I've lost my bank card, and need to put money into my account to cover the cost of my monthly gym membership or i'm going to get charged. I have my sort code and account number though, so can i still put money into it by going into my bank and asking someone? Will the money go in straight away?

Be prepared to know a decent amount of information about your account though for verification, so recent checks that cleared, or check card purchases made. If you opened your account there they may also have a copy of the ID you used to open it so they can find that and compare.

I ve been working for a little over a year now but my parents won t let me withdraw from the bank account my paychecks are set up to go to (I m 17 years old in the US) but I want cash because I can t always use my debit card. Sean, Unfortunately, it is legal for any company with direct access (which you have signed for) to your debit/checking/savings account... It even happens with employers who have access via direct deposit... Debit cards have fewer protections than credit cards and folks are now starting to learn that this "free" service (i.e.: electronic checking) comes with many pitfalls and dangers... Last month Sprint took $150 out of my bank without permission. I called Sprint and they apologised and said I wasn't signed up for any reoccurring payments and they said it would not happen again however, they did not refund my money. This month, the same thing happened. They took out $145 from my account without permission again. Once again, they aplogised but said I would have to call my bank and my bank would have to stop the transaction. My bank said that they have to wait for 5 days and then I can dispute it. I'm tired of disputing this every month. Isn't this like stealing when they do not have permission? I've had 2 people from Sprint tell me I do not have reoccurring payment set up.

Yes they can. It is in the contract. What you can do is ask the two companies to talk to each other. If Chrysler said they were going to pay and did not you are entitled to a refund from Chrysler. If Chrysler did pay and it was applied to the wrong bill Enterprise will give you a refund. If them talking to each other does not work take your proof of payment to Enterprise to Chrysler and ask for a refund. If they say it needs to work the other way around ask Chrysler for what is called a P.O. number (purchase order). One of those should clear things up.
