How Can I Get A New Phone On Verizon When My Contract Ends In February. I Can

Can i upgrade my verizon phone early?

1. Assuming you signed a 2-year contract in June, you won't be eligible to upgrade until February of next year. So if you were to purchase a new phone from Verizon, it would cost you the full retail price- more like $600 instead of $400..

2. When you're eligible to upgrade, you do have the option of only doing a 1-year contract, but the phone will be a little more expensive then.

3. Buying a phone online or from a friend, etc. is the only way to get one other than getting one from Verizon at full price. But keep in mind that a phone like that would have no insurance, no warranty, and also might be lost or stolen so be very careful when buying online.

4. The ETF starts at $350 and goes down by $10 for every month of service that you complete.

5. You are never penalized for switching phones- only if you leave Verizon before your contract is done.

How will the Verizon iPhone launch affect AT&T?

Without competition an incumbent with a monopolistic exclusive stranglehold on a product will only invest enough to maintain the minimal viable service. AT&T's service and network has led to one of the worst mobile connections in the country- any user can attest to the fact that they can barely carry any continuous conversation without calls being dropped numerous times.  It should be illegal for any company to charge for a service that doesn't actually deliver the connection that it promised without giving refunds for all the dropped calls. AT&T knew full well that it's network was not built for the constraints that iPhone users and their data usage would create. Even after launch it never invested what was needed to fix the problem. The reason: It didn't have to. It had zero competition for anyone else because it spent less money for an exclusive deal for the iPhone than it had to spend on building out it's network to remain competitive.Verizon's entry into the marketplace with the it's own iPhone will finally create a competitive environment. This will force AT&T to compete on service rather than tight control of user choice through economic means. I hope this will lead to 2 companies offering greater and greater service at lower cost for the consumer.

Can an AT&T iPhone 5 be used in the Verizon network?

No.Verizon uses a different network technology (CDMA) than AT&T (GSM), and for LTE (the successor standard for CDMA/GSM) the 2 carriers use different frequencies. That's why there are different hardware variants of the iPhone.Even though you may have A1429, a variant supporting both networks in the same hardware, the device will be configured to work only in Verizon once it is activated for it.See here for some (technical) details on the variant differences: http://www.anandtech.com/show/63...

iPhone 5 - Verizon or AT&T?

There are three variants of the iPhone 5, differentiated by (a) whether or not they support CDMA at all and (b) which of the multitude of LTE bands are supported. There is only one CDMA version, actually, contrary to Ryan Lackey's answer suggesting there are two. That said, all three versions support 3G and below on GSM and act as world phones.Verizon supports simultaneous voice and data on LTE (as does everyone I believe). The only reason Verizon didn't support it on 3G, was that EVDO Rev. A didn't allow it, and that was Verizon's flavor of 3G. But apparently, the iPhone won't take advantage of this because of some bizarre Apple decision involving a lack of antennas! (Aside: This is stunning and stupid, but AT&T marketing is no doubt delighted. Solution -- Move all calls to Google Voice.)Verizon will support Facetime over LTE given the Share Everything plans cap data usage; AT&T will do the same so long as you migrate to a new plan.

Verizon Wireless Phone Insurance?

Verizon was having an open enrollment insurance thing so 2 days ago i added insurance to my phones (We got them in February). YESTERDAY i dropped my phone (Motorola droid razr) and the screen shattered. The whole phone is working just fine, im not having any problems with it, the screen didn't go out and the touch screen works just fine. My question is should i wait to make a claim, is there a certain amount of time that i have to have the insurance before i can make a claim? I'm afraid it might seem to them like i got the insurance after i broke my phone just to get a replacement.

What does it mean on Verizon "Cycle Ends" ?

Your billing cycle ends on 09/16/08, it does not mean it starts the same day. Your new monthly billing cycle will start at midnight on 09/17/08. This is a good way for you to check to make sure you have not gone over your monthly minutes and monthly texting allowance.

You can go online at http://www.verizonwireless.com and if you don't have an online account set up yet you can do so and then you will be able to see when you can upgrade. Typically Verizon let's you upgrade anywhere from 2 to 4 months prior to your current plans expiration date. Right now my daughter can upgrade her phone in October but her plans expiration date is in February 2009 so if she upgrade in October and opted for a 2 year plan her plan plan would now expire in February 2011. Also, just because you're eligible for an upgrade doesn't mean you have to upgrade. I didn't for 5 months so my bill was on a month to month cycle, no contract.

If I buy a Verizon iPhone 5 today, will I be able to use it on another carrier later?

Hi,let me put some light on this issue. The Verizon is shipping only CDMA iPhone 5 with GSM roaming support and GSM part is locked! If you are on contract for some time you might request to unlock GSM part but however it will work OUTSIDE USA only. You won't be able to use the phone with AT&T or T-Mobile USA.In a case you got the Verizon iPhone but you do not have Verizon account you can purchase unlock from 3rd party - there are already few trusted sites online to offer this service for a few days. That's it. Whatever else you read it false information because some of the first Verizon iPhone 5 units were not locked and hence it is possible to use them with any GSM network - I presume you are not one of those lucky owners.gsmwong

Will the AT&T and/or the Verizon/Sprint LTE versions of the iPhone 5 roam and work in Europe?

Apple's tech specs say that it should roam in Europe.   The CDMA version supports multiple GSM and related bands: CDMA model A1429*: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5, 13, 25)http://www.apple.com/iphone/spec... An interesting question is whether it will be locked or unlocked by Verizon.

Verizon is the worst! My phone keeps dying. What do i do?

My cell phone company is verizon. I'm on a family plan. I'm only 16 so no one at verizon will talk to me. Several months ago, my cell phone started acting stupid like when i turned my phone on for a few minutes it had a screen up that said searching system and it wouldn't let me do anything or call anyone. The volume was often completely screwed up, and a few other things too. Then my phone started dying very quickly after charging it. My mom finally called verizon and they sent me a new phone after we had asked for a new battery. When I got the new phone, most of those problems stopped except that the battery still died very quickly. I told my mom that there was still a problem but she never called until recently. And when she called, verizon said they couldn't do anything because they stopped making the kind of phone that i have. My battery dies within about 5 or 10 minutes after a charge of me using it to text or call someone. Then when it dies i can sometimes turn my phone back on and it will get up to a high charge again but it will very quickly die again. My phone is completely unreliable!

How many AT&T subscribers will jump to Verizon over the iPhone?

There are various (and varied) estimates out there - both for how many will switch from AT&T to Verizon ("switchers") and new Verizon iPhone customers that were already on Verizon ("Upgraders").Although the estimates I've seen for total Verizon iPhone sales in 2011 range from 8 million to 17 million, most of the estimators seem to agree that a majority of those millions will be "Upgraders". AT&T did a lot of work to make sure that was so - providing early upgrade options to all iPhone contracts ending in 2010 did a lot of work towards ensuring they locked as many people as possible into brand new 2-year contracts - to the tune of 15 out of 23 million AT&T iPhone customers. They also increased their early termination fees to Verizon levels to stem the outflow of customers ($325).All of this to say that in the coming year, the consensus seems to be that there will be somewhere between 2 and 5 million "switchers".What will be interesting is what happens beyond this year, when the two carriers will finally be on an equal footing and the consumer will be able to vote with their dollar and not be strong-armed into one network or another.
