How Can I Get My 3 Year Old Dog To Poop Outside

How to train my dog to poop outside?

1
It helps if you have a command for going poop. I use the words “go poopies”. Preferably, when your dog is a puppy start training him to go in one place in the yard. It’s still possible in older dogs, it just takes longer. This will take a bit of your time up front, but the payoff is a nice poop-free yard.
When your dog has to go poop, put him on a leash. (Use the command to go poop frequently throughout the training and later.) Walk him to the section of the yard you want him to poop. Say the poop command. Stay with him until he is finished. Make sure it’s a big enough section for him to search for just the right place. My dog sniffs every last piece of grass to find just the right place to poop. Praise, praise, and reward him!! Do this each time for several days.
Step2
When ready to test the results, put the leash on the dog as you did before. Don’t hold the leash. Then open the door, say the command, and let the dog go out. Keep saying the command until you are sure he knows what he’s supposed to be doing. Go out with him and encourage him to go to “the spot”. Grab the leash and correct him if he’s not in the right place. Again praise and reward him for his success.
Step3
The next step is to remove the leash, say the command, and go out with him to the spot. Again praise and reward the dog.
Step4
Next step, open the door, say the command, and let him out without the leash. Watch from the door to shot out a command if needed. Pointing to “the spot” while stating the poop command again helps some dogs.
Step5
Lastly, he should go to the spot each time. If he starts to stray, use commands to get him going in the right direction. You can go back to the leash part anytime he needs review or a longer training time. Don’t give up, it’s great!!
now i feed my dog my dog the same time every eve at 6 and he poos every morning at 8..so train when you know he need to go ok remember to praise him really well when he done.

My dog WILL NOT pee or poop outside.?

I have a Terrior I just got from the pound. We take her outside to go potty and she just stands there like im stupid. And she is too distracted. But we bring her inside, and she goes on the carpet. I rub her nose in it I tell her no, and she still does it. I have had her for 2 weeks and shes gone poop and pee outside , once. So she knows she's supposed to, but she doesn't. She also won't eat her dry food. She only likes wet food and stuff... I just idk, she won't eat and she wont poop outside.

My dog won't poop outside anymore; how do I get the ***** to behave?

We got her when she was 2 months old and housebroke her in three weeks. We had a small fenced in yard and took her out every two hours until she had a set routine. A year later we moved. The yard isn't fenced in ,but there is a dog park. I take her out every day. She'll poop once in the dog park ,but never on walks. She waits untill we're back home and my eyes aren't watching her. Recently she one upped me and decided not only to crap/piss inside , but on clothing too. I put clean laundry on the guest bed until i put it away and the dog decided to crap on it instead. The dog is nearly two now. My husband refuses to discipline her or see what she does as wrong. It's up to me to fix this problem. What should I do? Also I have another dog too. Adopted her from a shelter, she goes out half as much as the other dog and never poop or pisses inside. She's my furry little angel and the only real comfort I have now. I treat them both with love and give them plenty of atttention and affection. I tried to win the bad one over w/ discipline/treats/toys and love. The kicker is if the bad dog wasn't a pretty dog my husband would've gotten rid of her. I now hate this dog and would like nothing more than for it to die. I am tired of my stepping in her poop or picking it up after a two hour walk waiting for her to crap. Her urine has left a stench no amount of cleaning will get rid of. What do I do before I lose it and kill her? Don't bother w/ a reply if you're just going to give some stupid advice or a smart alack remark. You have no idea of the hell this dog is putting me through.

My 6 year old HOUSE BROKEN dog will not poop outside anymore!?

I've had my dog since she was 6 weeks old...she has been house trained since she was about 1 and a half, with the exception of a few accidents when left in the house for a long period of time or sneaking around and peeing while I'm gone, which resulted in me buying her a cage. She only goes in the cage when no one is home, or overnight (because she's sneaky). Over the last year she has been pooping in her cage for NO reason! When she does poop outside, I have to tell her to poop at least 5 or 6 times before she actually goes. Ex: last night I took her outside...she didn't poop....I put her in the cage for the night and went back 10 minutes later and she pooped. She's been outside twice this morning and didn't poop, only to come back in the house and poop in the cage AGAIN! She only does this when she's in the cage, not when she's out. BUT....she doesn't seem to have an issue with the cage because she's had one for years and sometimes goes in there on her own. Every once in a while she will poop on her own outside but mostly she doesn't unless forced. Does anyone know what can cause this sudden change in a dog's behavior besides BRAIN DAMAGE! >:o(

How do I train my 3 month old labrador to poop outside?

Hey congrats for being a Lab parent.See before proceeding i would like to tell you i too have a lab puppy 5months and he has done poop hardly 2–3 time in home.See dogs are men best friends but when they are small and too cute please understand you need to dedicate yourself with him/her understand their need for next 3 months at least, initially you need to regularize his/her feeding time strictly , Labs loves eating he can eat all day all time , so its important you calibrate his habits as per yours. They are one of intelligent breeds among dogs and learn fast. So once you have feed your puppy observe him/her at this stage they are really fast and once in two hours you need to take him out , Please See don’t leave him alone if you cant monitor .Post breakfast/lunch/snacks/dinner after an hour take him out just casually if he does pee or poop give him/her a treat (i would suggest puppy treats) i believe if you observe his behavior you can identify what he/she wants like if they start sniffing floor take them out ,Basically you too also need to learn him/her before you make them learn. Its a dual end relationship just by observing you will understand what they want.Don’t beat ,shout at your puppy at this stage just if he/she does same thing out give a treat and am sure in coming time your lab will signal you when he needs to go out. My 1 year old dog keeps pooing in the house. How do I stop this?

Three things: Take him out for walks frequently. For the first three weeks take him for an hour or half an hour. Then after a few weeks start ending the walks when he poops. He will quickly learn that walking ends when he poops. Soon he will hold thinking that the walk won’t end but once you turn around signaling the end of the walk, he will quickly void knowing that the end of the walk is nigh. Two, take him for walks with other dogs or, baby sit a house trained dog for a week and he will naturally imitate the other. I once got a new puppy which was given to me because they couldn’t housebreak him. He didn’t pee or poop once in the house because he just followed my other dog who was already trained.Three, congratulate him every time he makes you a gift outside.Four (I lied), don’t ever scold or punish him for doing it in the house. He had to go. It was probably your fault for not walking him enough. Dogs often need to poop shortly after eating because the food pushes on the contents of what is already in the intestines. A good rule of thumb is every time you have to void, your dog may have to also.Five, crate him during the hours you suspect he is doing the deed. Over night, when you are at work . . .Maybe, since he is still a puppy, there may be a physiological reason. For instance, boys often grow bone and muscle tissue faster than their organs, such as the kidneys. It is often common for an 8 year old boy to still wet the bed because his larger body is creating more waste than his tiny underdeveloped kidneys can handle. So what do most parents do? They punish, yell or humiliate the boy when it is not really his fault.Never punish a dog for doing what dogs do. YOU need to adapt to accommodate their doggy natures and bodily needs. I don’t know why people expect them to adopt human habits.SIX, your dog loves you and wants to spend time with you. Letting them out in the yard alone is not fun. Often they get bored with their yard and will just sit by the door thinking they are being punished. Go for walks so the movement can help getting things moving along.

How often does a 3 year old dog poop?

Our 3 year old dog pooped in the morning but has not since that time. I took him out at 8:20 and its 10:01 now. I really need some help knowing if this is normal or if we need to take him to the vet or if hes going to poop in he house tonight! I've been trying to potty train him and I don't think this is going to help that process. We started taking him out a half hour after he' eaten and he wont even try. He pees on everything and never poops. I've taken him out 3 times hoping that he will in the last 20 minutes. We have been following the training steps perfectly but he still wont budge. Please help me!!

Help!!!! English Bulldog won't poop outside!!!?

We just got our English Bulldog back from my mom because we couldn't have animals where we were living at the time! Needless to say she didn't potty train him like she said she would since she volunteered to keep him since it was our son's dog! Now that we have gotten him back at nearly 3 years old, he poops in my daughter's room! He will pee outside just fine! He has only peed in the house to mark his territory on some stuff that came from my inlaws that smelled like their poodle! Any ideas on how i can get him to poop outside? Would it be better to build a pen out back and let him out for a while with me looking after him? I walk him on a leash for almost an hour and nothing! He sleeps in his kennel at night and holds it too so i know he can control his bladder and bowels! Also he wont really eat much either! Could this be because of the big change he just went through? Going from a bad environment with my parents to being back with us after 2 1/2 years later? Is it ok for him to sleep in a kennel all night? It's a HUGE kennel! He has quite a bit of room in it! My husband just hates leaving him out at night because that is when he decides to poop in the house! He won't do it during the day! Just at night!

Little dog poops outside my bedroom door, what should I do?

So I moved into a room in a house where a family lives. The parents have 3 kids and 3 months after I moved in they bought the 4 yr old a small puppy as a birthday gift. At the time the puppy had full reign of the house at all the kids played with it all the time.
However shortly after they realized that the puppy started pooping all over the place, so they decided that the puppy should be confined to the attic (which is where my room is) and they placed wee wee pads all over the place. But the puppy ignores the wee wee pads and has gone as far as popping all over the stairs which lead to the attic and also right outside my door. Worse still, none if them clean up the poop, even for weeks in a row.
Needless to say the attic smells like a bathroom, and it is very easy to step on the poop on the way up the stairs, as the puppy poops there too. Not only have they stopped playing with the puppy, they ignore the poop since they live downstairs and the problem is confined to the attic, where my room is.
What should I do? Any advice will be helpfull.

My dog will not poop outside anymore... HELP!!!!!!!!!?

We have a 6 month female lab/boxer. She is a very energetic dog that we almost had housebroken. We had a good schedule for taking her out. First in the morn around 7, again at 1, then when we got home home at 6, again sometimes around 10 or 11. She always did her business and only would have minor accidents. This past weekend she went to stay with a friend (who has her brother) he said she was terrible all weekend and now we can have her outside for a good 30 min first in the morn and nothing , but 5 min after we get inside she'll go find a spot and do her business. Worse of all this happens everytime we take her outside. It's now taking its toll and I want her back to how she was before.....HELP!!! Need more info just ask!!
