How Can I Get My Horse Move

Noises to get a horse moving...?

I work with draft horses, that are trained in the Amish country.

Kissing will get them to move, but they seem to also move by telling them to "step up"

They also know the typical back, and some usually move quick with a "get" pronounced louder and different. I cant really type it.

If you continue to use leg pressure and words or noises that you like, the horse will get used it. The one I work with have gotten used to my common clucking.

I wish I could remember more, but I kinda just do or say them naturally, and most of the stuff I do to get them to move is all for driving.

How do horses move their tails?

Since horses tails are just hair, how do they move it? Is it a secret? Please explain! 10 points* if you can guess which Marvel villain bore a horse baby! Thank you for your time!

**The 10 points are special imaginary points that do not have anything to do with Yahoo!

My horse moves when I mount?

okay, so my method will take a bit of time but it really does work. Take your horse around to the mounting block and every time your horse pushes his butt away from you, get off the mounting block and straighten him up again (even if you have to do this 50 + times). As i said, this will take some time for the horse to register not to move though. Allow yourself at least 20 minutes. Be persistent and dont get frustrated/hit your horse (be firm though). After a while he just won't bother moving away and he will just stand there. Its better to catch this bad habit before it gets to a point of no return.

hope i helped!! :) good luck

In the horse-cart problem, the horse moves because the earth pushes it, so wouldn't the cart pull back with the same force?

The cart pulls on the horse with the same force on the horse as the horse applies on the cart. In a world with no exterior force if you pull on something it will go in the direction towards you while you go in a direction towards it. You can demonstrate this by sitting on a rolling chair and pulling on another chair. However, the horses has other forces acting on it too. The horse is also pushing the ground opposite to the direction it wishes to go. The Earth pushes back. So as long as the horizontal force by the ground on the horse is greater than the force exerted by the cart on the horse, the whole system moves in the direction the horse is pulling the cart.

My horse wont turn left!?

when in the saddle my horse wont turn left...and when u pull on the left rein, she freaks out....she has a history of being ridden only in an arena(what a sin!)...any ideas on how to teach her to turn left?

My horse isn't eating and wont really move what is wrong with her?

okay so im pretty much freaking out because she is one of my best friends literally.. she's only 12 and wednesday she was fine we went on a good ride she was acting normal and everything, she's got an athletic figure because she's my barrel mareits like im always trying to get her to gain weight but she's not skinny she's just in shape... well anyways so wednesday she was fine but yesterday i go up to the pasture to feed the horses and my gelding came running over as both of them usually do when i call them, but only he did, she was just standing over by the tack shed across the pasture. i threw their food out into two piles as always and the gelding started eating but she still wouldnt come over so i go over to her, and usually if i just walk up to her she'll run away wanting to get chased or something well not then she just let me go right up to her and everything... finally she walked away a little bit but she's not limping or anything i got some apple treats to give her which are her favorite and she wouldnt eat them i tried grain too and nothing... i led her over to her food pile and she just stared at it ... this is not like her at all... so then i went outside of the pasture and picked her some alfalfa which she always will eat ... she nibbled at it and then just let it hang out of her mouth... what is wrong with her? she will not eat.. so then i left but came back to the pasture 4 more times one time she was back across the pasture standing the others she was just standing near her hay pile but wasnt eating it :( i was going to sleep up at the pasture but i ended up going home around 3am because it was too cold, but then i went back up early this morning and she was still just standing around, i offered her more apple treats and out of a handful she ate like 4, i made her walk around, she trotted away from me but it was so lazy ..... she's just not being herself at all and im worried, i threw out more hay but im sure the other horse ate it....

i have barrel races starting up in two weeks that go all summer that i have been running her in for the past 2 years, i dont care if i have to give them up for her but she enjoys them as much as me.. i want my girl to be herself again :(

what do you think could be wrong? were most likely going to call the vet later today, but i was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what could be wrong.. thank you so much :)

How do you make a horse stop moving so you can put the saddle on them?

With a lead rope and lunge whip, get the horse moving in a circle around you for a few minutes, then switch directions and repeat. (Don’t whip the horse, just touching them or even just wiggling the whip by their flanks should get them moving.) Then stop. The horse will stop. They much prefer standing still than moving. Now, try again. If the horse moves, patiently put the saddle down and repeat the process. No need to get flustered, just stay patient and calm throughout this process. Now, stop and try to saddle him again. If the horse moves (and he probably will) repeat this whole process.Count on this all taking 15 min to a half hour or more. Eventually, the horse will shy from the saddle less and less each time. Soon he’ll figure out that if he just stands still, you’ll stop the damn circles.Once he stands still for you, put the saddle on (without cinching) then take the saddle off. Do this a dozen times until the horse gets bored - actually he’s getting de-sensitized.Repeat this whole process as often as needed. IMPORTANT: do NOT let that horse even think about moving a muscle. This problem is NOT fixed until he stands like a statue. Period. Tolerate nothing less! This drill also works for climbing up in the saddle. That horse is NOT allowed to move until you are seated, comfortable, and ready to ride.Remember, if you are not ALWAYS training your horse (100% consistency) then you are un-training him. This drill also works when you are riding and he acts up. Ride him in small, tight, annoying, circles, left and right, figure 8’s - hard - then stop. He’ll soon figure out any unwanted stunts he pulls will result in circles. When you stop, give him a few seconds to calm himself then ride on. Repeat as often as necessary. ALWAYS have UNLIMITED patience and never, ever get flustered. If riding w/others, tell them what you’re going to do and just have them wait while you go through this whole deal.Soon, you’ll have a dead-broke horse that will respect you as boss and you’ll both have a fine ride. Watch some Clinton Anderson videos on YouTube. Always remember that a horse cannot learn ANYTHING when when it is scared and the rider is beating the hell out of him. ONLY when they are calm does anything stick.

Sims 3 pets- my horse is stuck wont move or do any action?

You can try use resetSim (First name) (Last name) in the cheatbox.

But they may not for pets, maybe try resetPet (First name) (Last name).

Why does my horse move away when I try to mount him?

First off, he has a sore back. That could be a possible cause, but it has gotten a lot better.
So, when I go to use the mounting block, he steps away from me or walks forward. Usually he moves his haunches away from me. I can tell it is because he doesn't want me on him, or something. So I always have to move the mounting block all over because he won't stand still. And it is not because he is a forward aholic or impatiant, he is very laid back. I don't know whats wrong or how to solve this. It is also a problem because I like to ride him with a halter bareback and it is very hard to mount him with no bit to try to stop him, even though that doesn't help. I am too short to jump on his back, plus that might hurt his back. Any suggestions?? Thanks(:
