Is Nanakuli a good place to live?
Nanakuli is low-low income....bad area, run down, way way out west nothing around as far as major stores. Most of the people that live there are of Hawaiian, Samoan, or Micronesian descent. They do not accept other races. My cousin(a pale Mexican) is married to a full blooded Hawaiian and lives with his family. When we come to visit, they do not let us go outside alone. My hubby is a blonde with blue eyes, and I am a lite skin Mexican.. Not a safe place for people of different color. If you plan to live off base...then Kapolei or Makakilo is a really good place to live! but the best bet would be to live on base..its safer there! Best of luck to you!

There are lots of ways to go here. Try a local senior citizens center to see if there is an elderly person who would like to rent you either a basement apartment or a room. If they are able to get out to a center, they are independent enough to not need medical attention from you. Elderly people frequently want someone around just so they aren't alone, and their prices are generally quite low. You could get a two bedroom apartment and get a roommate, but that opens you up to all sorts of potential headaches. Look for a single mother. Exchange a room for a certain number of babysitting hours a week. If the housing doesn't work out, there are ways to cut back on other expenses. Apply for energy assistance at your local department of social services. That is easy and unlimited, unlike housing vouchers. Register at your local freecycle.org website, so that you can get necessities-clothing, appliances, furniture,...-for free. Your local foodbank will give you groceries. Just be prepared to wait a while for it to be your turn. And there is always the option of getting a second job. I am the single mother of one who has been surviving on $1100 a month for 10 years now. It's not easy, but it can be done.

Looking for HELP with SECTION EIGHT Income Housing. How do I apply? How do I qualify? I live in New Jersey. I NEED my own place to live. I really need to be able to live in RANDOLPH New Jersey. My children attend that school system, I am divorced and make about $24,000.00 per year. I have 2 children. Ages 15 and 11. I am residing with my sister in another town. My children are able to attend school in RANDOLPH because they live with my ex husband eveyother week. He resides in Randolph. I need to be able to get a place in RANDOLPH by 8/2007. My son will be entering the middle school there and I need to be able to utilize the school busing system. I work a 40 to 45 hour work week the commuting that we have to endure is very hectic. I will not have the option of after school programs for my son next year. I NEED HELP!! Any suggestions. Advice. Assistance. ANYTHING!!! will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
