this style, as is glass. Common shapes and forms were starbursts, the boomerang and rounded polygons such as rectangles and diamonds, to name a few.Easiest way to stay true to the style? Shop from places that sell it. Target has been sporting a very trendy retro line of home goods for a while now, like this table lamp and wall clock:Dwell Studio and West Elm are both vendors with very retro aesthetics to consider shopping at, depending on what price point you are comfortable with. Online stores such as Wayfair or Overstock have search engines that can help you find furnishings, lighting and accessories in the mid-century style for any budget. Local vintage stores carry all sorts of good things, as well, so I would definitely research a few and take a visit to any in your region. (I picked up that 5-drawer chest for about $250 at one of my local vintage shops and it's in great condition!) You could also try a keyword search for mid-century items on sites like Craigslist, Ebay and Etsy.If you can find even just a few furniture pieces (dining chairs, table, buffet), lighting (like a large pendant), artwork and/or other accessories like a wallpaper with these elements in mind, it'll be a snap to infuse mid-century style into your space. Don't be afraid to be eclectic, either! It doesn't all have to be mid-century, if you like other styles, too. That should give you a good starting point. Hope you find these tips helpful! Would love to see how your dining room turns out. :) Even you need further help, don't hesitate to contact me. I can work with potential clients anywhere in the U.S (and possibly Canada) with e-design. Good luck!

60's, 70's, 80's Bedroom Ideas? PLEASE ANSWER!!!?

Hello. I'm a teenage girl and I'm moving into a new house and I want a 60's, 70's, 80's theme in my room? I'm buying all new furniture so that won't be a problem. I have many old records that I can hang up. I would prefer black furniture....! I DO NOT want a flower power hippie room. I'm okay with peace signs and tie dye. I want to have black tied in into my room because I want it to be cool rock music-ish. I want more like a badass room not flowery and pink. I want it to be like cool like "The Outsiders" cool not Scooby Doo cool if you know what I mean.

I also love The Doors.. I really like the old rock style.

P.S. Pictures and links to websites would be great.

Which bedroom theme could be based on an interest I like art, music, movies and fitness?

You can apply mid-century style for your bedroom. Mid-century style is related to the minimalism of Contemporary style, but it built simpler than Contemporary. It uses a lot of industrial/fabric things, just like Industrial style, but looks more organic. Its bright touch will impress us, it mixes indoor and outdoor, it’s also comforting and functional. This style suitable whoever who loves modern art, 50’s-70’s music era (The Beatles, Bee Gees, Elvis Presley, ABBA and Disco), and dressed like Marilyn Monroe or Jackie Kennedy.Don’t forget to use some iconic furniture or lamp to strengthen the mid-century taste. Like Warhol’s pop-art paint,Sputnik ChandelierAnd some famous-iconic furniture in its eraThat’s all I can suggest hope this can help!

Would you like to Tell me about the 80's and 90's bully that you delt with? From my understanding this was a really tough time to be a student.

Thanks for the A2A.It was a tough time, although I’d wager it’s worse now than it was even back then. Today, student’s go home, and have to deal with the same bullies online. Students going on trips have to deal with supposed adults being bullies as well. The internet didn’t exist on that level when I was in school, for most of my education, anyway. Certainly no social media. But my experience was from the vast majority of the student body that would put me down, or just general verbally abuse me. A few times I did deal with physical violence, and that unfortunately had a toll as well. For me, it wasn’t just a single person, or handful of people, it was the majority of students I encountered and had to deal with. Then there was the whole issue with Columbine, which impacted every single school, and that only added to the fuel for bullies to target individuals such as myself, that were outcasts, because to them, different meant ‘dangerous’.In my case, I had to deal with stress at home as well, and often enough that would only compound the problem.

Any college theme party ideas?
