Is it rude not to follow back someone on Instagram?
IMO, yes if you know them in real life and regularly talk to them. No if it’s a person you don’t know in real life without having first texted in a conversation. No if that person overposts like 3 posts a day which spams up the feed. No if that person posts hatred/negativity posts. But YES if you know them in real life and regularly talk to them. This is both of a rant and a logical answer, but here we go: I hang out with my friend group 7 hours a week in college. We regularly talk and stuff, but 3 of the people did not follow me back yet. From what I’ve noticed, they only follow people they’ve known for at least 365 days minimum exact (no exceptions), regardless of how often we talk. Those 3 people (1 guy and 2 girls) are very handsome/pretty, and I feel like narcissism plays a role here. Their follower to following ratio is over 150%, with one girl having a 1000%+ ratio (1000 followers to 100 following). I have a very pretty friend who instantly followed me back, though, so not all good-looking people are narcissistic :) (never stereotype, only sympathize/use logic with statistics). But yeah, remember that as long as you didn’t say anything mean or spam post, it’s never your fault but the fault of the narcissistic person who believes he/she deserves more attention in his/her life than you do.How should you handle this? Yes it’s rude, but if you’re in a friend group, try to stay nice and friendly even towards the narcissistic person — you don’t want to fight, roast, or start drama, as drama usually falls favor for the “silent” people, and you’ll look at fault rather than the narcissistic person.

Hun don't worry,if you just don't like that person and you are not interested in that person you don't have why to follow back! It's you the one who decides! Oh and about those friends that don't follow you back all i want to say is "DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THEM AT ALL" I mean you aren't going to die just because they aren't going to follow you,and you don't need their ''follow'' at all =)

THE ANSWER IS YES! I already knew but I just did this experiment just for you,... asked one of my friends to unfollow and then follow again and the notification apeared... My advice is to experiment every time you want to know something like this because Instagram policies change a lot

What happens when you follow someone on Instagram?
that person gets a notification (and in some cases also a push notification to their cellphone) when someone follows them.On Instagram, there are three main ways to interact with someone. You can like their pictures, comment on pictures, or follow them. This post can serve as your guide on how to handle all of these interactions.Likes:This is, by far, the most common form of interaction on Instagram. To like photos, go to a users page, select a photo, and double tap or hit the like button below the picture to like it.Commonly, likes are returned from the average user. Users with thousands of followers are less likely to return likes. If someone likes some of your pictures, I would recommend going to their page and liking the same number of pictures as they liked for you. If you absolutely hate their pictures, you don’t have to like any. Remember, they chose to like your pictures and you probably won’t ever hear from them again.Comments:Comments are the in-between when it comes to Instagram interactions. If someone comments on your picture, you should reply to them (this might mean thanking them for a compliment or answering a question). To do this on your own picture, type @[their username] so that they receive a notification that you replied to their comment. If you go and comment on someone’s photo, do not use @[their username]. They will get the notification because it is on their photo. Also, tagging someone on their own photo is seen as something only done by new users and will make you look unexperienced. You can also return comments as you would return likes.Follows:Follows are rare because people are always considering their “ratio”. This ratio is the number of followings compared to their number of followers.First of all, you should always follow back people that you know personally, like friends, coworkers, or family. If someone follows you and you like their pictures, follow them back. Do not feel obligated to follow them. Remember, they chose to follow you and, if you don’t know them personally, you have no need to follow them.If you choose to follow someone you don’t know personally, do not expect to be followed back. If they follow you back it is a bonus, but don’t expect them too.Good luck and remember to have fun with Instagram!
Ways to get the guy you like to follow you back on instagram?
I like this guy that I went to high school with, but I graduated a year early last year so I sadly haven't seen him since. He has a habit of dating bitchy girls and is dating one right now, which my sister said is because he's just dating what he can find at the school but I was wondering what you think I can do to get him to follow me back on instagram and get his attention? To basically Get him to realize that he's nice and cute and can do better than dating bitches like he's been doing
Why don't people follow me back on instagram?
I post selfies & camera pics of scenery from my vacations. Some people follow me back, but some don't. Is it because I don't really know them, & I don't post pics with friends, write many captions, or have a bio? Is it excessive if I put 2 selfies in a collage (I want a square feed)? I have 780 followers but follow only 150. Some of them follow a lot of people back, yet some of those people post bad quality pictures. Sorry if I sound rude, I'm just curious
Why won’t Instagram allow me to follow back?
There are a few reasons why Instagram won’t let you follow anyone. One rare case is that there’s a bug on the app. This can quickly be solved by you updating the app or restarting the device. However, a bug isn’t a common reason why you can’t follow anyone. The first reason why you can’t follow anyone is that you have followed hundreds of people in a short space of time. The following limit is roughly 160 people/per and once you exceed this by a huge amount, Instagram is going to block you from following people. You need to stop following people for a few hours, so Instagram doesn’t think that you’re using bots and spamming other accounts because this violates their T&Cs.The next reason why Instagram won’t let you follow people anymore is that your account is only a few hours old. If your account was recently made, you can’t follow a lot of people in a short space of time.I would recommend that you stick to 100 every few hours so that Instagram doesn’t think that you’re violating their guidelines. The third reason why you can’t follow people on Instagram is that you’ve been on a following/unfollowing spree in the last few hours. When you’re constantly performing these actions, Instagram will think that you’re using bots to gain follower. Therefore, they’re going to stop you from following people so that your actions can be controlled.
