How Can I Get My 1 Month Old Infant To Sleep About 4-5 Hours Staright At Night

My 3 month old baby is sleeping 4 to 5 hours at a stretch. Is it okay to leave him or should I wake him to feed him?

Babies survived and thrived long before clocks were invented. They know what they need and when they need it. They also have a well-established method of alerting you to their more pressing needs. Allow him to sleep when he's tired. My grandmother always said sleep was when babies did their growing. Feed him when he is hungry; change him when he is wet. Love him all the time. The first few months are pretty straight forward. But it's  going to get complicated!

How do I get my 6 month old to stop night feedings?

When he was 3 months old, he did go about 6-8 hours usually (9/10 pm-4/5 am) without feeding. That lasted about a month and then he started teething and was up a bunch of times a couple nights in a row. He seemed to only calm down when I fed him. But since then, he has not stopped. I fear we got in a bad habit. He now wakes up sometimes only 3-4 hours after his last feeding and bedtime. And then he'll continue to wake and eat every 3 hours or so just like during the day. This means I sometimes feed him 3 times in the middle of the night. He's probably around 18 lbs and six months old. Aren't babies supposed to sleep like 10-12 hours straight by this age? I always try to rock him back to sleep when he cries (my husband tries too) but he won't quiet down unless I nurse him. Sometimes he nurses for 4 minutes and other times he demands the other side after he's drained the first. After 6 months of broken sleep I am ready to get a solid night and I am pretty sure he should be ready too. We will be asking the pediatrician about Ferberizing at his 6 month checkup next week. Have any of you done this? Did it work well? Or did your baby just spontaneously outgrow the middle of the night feedings? Am I wrong to assume he really doesn't need to eat and we have just formed a bad habit?

How long does your four month old sleep?

When my daughter was 4-5 months old she would go to bed at around 9-10pm and sleep through till 7-8am with out waking for a feed. She slept through the night at 6 weeks old. She would have 3 naps during the day. One straight after her morning feed for about 1-2 hours. Then again at 11am-12pm for 1 hour and again at 5pm for about 1 hour sometimes 2. She would feed (breastfed) every 3 hours during the day. About 5-6 feeds a day.

How much should a 4 month old puppy sleep?

A LOT. Puppies spend almost all their time sleeping - just like human infants.

Congrats on your new puppy :)
