i got an invitation letter from a friend in canada last summer when i was applying for my candian visa so i guess it will be pretty much the same .. so basically you have to type the date Your name, date of birth, address Your profession Your phone number Then on the second paragraph you type Your relative's Name, DOB, Address and Phone number in South Africa To whom it may concern, this is a formal letter of invitation for....... to come visit me in ..... for approximately ...... starting .......she will be leaving .... on the (date) to return to her home/work in south africa. she is (relationship) and her stay is for ( reason .. visting, shopping, tourism etc) She will have .........(currency) available funds for her trip and will be staying at the address listed at the top. Thank you for your time and effort with miss/mrs..... Sincerely, And you have to attach a copy of your citizenship with the invitation letter.

Nigeria has promoted tourism for decades BUT it is difficult to get a tourist visa especially compared to other African countries. You have to fill out a seven page application, show a bank statement that you have considerable funds, provide a round trip airline ticket, indicate where you will stay in Nigeria and pay $180. I understand that now you also have to go to the embassy or consulate to get photographed and fingerprinted.Nigeria has added a “visa upon arrival” which I used recently. To get that you have to be invited, get approval from the government and pay $180 for a 30 day visa.Needless to say, Nigeria makes it very difficult to visit. Other African countries do not require visas and/or have visas that can be obtained at the airport with little paperwork when a person arrives. They also cost much less.

I think you may be mixing up two things: an invitation letter is different from just a booking confirmation. An invitation letter applies when you will be staying with a friend or relative or other acquaintance. Often this person is also the guarantor, if you go that route for the Schengen visa.You should NOT ask a host for an ‘invitation letter’, but you can of course ask for a booking confirmation, if the itinerary confirmation page from the AirBnB site is not sufficient for any reason.As a host I’ve actually done this once for a guest for this exact purpose of obtaining a visa. I had a booking that went through TripAdvisor (which isn’t nearly as good a service as AirBnB, in just about every way) but this didn’t result in a usable booking confirmation. So I just made one in MS Word, using the actual booking number, money amount and of course the address and dates. That worked just fine.

Can my friend who is sponsoring my visit to the UK send me a visa here in the Philippines or do i have to process the visa application here myself ?You have to do it yourself there in the Philippines … The British have closed down a lot of their embassies now and are using Fed ex to do a lot of their work … For example … My sister in law wanted to come here to Holland and she wanted a transit visa to travel through London Heathrow … They had closed the British Embassy in Lusaka and said they would have to send it to South Africa (at extra cost) of course … The price of the visa was 34 GBP … Pounds but they wanted an extra 100 GBP just to pay for the postage … It will probably be the same in the Philippines ….
