I dropped a 4 pound weight on my big toe?

Sounds like you have a subungual hematoma or a collection of blood under the nail. These hurt like the dickens. You should see someone to make that diagnosis. You may need an xray but I bet a hole drilled in the nail over the blue spot will relieve the pressure and help your pain.Good luck!

Good diet and excersise and little weight loss?

Thanks for the A2A Hongyi ShuiThis is what I have as my summary and recommendations after all these yearsBe it Keto, Intermittent fasting, Atkins, OMAD and excluding the hormonal stuff that each diet has. The diets would generally require a higher expenditure as compared to intake for it to work. These would be my nutritional and lifestyle recommendations to help with regards to the changes that you can make and help with maintenance of the weight loss.Where would be your starting point, people who start off with a higher bodyweight and body fat percentage would have a bigger drop in weight as compared to the drop in body fat percentage.Would stress levels be high as the stomach tends to be the place when cortisol is stored and when cortisol is too high for too long, it can increase the amount of fat you hold in your belly. Methods that help are Yoga, Walking, Meditation.Would you be drinking alcoholic drinks, as that impacts weight/fat loss.Would there be things that are constantly changing in the individuals life, as the goal is to have something that fits one's lifestyle preferences and be sustainable in the long run.Making sure that even though one is eating better/well and not over consuming healthier foods like nuts, olive oil, avocado which have a high calories for a small portion.Find out what suits your lifestyle with regards to nutrition and training, foods or dietary preferences, like a higher fat approach compared to a low fat etc..Reduction of processed and sugared products would help in bringing your weight down and improve your health.Make sure that you are hydrated and another benefit is that it might push you to use the bathroom more often, which makes you move more.Consuming 5–7 servings of vegetables a day.Getting sufficient amount of sleep, as the lack of sleep may increase the opportunity for another meal and decrease hormonal production.Having hobbies, getting to know people, reading books, stuff that doesn't require a computer or phone and get to be outdoors. If you would not be cooking, finding all the food friendly places that are nearby, and try to have an alternative path back home if the usual path has a lot of food temptations.Have alternatives to sugar cravings such as fruits, use (sugar free jello, diet sodas and things like that as the extreme)Incorporating and learning how to use the slow cooker as that saves time due to it being able to cook while sleeping.

Why do some people drop the weights on the ground at the gym?

I work out in a gym that is pretty serious about weightlifting.  It's a CrossFit gym (called a "CrossFit Box" because of it's minimalism... it's almost literally just a box-- four walls-- no machines except for indoor rowers, no frills). Our primary equipment is weights, pull-up bars and boxes for jumping,In our gym, it's part of the normal routine to drop weights. When we prepare to do a weightlifting movement, the trainer goes over the movement in detail, and the class mimics it (with no weight).  Then they will generally have one of the athletes demonstrate the movement with some weight. We often review the techniques for dropping the weight, because this is a really important part of preventing injuries. They explain what you might injure, and why.Situations where it makes total sense to drop weight:When doing a high number of reps for time: when the time runs out, you may be so exhausted you need to collapse... and drop the weight. When you are lifting a very heavy weight, and you can't complete the movement, it's incredibly important to gracefully exit the move by dropping the weight. This does not mean that you throw the weight.  The reason we go over the technique for dropping is to prevent injury to yourself and others, so you want to try to drop it with as much control as possible. It's something that you become practiced at, just like other skills. There are situations when it is not OK to drop the weight:- If you are working with a bar with no plates on it, or lighter-weight metal plates, because they can be damaged.- If the gym is crowded, and you are working out with a lighter weight,  dropping is discouraged or forbidden, because the bar can "jump" and might hit someone near you.- Dumbells can also be damaged by dropping, so it is preferable to set them down.

Drop Dead Diva: Will Jane lose weight?

It is not that I agree with shows that promote women to starve. I feel that I am at a healthy weight at a size 5... That's no 2, 1, or 0... I don't want to be that small. But I find it irritating that this show seems to tell society that they need to change everything for plus size women... Size is a choice... I don't believe the crap or excuses people bring. I come from a polynesian background yet I am able to maintain my weight far better than this culture likes to claim they could be. It is all excuses, laziness, and rather repulsive. I am no top model... I don't consider myself shallow. I have a wide variety in types. I just believe that people choose to be fat and I am sick of them not doing something about it. omg! it requires getting off the couch or drinking a diet coke. . . or perhaps not eating out ALL the time.

So is she going to lose weight eventually on the show and give morbidly obese people hope? Perhaps it could reach out in hope and not promote unhealthy life styles

When you loose weight, do you drop a shoe size or the wideness of your foot?

May sound like a stupid question to some, it even sounds to stupid to me. But.. just curious. Do you drop a shoe size if you loose alot of weight?

If not, does your foot shrink in wideness? For example, someone used to wear a wide, but after losing weight can they fit a regular standard size shoe? :P

If you stopped eating for a few days, would your weight drop significantly?Does being a man or a woman make a difference?

Starving yourself is the worst way to lose weight and will not lead to a satisfying result. When you reduce you calories even slightly below maintenance there will be muscle wastage(muscle being used as energy) so if you was to reduce you calories to 0 your body would go into shock and start to use all of your muscle as energy. As far as i know it is completely the same for men and women. One of the most extreme cases of voluntary starvation, is the hunger strike of Mahatma Ganhdi. During his protest, Gandhi ate absolutely no food and only took sips of water for 21 days, and survived. What extraordinary about this case is the fact that Gandhi was very lean when he started his hunger-strike, thus not having much energy reserve from the outset. Also, it must be noted that during his life, Gandhi is reported to have performed a total of 14 hunger strikes.I know this is a very extreme example but do you really want this kind of body? For weight loss tips go to https://www.rcr-products.co.uk/

A weight fell on my finger...Is it broken?

Yesterday my little sister dropped a 5 pound weight on my finger about 1 and a half feet off the ground on accident. :( It hit my middle finger and hurt everything past and including the middle joint. It bruised my middle joint and everything else past there and tore off the skin on the second part of my finger. (well not all of it) and it felt really numb. It hurt so freaking bad!!! It was night so my mom bandaged it and gave me some ice. The next morning (today) I looked at it and the middle joint was very discolored (bluish) and my finger tip and nail was really red. It's not really swollen, just red and sensitive. The cut was okay I guess, but it was oozing some clear liquid. (i've had other cuts do that, what is that stuff) but still very painful. I can bend it strait, but it hurts like hell. The bruised middle joint is very sensitive, if I touch it even slightly, it hurts and stings. I don't really know what broken bone feels like, i've never had one. Sorry I don't have any pics, but is it broken?

If two balls with the same weight are dropped from different heights, which ball shall strike the earth with greater speed?

Weight makes no difference. But different sizes and starting points do,If the balls are the same size and weight, then the one that starts higher will hit the ground with greater speed because it has further to accelerate. However, if they are the same weight but different sizes, then the smaller one will have a lower friction from the air and will fall faster and hit harder, depending on the relation between their starting height and friction from the air.For example, an inflatable beach ball and a little ball bearing might have the same weight, but the ball bearing would fall a lot faster. I bet if you dropped the ball bearing from 10 metres it would hit faster than the beach ball dropped from a couple metres up.
