Why is confidentiality important in health and social care? What are some examples?

Confidentiality: In simple words, confidentiality is defined as keeping other people’s personal information protected. This is essential as confidential/private documents can contain such information that, if shared, can cause great difficulty and/or embarrassment to service-users.  Confidentially is very important to keep someone’s personal information protected and whenever there is a need to share this personal information, that it is done so securely. For example, if a child (under 16 years of age) comes to a medical care setting, with some medical complaint that may need parental advice permission to use care, they are not regarded as Gillick Competent. If they are not Gillick Competent, the service-provider, in this case a doctor or surgeon will have to breach confidentiality and get the parents involved or in a more serious scenario, some child protection officer or other authorities e.g. social services will be contacted and involved.Just a Few Confidentiality Examples: When you walk into a hospital or another care setting, you are normally asked questions and have to go to a reception, where there will be a glass screen and in some places, nowadays, a line that patients have to stand behind at a particular distance, so that private information cannot be seen by other people.  The receptionist will normally ask questions such as your address and email address and/or phone number, and may also give you a questionnaire sometimes to enhance your experience at the care setting and to make sure they have the correct person. Before, information used to be written by hand and/or typed up and store in files locked in filing cabinets. After the invention of the computer, we have the advantage, in more developed countries, of using a computer and storing private information on them. Computers also require passwords for security, which minimises the risk of private information being accessed by others.

What is the best priority order among family, love, friends, health, career to make life successful?

Health,Family, Career, Friends.I don't think love and family are two different things.People, things , you care and worry are in front of you.Health is given. You are your first responsibility.Family, with whom you share your all moments. You care and worry about them. You maybe away from your family for work, you still prioritise your family, if your not parents, then your spouse/kids, present or future. You may change your career/job but you won't change your family.Career helps you earn livelihood and allows you to take care of health and family. If you say , career is most important, you just changed definition of family, for which you care.Friends, come and go. Friends for life are more of the family. Although, Friends and career is interchangeable for priorities.

If the United States nationalized health care, how many jobs would be lost in the middleman roles (insurance, etc)?

If you nationalize health Care, you only affect providers, not payers. Insurers would not be affected. We'd still have the crazy payment scheme we currently have. Providers would become government employees, and the government would Bill insurers.I don't think anyone is taking about nationalizing health Care. This is a red herring put out by the alt right that has no idea what it is taking about. Now, if health insurance is taken over by the government, some insurance jobs would be lost. All those benefit consultants who tell companies where to get the cheapest insurance would be out of work. Some of the people who evaluate whether a service is covered under the plan would lose their jobs. Most of the actuaries who try to design benefit packages to maximize profits would lose their jobs. Most of the accountant for insurance companies who analyze the profitability or performance of those companies would become redundant. The support people for all the above would also no longer have work to do.My guess is that half the people in health insurance would lose their jobs. Maybe sixty percent. That's just a seat of the pants guess.According , Health insurance home-office employees U.S. number 1960-2015 | Statistic ,About 525000 people worked in the home offices of health insurers in 2025. My guess is that between 275000 and 300000 people would lose their jobs with a Medicare for all program that Bernie Sanders is proposing.Of course, in order to provide all the additional health services needed by people who are currently uninsured our underinsured, you'd need at least have a million more folks— maybe even a million more, you'd have a significant net job gain. There economy would probably absorb these job changes much more easily than the dislocations caused by the deindustrialization of the US or even the last recession. In addition, weed need to raise immigration levels, because we'd need more health Care workers than we can immediately train in the US. However, people losing health insurance jobs could be given training to become service providers if they wanted it and that would easily be paid for by the savings of universal coverage

Which work sectors will have more demand but less supply in the future?

The jobs in Health Care and Elderly Care SectorSince the proportion of elderly people are rising in developed world elderly care and health care sector will see unprecedented growth in future. The jobs in this sector can be bifurcated into two broad parts skilled medical care and semi-skilled social care. In medical sector mainly more jobs will be created for doctors who specialize in different fields of Geriatrics (nephrology, oncology etc.). Into the social sector job titles will be like personal care aides, home health aides etc. In social care for elderly people will mostly require compassion for elderly people rather than a professional degree. In Other SectorsApart from health sector, who can think on their feet and come up with creative and original ideas will also be required in future. In this respect management consultant/analysts, software Engineers, actuaries will be in high demand.Last but not the least specialists in every sectors are always in demand like scientists (mainly life science, environmental science, nanotech), eminent footballers, Artists etc.Occupations with the most job growthhttp://www.bbc.com/news/technolo...

What is the biggest problem with the U.S. health care system?

There are two big problems, one in the system, one out.

The biggest problem in the system is that it is geared to curing, not preventing disease. If more attention were placed on prevention, not nearly as much would be spent throughout the system in curing. And this is made worse by the fact that many insurance companies will not pay for prevention, only curing.

The second big problem is that insurance companies make their entire effort to prevent paying claims. There are hundreds of people working for them, and their job is to deny, not pay, claims. This makes doctors and hospitals charge more to cover the claims which are eventually denied despite their validity and the money lost on the time lag between filing and payment on those claims which are eventually paid.

Who believes that the Government can run Health Care?

Given the government's history with Social Security and Medicare does anyone believe that the US government can do a better job of running our nation's health care system? I work in the Health Care industry so here is some food for thought that I know to be fact:

When the government pays for a health care service they pay bottom dollar.

The low government reimbursement causes health care providers to make it up from the private sector via increased insurance premiums which winds up being passed down to the paying consumer.

Low reimbursements reduces the number of available health care professionals because they cannot compete and go out of business

Fewer health care professionals result in longer wait times.

All of this will only get worse when government controls the whole health care system and people will no longer have incentive to spend 12 years in school and incur 100's of thousands of dollars in debt because they will not make enough money to pay off the debt. Not to mention that on average the government operates at about a 30% efficiency rate meaning for every dollar they take in 70 cents goes to government overhead. So how will they be able to do a better job
