How can I get my Parents to stop watching so much tv?
Unfortunately, some people do get addicted to the television. I totally understand how you feel. I am total outdoor person/ project starter. I am doing anything BUT watching TV! Reading, drawing, painting, gardening, exercising, walking my dog at the park, working my butt off to make more money, going out to movies, restaurants, etc. meeting new people etc!!! :D I personally do not watch TV at ALL. I don't even have one in my room. My fam likes to sit in front of the TV all day, and that's cool for them, but you can't get them to stop, unfortunately. It has to come from inside them to want to change, and if they CHOOSE not to, they won't regardless of what you say. Just find ways to live AROUND it.
Should I stop watching my favorite tv shows if my parents don't want me watchin them?
I love the show degrassi and my parents won't let me watch cause they say it is inaproate for me to watch wen though I'm 13. They won't let me watch dance moms even though I love that show too! I sometimes watch it in my basement really quietly but once my mom caught me and took away my phone for a week. Should I watch it behind their backs or just stop watching even though it is my favorite show? I mean I LOVE the shows and they won't let me watch them!
How do I get my mom to stop watching reality tv?
Lol. You don't. Just kidding. Maybe it's something that really gets her mind going. Something about the drama gets her excited so if I were you I'd do things with my mom like take her out, carry interesting conversations, etc. that's probably what she's missing and what she could be seeking in reality TV.I hear a lot of people complain about their kids or parents watching too much TV but then when it comes down to it, the complainer is usually doing nothing to engage with that person anyhow. I don't mean you. I'm just saying hypothetically.Like so many parents complain about their kids on heir phones or on TV but what are the parents doing to engage their kids? Do they take them out? Do they talk to them? Do they help support their talents and interests?
How do I convince my parents to stop watching serials?
You can't hope to change what they have been doing for years that easy it's a part of their lifestyle, kind of loop we built to keep our self occupiedThe best you can do is try to talk to them and give them alternatives which can entertain them and also can be utilised as wellMy mom promised me she would stop watching all TV series from now on and start to work on her English ,well she hasn't stopped watching the TV but now she also reads a little bit so in my point of view that's a chance and I'm happy she is doing that
What do you do if your parents are types who watch tv all day?
What do you do if your parents are types who watch tv all day? I've always felt so frustrated with my parents. They don't do anything except watch tv all day. They've been like this for as long as I can remember. When I was little my mom's soap operas were more important than me. Now that I'm older, both of my parents are glued to the tv every day. My mom has always been a stay at home mom. My Dad works but comes home and watches tv. Nowadays I wish my parents had been "doers" or pursued their interests to show me by example. I'm currently trying to get a better job, learn new skills and get another freelance job going. I don't have an example in my parents. Someone to show me how to be assertive, how to go for something, how not to give up. What irks me the most is my parents never bothered to hold me accountable for anything. For example, I schedule a job interview for myself and then I don't go to it. Or, I want to draw something that inspires me but don't follow through. I do the best I can to rev myself up to go do things but I wish I'd had better examples of how to live life. I haven't watched television in a about five years. If your parents were like this, how did you feel? What did you do? How did you motivate yourself to live a better life?
My parents don't let me watch my favorite TV shows?
Ok, I'm 14, and I'm not gonna watch Hannah Montana my whole life... I personally like shows for older people now... Like the secret life of the American Teenager, True life, Rob & Big, Sex and the City... Like every time I'm watching ABC Family ( NOt nessicarly the secret life of he American Teenager) but she sees the commecial for it, she says: "Remeber kids, no one is allowed to watch this..." I do think I'm responsible for watching these shows since I actually knows whats happening in them and I do make sure that my younger siblings aren't around me when I watching...
I hate my parents because they are boring what should I do?
I am 14 and I have very old parents, my father is 70 and my mother is 56, that's probably why they are so boring. My dad is retired and he just sits at home all day reading newspapers or watching tv, my mom just works all day and comes home and puts make up on and then watches tv, she spends so much time putting make up on even though she's just staying at home. That's pretty much what they do everyday, they just sit down and watch tv, they are lazy. They never like to do anything fun, I am home all day because we never go anywhere, the only place where we go is the grocery store... how boring. We have never actually went somewhere as a family before, whenever I tell them this they get defensive. I hate them so much, they think I'm the problem. Who sounds like the problem me or them? Don't you agree that they are stupid and boring?
How does one stop his/her own parents from watching mediocre mentality instating TV serials in India?
See if you tell them to stop watching these stupid serials they won't. InsteadĀ encourage them to watch some good tv shows. For example tell them to watch one episode of a TV show which you like (they are Indian parents and you are theirĀ daughter , I don't think they will refuse you), if they liked it, they will themselvesĀ start watching that serial. Similarly introduce them to more good serials in some time and gradually they will themself realize how stupid other TV shows are and will stop watching it. But personally i think that you should let them watch whatever they like to watch even if it is stupid to you. My mom watches a lot of stupid serials but I never stop her.. Why? Because she doesn't stop me from watching my favorite TV shows like GoT(full of nudity), House of cards(that Jesus Christ scene if had happened in India, every family would have banned their children from watching it). So you should not stop them watching their favorite TV shows but of course you should try to introduce them to good tv shows also.
Is it inconsiderate to ask my dad to stop watching TV past 10:00 PM on school nights?
You dad is being rude and inconsiderate to watch TV at a sound level that disturbs you. You have every right to ask him to reduce the sound so you can get some rest. However, he might be tired and grumpy after a long hard day at work, and want to watch a later evening program to relax. So it is also possible that you are being selfish and thinking only of yourself . How do we solve our dilemma? Technology to the rescue. Yea.There are all kinds of digital wireless hearing systems and head sets designed for people who are hard of hearing. It allows them to turn the volume way up and others to hear at normal or no TV speaker volume. There are sound eliminating ear buds designed to allow you to sleep. These are much cheaper than the TV hearing systems.Go to the drug store and ask for some ear plugs for noise. These are cotton with wax in them designed for people who have a spouse who snores. I always took a pack on hunting and fishing trips when I would be sharing a cabin or tent. They only cost a few dollarsParents are a pain sometimes, but just imagine life without them /https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_...https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_...Amazon.com: tv ear phones
How do I convince my teenage daughter to stop watching so much television?
Well, I didn't allow much television. They could watch it after supper for an hour or two. On the weekends, Saturday, they were allowed to watch cartoons until 10, then it was off until after supper. Sunday, they could watch football with their dad, but if not they got the hour or so before bed. After school they had an hour to see friends, play, or whatever else ( no TV) then, homework until supper, after supper either they finished homework or watched what we were watching, before getting ready for bed. There wasn't much time to watch television. Why isn't she busy with friends, animals, or hobbies? You're the adult! Help her find something to put some energy into and she'll also be healthier!I also might add that we have one TV and we all watch the same programs. We eat together without the TV, also. You eat more when you're distracted from what you're eating.and family is important, so family suppers are important to find out what is going on ineach others world's.
