How Can I Get Through This Weekend Depression

My depression's gotten worse?

I'm normally happy and all, especially with my friends at school but everytime I go home, especially on the weekends I get really depressed because I don't remember many happy moments anymore, feel like people hate me and all the happy memories fade away. Nothing feels real anymore and I feel like a shut-in that hasn't gone outside in decades. It changes when I go to school, but then it comes back when I don't go anywhere for at least an entire day. Earlier I was sitting in the shower, and a japanese song randomly popped up in my head and I started singing it, but i didn't realize that I was until a couple of minutes later. I felt like someone was going to wake me up and tell me that this life was all a dream, and none of you people really exist. I don't know how to tell my doctor because quite frankly she'll probably just say that it's puberty taking its toll on me or something and I have horrible anxiety about everything. My mom's constantly triggering me and when I ask her to leave me alone (politely keep in mind) she doesn't. She just gets mad and keeps bugging me. My environment is ok, my friends are great and no one bothers me all that much. I don't have much motivation to do work anymore and I tried to commit suicide the day before Thanksgiving but I failed. I'm also failing a lot of classes because of my post concussion symptoms. What do I do? ;-;

Depression after Cocaine use?

I get really depressed after using cocaine. Lately I have been going on coke binges, I buy a 8ball and just lock myself in my room, blast my music and just snort away, it last the whole weekend, from Friday night to sunday night. I think my roomates know Im doing this cuz I become really antisocial and just spend the entire weekend in my room. (the reason I become antisocial is because I dont want them seeing my 'high' cuz you can really tell when someone is high on coke. Im spending money I dont really have and should be saving. Anyways after my binges I become really depressed. I really want to stop cuz I know my family knows about my problem (well i suspect they know...hmm maybe paranoia?) and I dont wanna be judged as "the coke head"....anyways Im depressed now. Im locked in my room alone, depressed....Ugh, I hate this.....

Is there such thing as weekend depression?

It could be possible. Maybe being busy Monday-Friday keeps your mind occupied so you don't think negative thoughts. Then, come the weekend, when you have more free time, your mind may think more about negative thoughts. If you try to stay just as busy on the weekends as you do during the work week, your weekend depression may get better. Try to plan activities on the weekends that you enjoy so you look forward to the weekends.

Why do I always feel depressed on weekends?

Your life on weekends is usually different from your life during the week. Ima make a bunch of assumptions so dont get mad at me :P You probably go to work or school during the week. So you are around other people. Maybe these people make you happy, so then because of them, you are not depressed. Maybe, during the week, you are too busy with work or school to have time to think depressing thoughts. Then on weekends, you are away from those people. You miss them. Maybe they are doing stuff together that you couldn’t go to. But whatever it is, you are sad that you are away and then feel depressed. Or, on weekends you have a ton of free time but nothing to do, which results in feeling bored. Ive found boredom often leads to depression.

How to distract yourself from depression?

Recover from depression one step at a time
Recovering from a depressive episode or managing depression long-term takes energy and planning. You may think, how am I going to find energy or motivation when I feel so poorly?
Depression can strip you of your self-esteem, self-confidence and motivation. Approach this in the same way you would approach a friend, loved one or child. You would approach helping that person in a reasonable, caring manner. Do the same for yourself. The key is to begin with small steps.
Say you want to begin exercising, attending to bills or mail, increasing your socialization or housework. Would you tackle all of these simultaneously? Of course you wouldn't. Pick one that is a priority to you. You then will need to set up a reasonable plan as to how to proceed with accomplishing your goal.
Let's go with exercise first. Overall, your goal may to improve your health. Your goal may be to walk a mile but how would you do this? You would train by walking one step at a time. The idea is to be your own cheerleader, be kind to yourself. You deserve to feel good and to be happy. Set up reasonable goals and then honestly rate them using the 1-10 scale. It is OK if you need to change your goal. Find a support person to share your goal with. Studies show that this will make it more likely that you will follow through. Once you have accomplished your first goal, you will find your self-esteem and confidence are boosted. Don't stop now, set up your next goal. Set your self up for success! You can do it!

Depression from ecstasy use?

Cause:

When you’re rolling (high on X) have you ever thought “how is it possible to fell this good”? No, it’s not the MDMA. It’s what the MDMA causes to occur in your brain. Serotonin plays a vital role in regulating one’s mood. MDMA causes your brain to release a flood of serotonin into your system for a period of about 3-4 hours. During this period, your mood is enhanced to a level that someone who has never taken XTC will probably never understand. There is a LIMITED amount of serotonin in your brain. Guess what happens when you’re rolling for 3-4 hours with nothing to replenish your serotonin supply? You got it…your supply is wiped out, or lowered to dramatically low levels. After rolling, Serotonin levels can take in excess of 2 weeks to return to normal (on its own). Remember, serotonin “controls” mood. It helps to calm you down when you’re mad, sad, ECT… If your body doesn’t have an appropriate amount of serotonin, how can it appropriately control your emotions/mood?

Remedy:

5-HTP – The solution. You can purchase 5-HTP at most drug stores. It’s the precursor to serotonin. 5-HTP will play a vital role in returning your serotonin supply back to normal (or better). You will literally feel a dramatic uplift in your mood within an hour, or less of taking 5-HTP. Remember to take the 5-HTP with a meal, or even just a snack. 5-HTP will yield AMAZING results, I promise!

Note:

You WILL notice a dramatic improvement once you take the 5-HTP. Don't allow that to give you an excuse to continue popping so frequently. Also, inform your fellow poppers cause no one seems to know about this stuff. Take care and stay safe!

Is it normal to experience one week of depression and mild anxiety after first MDMA (80mg) use?

Why yes, it is. This can become permanent if MDMA is used repeatedly.MDMA (aka ecstasy) is a drug that is a neurotoxin. It acts by causing the release primarily of serotonin, but also dopamine and norepinephrine, neurotransmitters that are important in mood regulation.Serotonin is important to maintain normal mood. Most antidepressants (case in point, prozac) do increase the levels of serotonin by blocking the reuptake of serotonin from the synaptic cleft. What happens if you forcibly wring every last molecule of serotonin out of your neurons? Well, you will feel amazing for a few hours, then you will feel like absolute hell.Because you feel like hell after the MDMA, it becomes reinforcing. You need to take more MDMA to feel better again. Then to avoid crashing, you take it more. I’m sure you can immediately see how this could become a serious problem.I suggest avoiding the chemical enhancement of your mood for recreational purposes. It will screw over your life so hard that you won’t be able to stand up. I know, since I treat people who suffer from the effects of substance use. Every time I see a new patient, the first words out of their mouths is almost always, “I am so f*cking sick of this sh*t!” And then they start to cry. It is not pretty.

How do you motivate yourself out of a depression? I have so much work to finish this weekend and can’t bring myself to focus on any of it.

I have an answer for you, but I want you to hang in there for it, because it will likely surprise you:This is why you feel so unmotivated…Anhedonia, a symptom of depression, is considered to be a loss of interest or pleasure, and it is just crushing to motivation. It’s usually feeling flat, empty, etc.It tends to impact two areas:1. The brain’s “reward system.” (if you want to nerd out about it, it’s the medial prefrontal cortex). This system allows your dopamine levels to rise when something good happens - giving you pleasure from doing it…but when you’re depressed, it can become dysfunctional.2. The Basal ganglia…the area that regulates neurotransmitters (like the release of pleasurable endorphins, etc..) which may also play a part. So, now that you understand this…These are some things that might help:1.Exercise. Sounds silly right? But if your body isn’t going to allow you to get pleasurable neurotransmitter release, sometimes, you’ve got to give it a push - even when you don’t feel like it, and even when you’re not motivated.(Always check with a doctor before you do anything strenuous or start a new exercise program, just to be sure you’re healthy enough & there won’t be any problems). Why Exercise? Exercise makes your body do the thing your brain is suppressing right now (releasing pleasurable neurotransmitters). Sure, you might not get a big rush, and it might not be that exciting…but your body can push your brain to release those neurotransmitters that it doesn’t want to do.Exercise is an all-natural treatment to fight depression - Harvard Health"For some people it works as well as antidepressants, although exercise alone isn't enough for someone with severe depression," says Dr. -Michael Craig Miller, assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.2. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). I know, I know - therapy from a therapist? Big surprise. But, neuroimaging studies show that it literally changes the brain and that - more than anything - is what you need….some help. For changes that can be long-term, and give you a happier and more motivated life.Hope this gives you something practical to use to get you on your way…

How do I get over Molly () comedown depression? how long does this last?

Sorry to say there really isn’t much you can - or should do, at this moment. Just ride it out for a few days and try to remember what a great time you had. Taking drugs like MDMA is like putting happiness on your credit card. You get as much of it as you can emagine, but be sure it will need to be payed back (in the form of your current depression). The MDMA you took used up all the endorphins in your brain (this is why you felt so euphoric ). It sipmly takes some time to build back up, so that small amounts can be released again, and you’ll be back to normal. For me, the day after is usually fine, but the next 2 or 3 days I can feel really depressed as well. After taking a big dose, or repeating small doses throughout a long party it takes me about a week or 10 days to really feel like my old self again.I have been told that if you take 5FNP for two weeks before a big night on the molly (or other psyco-active drugs), and the two weeks after, that this can help your endorphine level stay a bit more consistent.Your body and brain need a few things right now; bananas, lots of water (really, a lot) and orange juice. Eat some easily digestible foods like 2-min. noodles or biscuits or something. Have a long hot shower so that your body can sweat out the remaining toxins even faster. If you really want to take the edge of your come-down depression these ideas might help you feel better for a moment, but will make the process of your recovery take longer;Smoke some weed - always makes you feel better regardless of what your problems are.Have one or 2 shots of hard liquor - getting slightly tipsy will actually ease your depression in waves, so best to do this bofore bedtime rather then right after you wake up.Listen to the music you were listening to while on the drugs. Such deep memories are created on MDMA that i always feel good trying to re-live them or think about what i was doing while on them (a flashback).Ok good luck, hope this helps and party safely!

Depressed one day - happy the next?

When I was 14 I was sent to mental health. I was having similar feelings, however, the happiness was my way of masking what I was actually feeling. Yeah, there is laughter and you can push back what you are feeling. You may have an extrovert personality where being loud and laughing is comfortable but you are still depressed.

You would know if you are depressed, and by you saying you have sucidal thoughts and cutting, you are depressed. I use to cut. I am 21 now and have not cut in 2 years, but only looking back now, I can see what it really was. When you cut you are looking for a reaction, attention from someone. You need someone to care. And I do! You can email me, I do care about you . . . because no one cared about me. Please conact me, my email is shana.bauman@yahoo.com
