I want to delete my youtube account because I can't change the name on the account. But I want to use the same email address for the new youtube account I will be making since it's connected to my gmail account. So can I delete my youtube account and make a new one with the same email address?

I don't believe so. That YouTube account and that email address are linked. You could cancel the YouTube account, but you'd have to have a new email address because it will still be linked with another account. This prevents a lot of accounts being canceled and new account created using one email address. You could open the old account in order to use that particular email address. My youtube account is linked to google account via a yahoo email address. so my youtube account, yahoo email and google account are all linked. Because i also have another gmail account, it creates much logging on and offs whenever i sign on to youtube and gmail. So i wanted to unlink youtube from google, but google doesn't let you do that. So i closed down my yahoo email (which i don't use alot) thats linked to youtube account and google, hoping that it wouldnt be linked together anymore. However, after i logged on to my youtube account then google, i realized that even after i closed down my yahoo email, my google account still exists! So i tried deleting that google account but then it said deleting the account will also delete other services with it such as youtube. Yes, it will delete all your comments. It is the Google account that you are deleting. You can go “on the lamb” very quickly. Give it a shot. You can learn a lot from a full delete. Many people will never experience full deletion. I have done it. It frees you. People are very very attached to the Internet and their precious YouTube channel. Why be like that? Advertisements? Think about it.
