Should I feel upset about my autistic cousin having a child?
There is no “should” when it comes to feelings. There is just what you feel.That said, it’s a good idea to ask yourself why you feel this way.Do you worry that your cousin isn’t able to raise a child? Why?Do you think that autistic people shouldn’t be having children? Why?There are some reasons to be upset that would be totally understandable. Maybe your cousin isn’t able to take care of themself, so how can they take care of a child?Maybe your cousin lives on the other side of the country far from family and worry how they’ll manage without support and someone to call in an emergency.Or maybe you’ve absorbed a bit too much of the common stigma against autistic people and are assuming your cousin can’t take care of a kid without really knowing one way or another. Maybe you’ve drunk the A$ kool-aid and think the world would be better if autistic people weren’t in it.None of us can answer this for you. Only you can.When you do, you need to decide what to do about it. Whatever your reasons for concern, you ultimately have three choices:*You can support your cousin and give the help they say they need*You can “support” your cousin and give the help you think they need, regardless of their wishes or requests*You can not support themChoose wisely. it is easier to destroy your relationship with family than rebuild it afterwards.
How many of you wrote off your unfriendly cousins later in life when you became adults?
I was close to a few of them when we were young. After we were adults, I tried to make them feel welcome at my home when I invited them to some of our parties, they never recipricated, never called to thank me for bringing them back into my life, they obviously don't give a shyt so I am officially done with cousins. I do not give a flying shyt about them anymore. I was the one that that made the attempts to rekindle what we had and try to be friends. I called them on occasion, I invited them to dinner at our house...never once did I get a phone call or an appreciation for the olive branch I extended. Have any of you experienced this with cousin later in life?
Anniversary gift ideas for a couple (wife is terminally ill)?
My cousin and her husband are renewing their vows on their 10th anniversary this year (next week). This may be her last year with us, she just found out she is losing her 5 yr battle with breast cancer. What kind of gift would be appropriate for them?
What is it like to have a family member with cancer?
Having a family member with cancer is terrible knowing there’s almost nothing you can do but support them in their fight. I personally watched as my grandmother died over the course of 3 years 2 of which she couldn’t even speak. The only way I can describe it is torturous what happens doesn’t entirely depend on what you do it’s more of fate, luck, and chance all working separately.Now everyone’s experience is different and effects some more than others or in different ways. I watched as my Grandma (one of my favorite people in the world) slowly die and fade away. For the last 2 years of her life she never spoke a word and then died 3 days after her 62nd birthday.My Grandmother was diagnosed when I was 9 which shook my entire world at the time. The reason it left such a lasting effect on me was because I was VERY close with my grandmother and I saw her almost every day before she was diagnosed. It’s very saddening to see a person you love so much and hold so dearly fade away and become a shell of themselves before passing away.

hello, im a male cancer and my girlfriend is a female aries. i sometimes feel like she is emotionally distant. i have no idea if this even has anything to do with signs. i have my own issues around trust and i deal with some other emotional issues from the past. so the conflict i feel can have nothing to do with aries cancer combination. curious to hear others thoughts. What kind of ribbon should you wear when a soldier is killed ?
My cousin was killed in Iraq and everybody is wanting to wear ribbons but nobody is agreeing as to what color. Some have yellow some have black and some have a combo of the both. Which is correct?
