Taking someones name off lease?
I am the owner of a rental property. The couple that is renting the property from us are getting a divorce. The husband moved out, the wife is staying-rent is paid for the rest of the lease. The wife wants the husbands name taken off the lease so he cant just come in as he pleases....I am not sure how to go about taking his name off...can we legally just do it w/o his permission...btw she has paid for EVERYTHING with a trust fund from her fathers death. I am so unsure of what to do-they have been the best tenants anyone could have asked for. The second says "best friend Tom" as though "best friend" is a the same kind of modifier for Tom as red might be for skirt. In the first sentence, Tom is an appositive that restates the "best friend."
