How can i get my pug to accept nail lipping?
Lots of dogs can't stand nail clipping. I'm not a fan of tranquilizing for grooming services though. It's the owners responsibility to play with their paws and gradually get them used to clippers as puppies. It's definitely hard on groomers to do these dogs all the time and many of them should be turned away from nail services because it puts a lot of stress on the dog too. His previous owners probably just never took the time. I'd try getting myself a pair of clippers, and using treats to get her used to them. See if you can clip one nail at a time and then praise and reward her. If your groomer will participate that is even better because then you could get her excited about going to get groomed too.
