How Can I Get My Photos Back From Flickr

Flickr: How can I backup my photos?

This seems to be the first instance of Flickr making this mistake since they began operation, so the risk seems low. But then, they never promised to be a backup service for you in the first place: Is Flickr a secure backup solution for my pictures? I fear two things; they may clumsily lose my pictures and they may get hacked easily. Does anyone have some insight into these issues and/or experiences either way?But to start, you should have planned from the start to back-up our images before you even sent them to Flickr. Since you did not, the first step is to pull all of the photos from your Flickr account. See: Is there some easy way to download all the photos in a Flickr set all at once? Then, considering using a photo management package that uploads to Flickr for you. These tend to also store other information about your photo, so it does not get lost. See: What photo management software do professionals use to manage large quantities of images? and What's the best way to organize a large set of photos on Windows?I find that Lightroom, which uploads to Flickr painlessly, can also store your original caption/description and photo title and even keeps a log of user comments for each photo! You would not be able to get the comments back up to Flickr if the photo was deleted from their servers, but at least you would have the original record stored somewhere.

Why do photos on Flickr disappear ?

This sounds quite odd. Flickr don't normally delete individual photos, they either delete the whole account or make it NIPSA (not in public search areas).

There are certainly restrictions on using Flickr as a host. You must ensure that the photo links back to the Flickr photo page, and you must never use Flickr to host web graphics or banners. If you do that you're running the risk of having your account deleted.

The only suggestion is to contact Flickr staff - http://www.flickr.com/help/with/photos/ and use the Help by Email link at the bottom of the page. It normally takes 3-5 working days for them to respond.

I'll keep a watch on this to see if you can give further info.

I'm looking through my photos and videos on Flickr and my old videos from my old Panasonic FX8 will not play on Flickr.?

I just get "The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported."
The videos also won't play on my computer when I download them. (Windows 8.1)
Properties says it's a Quicktime Movie .mov, but it won't play on my Quicktime Player ("Error -2048: Couldn't open the file because it is not a file that Quicktime understands") or any of the other players on my computer.
Also, Windows Movie Maker is not allowing me to open the video and save it as a .wmv. ("The file might be corrupted or in a format that Movie Maker doesn't recognize. This movie can't be saved or published until this .mov is removed from the project. Error 0xC946002C.")
I also downloaded the Movavi conversion software, but that won't open the video either.
And I no longer have the old camera.
What can I do to watch these old memories???

How can I migrate all my 40000 Flickr photos and videos to Google Photos?

The only way to do it is to download the photos and videos from Flickr on your computer and then upload them to Google Photos. But keeping the number of files in mind, this process might tend to be really slow. So, you need a faster uploader/downloader and for that I recommend PicBackMan. It supports both the services and definitely accelerates both the process. With its 7-day free trial, you can bulk download your photos and videos from Flickr and upload all of them on Google Photos at a faster speed.Another important thing that you need to know is that Google Photos provides an unlimited free storage but restricts the resolution up to just 16 megapixels for images and 1080 p for videos. This might compress the original resolution which was on Flickr.
