Why do people sound like they have autotune when they sing?
No, I don't mean the digital effect autotune, but it sounds similar. I've noticed that many singers which people find to be "good" and "talented" have a "natural autotune" in their voice. What I mean is, like with an autotuned vocal track, when their voice goes up or down in pitch, it's not very "smooth" sounding. It sounds more like a piano going up and down by individual notes than a smooth transition. And I've only noticed this with modern singers, so I feel as if it has a connection to people associating autotuned singers with "good singers." Am I right when I say that they are actually trying to sound autotuned?
How to sound good on autotune?
Autotune doesn't work well with my voice either, so I can't use it. - If it's software autotune, then you have to tell the software what key & scale to tune to. If you don't know that, it won't work. - If it's an autotune mic or box, then the problem could be that your note is a halftone or more off, so that it's tuning to the wrong note. - It also happens when singers (like me) use a lot of trills & vocal sliiides.
How to sound good singing with autotune?
I am an okay singer, (not good by any means), but i do go off key sometimes while i sing. I tried autotuning a clip of me singing, but it gives it a completely different key, like higher when it's lower and vice versa. I use Audacity and Antares Autotune. Also, sometimes when I hold a note it goes shaky like i'm singing up and down quickly when in fact I am not. Any settings, tips or suggestions on how to make me sound better?

It doesn't work because T-Pain uses a studio effect style auto-tune. Thus he sounds weird if you watch a video of him performing live. Kanye sings through a vocoder. They're similar principles. They're not the same. Apart from being equally annoying. Ypu should have posted this in the singing section. "Lil Wayne" "Soulja Boy" "Auto tune" are banned words here >_<.
