Can high school make you repeat a grade if you failed?
Absolutely.If you fail a class, let’s say Algebra I, that is a graduation requirement then you HAVE to pass that class (or some equivalent credit) in order to graduate. If you fail all of your courses Freshman year, some of them might not be graduation requirements but any that are you will have to take again. If you continue failing Algebra I every year, they will not magically let you take Geometry unless someone in the registrar’s office makes a mistake.Some schools require a certain number of credits completed before they call you an advanced name such as Sophomore or Junior. Most don’t, so you may still be called a Sophomore after failing all your classes. But unless you make up credits (not all schools have options for doing this) then you will just get to be a Senior multiple times.Ultimately, if you don’t complete sufficient credits before you turn 21, then they stop having you repeat grades. You simply get to pay for a G.E.D. test if you want a High School Equivalent diploma.
First Day of 8th grade (: what to wear?
Wake up early to give yourself time to get ready. Like at least 2 hours before you have to leave the house. That way, you won't be rushed to get ready. Clothes: I'd say go shopping for a new wardrobe! Hit up your favorite stores. Since I don't know your style, buy some of your favorite style of clothes, but branch out a bit. If you love Hollister, try Charlotte Russe. I'd say go to Wet Seal, Hollister, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, Pac Sun, Abercrombie, TJ Maxx and Claire's. They all have cute stuff for teens. I would say for the first day, get a cute fashionable top, in a bold cool color like blue, purple or green. Pair it with jeans. How you should act: Ok, this will sound cliche, but be yourself. Don't act fake and be nice to everyone. Compliment people who look sad. Strike up a conversation with the new girl. Flirt a little with the guy you've liked since 4th grade. If someone is mean to you, be nice to them. You won't get anywhere sinking to their level. Hair: Hmm, I'd say straighten it and wear it down. Use a heat protecting spray and if needed, a spray to smooth down. But not too much, unless you want it to look frizzy and greasy! Ick! Makeup: Keep it natural. A little foundation, some white eyeshadow, mascara and black eyeliner. Keep the eyeliner subtle. And for your lips, Carmex. They have cherry and strawberry now. It smells great, keeps your lips moisturized and makes them soft and shiny! Bag: A tote bag with a cute pattern. Shoes: Blue ballet flats! I'm getting bad grades in school how do I fix this?
I'm a freshman and its my first semester and the first semester is what people check in order for me to get into university. My mom's friend's son had super good grades and took running start and sports and honors classes and he didn't get into university. I'm having really bad grades and I only have less than two weeks to fix them! I'm trying as much as I can.. but I don't know how to raise them up to A's. I'm really worried because I've set goals and was excited to see my report card with straight A's but now I feel terrible because of all the bad grades I'm having. I'm afraid my dreams won't come true.. I won't be able to get into university and get the job I've been wanting. I feel so bad!! How do I fix my grades before the semester is over? I'm afraid it's no use!! Please help :'( thanks
Do high school teachers ever fix grades for preferred students?
Only once in my 40-year career did I fix a grade for a preferred student. I was a first-year teacher. The student suffered from hydrocephalus and was emotionally unstable. She came to class every day and behaved in such a way that she was a disruption to the education of the other students but not so serious that she could have been removed from class. The other students ridiculed her. She turned in all of her assignments, but she failed them. She failed all of the tests.I asked the vice principal why they didn’t take her out of the public school and give her special help. He said the student tested slightly above what the state required for special education at that time. The parents were angry, and decided that they would keep her in high school until she graduated.I had to give her grades. Frustrated, I gave her an F on her grade card for each 9 weeks, an F on her semester test, an F on her final test and a D- for the course. Several other, more experienced teachers, did the same thing.That wouldn’t happen today, of course, because public schools in the United States now have many more resources to help disadvantaged students while keeping them in regular classes to encourage natural socialization.
Don't care about grades anymore?
So it's the first quarter of school in 8th grade. I got all B's except for Gym which was a C and Band; that was an A. My mom found out and kinda lectured me about bad grades and cussed at me a little bit. She also threatened to take away Step Team, but to be honest I don't really care anymore. She did the same thing last year and I bawled my eyes out. However now I just don't care, take it away. That would kinda be good for me. I could rest. It is probably because I've done step team for 3 years and almost quit last year. Now if she took away band that would be different. But then I would have to take Art and more P.E. So my grades would probably be worse. And then more yelling and stuff like that. I don't really see myself as a really smart person or a really dumb person. I mean if i really tried I'm sure my grades would be better. I thought my grades were pretty good considering it they could have been much much worse. I guess I'm not as motivated. Im trying to fix that since I'm going to highschool next year and GPA and all that. But i don't know how. I could have better grades but I'm fine with the grades I have now. I guess I'm just looking for motivation and/or advice. I would like your thoughts or opinions also.
Is it possible to get to Grade 8 in piano in 1-3 years?
Depends on the amount of musical experience that you have.Let’s say, you’re grade 6 or 7 then that’s very possible, you’ll probably manage within a year if you practice everyday.But if you don’t have any piano experience I’d say, no.You see, taking piano exams aren’t only just your average pieces. It’s much more than that. There are many requirements one must meet to pass the exam and achieve a decent mark.3 chosen pieces that should be memorized are a must. You need to know all the scales : Major, minor, harmonic, melodic, chromatic, dominant sevenths , diminished seventh and arpeggios. All these must be memorized by heart and some will need to be played in thirds or sixths, staccato or legato. Sight reading is another skill to be tested, where you have 30 seconds to prepare for a small passage and play for the examiner. Aural is the final and probably the hardest skill. There are few things when the examiner tests you on aural : Listening to the bass note, naming the cadences, identifying chords, to sing when given a piece of melody sheet, identifying modulations and describing the features and characteristics of a piece.After reading a brief introduction to the requirements of Grade 8, it’s not just an everyday stroll in the park now is it?Skills and techniques must be practiced daily, having a sharp ear would help as well and thinking fast will make sight reading easier. All these skill will require time and patience to perfect so I’d say 1–3 years will not be enough if one is inadequate with the amount of musical experience. I've been home schooled for 3 years now and it takes me like a whole year to complete one grade because of my parents jobs and stuff and I fell like if I go back to school all the kids in 5th is gonna be like 8 years old
I like A Girl In Grade 7 And im in Grade 8?
I like a girl in grade 7 and im in grade 8. I sortof like her and i dont know if she likes me, we talk a lot and she smiles at me alot, if i ask her out ill probably get made fun of for doing it but do you thing she likes me and will that work out if we date and any other tips you can think of thankss!!
How do you get in your right grade if your 14 in 6 grade?
Go to school online, throughout the year and summers for at least two years. You can take and finish classes faster online, if you’re willing to put in the effort and time. You can catch up but you’ll have to do double the work each year to finish two years at a time. Good luck! If kids can skip grades, you can definitely catch up if you put in the time and effort to reach your goal.
