How Can I Go To The Next Level In Yahoo Answers

How can you get to the next level on yahoo answers?

I just checked your profile and you have 145 points. In order to reach level 2, you will need a total of 250 points. Answer more questions than you ask. Asking a question costs you five points. Also vote on undecided questions. You can find them on the third tab over.

For a more detailed explanation, click on the point total next to your avatar and you will get to a page that will explain all about the points and levels system.

Good luck!

How do I move up to the next level in Yahoo! Answers?

Once you hit 250 points, you'll be a level 2. If you want more points, answer questions. When you reach the limit, rate some other questions. I'm at level 2, have 525 points, and have to go to 1000 to get to level 3. Once you're at level 2, you can ask 10 questions, and answer 40! It you don't spam people, this seems enough for a normal person.

How do you level up in yahoo answers?

You are not doing too bad you have 144 points and you need 250 points to move up to level 2. You need to answer more questions rather then ask to move up the levels quicker.

Here is a list of the points that you need to move from level to level:-
Level 1 100-249
Level 2 250-999
Level 3 1,000-2,499
Level 4 2,500-4,999
Level 5 5,000-9,999
Level 6 10,000-24,999
Level 7 25,000+

When you reach level 5, 6 and 7 then it is unlimited questions/answers and votes.

How the points system works:-
Answering a question you earn 2 points.
Asking a question you use up 5 points, but when you choose a best answer for your question you get 3 points back.
Voting on unresolved questions for best answers you earn 1 point.
Being chosen as best answer you earn 10 points plus 1 point for every thumbs up to a maximum of 50.
Logging in to Yahoo Answers each day you earn 1 point.

To choose a Best Answer:-
You must wait for a minimum of four hours or more.
Click onto your question.
Read through each answer and decide which one is the best answer.
Once you have chosen your Best Answer, click the blue button underneath the answer "Choose as Best Answer".
Rate the answer by the number of stars.
Comment on the answer if you want to.
Click OK.

You loose 5 points for asking a question but you earn 3 points back for choosing a Best Answer.
You have to choose a Best Answer within its 4-day limit unless you wish to extend it, otherwise it will go to the public vote and you do not get your 3 points back.

Welcome to Yahoo Answers and Happy Answering!

How do i upgrade to the next level on yahoo answers?

You need 250 points needed to get to Level 2. You currently have 153 pts, so you have 97 more to go.

At any time, you can click on "My Q&A" (upper right). It will show you how many points you need to get to the next level (as well as some other info). Then, if you select "Tell me more," you can view the entire point system (how points awarded, how many needed for each level, and how many q&a is allowed for each of the 7 levels).

To gain the points, try to do the following:
- Answer as many q's as you can (limit of 20 per day at Level 1) - see above link which will tell you all the daily quotas. 2 pts each.
- Answer well (if yours is selected as best answer, you get 10 points plus 1 point for every thumbs up you get up to a max of 50)
- Vote on undecided questions (Go to "Vote" column). 1 pt each.

Also, in case you didn't know, it cost 5 points to ask a question. (But, you can get 3 pts back if you select a "best answer" so it's a net loss of 2 pts).

Good luck and have fun!

What's the deal with "points" on Yahoo!Answers? How do you move up a level?

To get to the levels it has to do with the number of points you have which can come from answering questions, etc especially in categories that you have a lot of knowledge.

The reason that you lose 5 points for asking a question is because they are trying to encourage users to try and help others with their questions if possible. But the 5 point loss can be made though by choosing an answer that best resolves your question. You get 3 points for choosing a Best Answer and then 2 more for answering a question, or in thumbs up (at 1 point each) that helps make up for the loss.

The 100 stars is a limit on how many questions you can give stars to every day.

The stars mean that others found the question being asked interesting.

What's the point of levels in Yahoo answers? It's not like you unlock new letters or punctuation, so... why?

It gives "results oriented" people something to shoot for (i.e. it's just a trick to attract attention and get people hooked so they can sell more advertising - kind of like much of the internet these days).

Why doesn't my Yahoo Answer level 2 account show answers with website URLs, not even Google shorteners?

You were doing spamming that's why. If you had built too many links in a short time of period, then Yahoo boats makes your link unvisible that only seen by you when you log in but the normal answers are visible to everyone.

Will Quora one day become Yahoo Answers?

First of all, I have limited knowledge about both the forums in question. Now, here is my opinion. It's improbable that Quora will swoop down to the level of Yahoo! Answers. As it is evident, most of the questions asked on Yahoo! Answers are silly and redundant, whereas we find a lesser proportion of such questions on Quora. I feel that the main reason is the inner purpose of both forums. Quora, in my opinion focuses more on knowledge while Yahoo! focuses more on the users/askers. The fact that answers on Quora are open to public opinions validates it. Users can upvote, downvote, comment on any answer. Contrastingly on Yahoo! Answers, the asker is asked to choose what she/he feels is the best answer. This difference in the focuses of these forums influence the level of questions and answers on them. When the focus is on knowledge and anyone can contribute to enhancing it (Quora), the quality of the questions and answers will stay good. When the focus is on satisfying the askers/users, the questions and answers are bound to be silly.Apart from this fundamental difference, I feel that there are some more differences that make Quora better. Quora has been made with a better technology than Yahoo! Answers (from what I read on the web). Users can use real identities, hence care about their answers and questions. Quora is trying to rope in more and more real life experts on different topics. They include celebrities and other influential people around the world. So, the credibility factor comes into play. Recently, Barack Obama has joined Quora. Cool, isn't it?You can follow topics, users, questions and practically whatever you want on Quora. It is a highly customized platform which is designed to give you exactly what you want.Questions can be answered even long after they were posted and answers can be edited.Quora has a credit points system which acts as a big incentive for users to establish themselves on Quora. People play a points game on Quora and at the same time help spread knowledge around the world.
