How Can I Have A Better Style

How to get better style? (skateboarding)?

I have been skating for about 8 months now. I can BS flip, varial, kickflip, nollie, pop shuv, nollie fs shuv, fakie big, both 180's, and a bunch of other stuff. I can also ollie a 6 and kickflip a 3. Lately, my friends hav been telling me that I have terrible style when I am skating. They always tell me I flail my arms like a bird when I skate. And now that they have told me, I have caught myself doing it alot. I usually flail my arms most when I am skating vert, or doing stuff that involves ollieing up like manual pads. I have tried to stop, but I always seem to do it without noticing, and it looks really ugly. How can I stop my arms from flailing and get better style?

Is New York pizza better than Chicago style pizza?

Yes and no.

Tastewise, both types of pie are good. They use the same ingredients, after all. The difference is the presentation.

A NY pie out of a coal or wood burning oven takes four or five minutes to cook and is on the table two minutes after that. You don't have as near as long a wait. A Chicago pie takes between 30 to 40 minutes to bake. In addition, eating a Chicago pie with your fingers is nigh near impossible. If you have a few minutes for lunch, are you going to grab a few slices of cheese, fold them "like a man" (as the commercial says), and walk back to work, or are you going to sit down and wait for slices of deep dish, which is not really "hand transportable".

In my opinion, the motto of a local pizzeria of my youth said it best, "Pizza is not eaten with a fork."

NY wins, on convenience and time. Both types can taste good or bad, but if you just want "a slice", what are you going to grab?

You know, I just thought of something. I did Navy boot camp at Great Lakes (30-odd miles north of Chicago) back in the 80s. If you had on-base liberty you could go to the base exchange and goof off, buy food that didn't come on a metal tray (and geedunk too), and play games. They sold pizza. It was fairly edible, but it was pizza. It was NOT Chicago style. Here you are in Chicagoland, but they didn't even make the stuff at the local military base?

Why is it that some people have a 'better' sense of style than others?

It all has to do with visual perception and acuity.Fashion is just a manipulation of what the mind perceives when it views someone. For some people - especially spatial thinkers - it is easy to extrapolate how the mind will process certain visual stimulus.Other people have more difficulty, but I disagree with Jasveen Sahota that it cannot be taught. While style changes frequently, the way the mind processes visual information does not. Certain rules (for lack of a better word)  always apply. With the right teacher and a willing student, its not a difficult skill to acquire.

What kind of hair style and hair colour do you think would look better on Princess Anne than the way she wears her hair now?

Her hair now, in my humble opinion is too dark (wasn’t she always a blonde from birth through her youth and into adulthood as a bride?). And the way her hair is placed up in a bun looks so unflattering. It’s styled like someone living in the 1890’s. A talented stylist could tastefully give her some of her natural age-appropriate lighter colour and a good stylish short cut (think Helen Mirren). What would you have a talented hair stylist do to make Anne’s hair look better?

Who was better a prime AJ Styles or a prime Bob Backlund?

With all due respect to both competitors.....AJ Styles is better.
He's fast, agile, moves better, has more in his moveset, and he's the more well-rounded wrestler of the two.

Why does 'doggy style' feel better than 'missionary'?

For me, missionary feels good, but doggy style feels even better. My vagina feels so sensitive in this position and it even makes my toes tingle :) why's that??

How can I get better (and develop an art style) at drawing when no matter how much I practice it doesn't help?

Stop being imaginative. Keep being creative (any time you draw anything you’re being creative) but stop being imaginative. Look at stuff and draw what you see. If you draw from photographs or other people’s pictures, turn the photo upside down before you draw—you’re trying to copy exactly what you see, not what you know is there, and if you forget about the subject matter you will actual do a better job of depicting what you’re looking at. But instead of drawing from photographs, set up little still lifes and draw them, or get people or animals to pose for you (cats are great, they sleep 20 hours a day during which time they don’t move very much), or look in the mirror and draw yourself.Study. Get yourself a good book on perspective, another on artist’s anatomy and another on formal composition and read them. Do the exercises.Take classes. Art is one of the few fields where people seem to think they can just pick it up on their own with no input from a more knowledgeable person. Take advantage of the art centers in your area. Take a life drawing (drawing from the nude model) class if you possibly can.Keep at it. You’ve recognized that you have a lot to learn. You never stop learning, there is always something just beyond your reach for you to strive for. O mentioned life drawing before. I have been taking life drawing classes for almost 50 years. There is always something new to discover. I will never stop going.Forget about developing a style. Style is what happens when you struggle with your materials. Recognize and respect your materials and resolve to master them. When you’ve mastered your materials you’ll suddenly discover you already have a style. And you won’t care that you do.Anything worth doing is worth working at. If it were easy to become an artist, there would be no point in doing so. Don’t get discouraged, you have literally your entire life to master art and you’ll do it if you keep at it.Good luck!

Who is/was a better wrestler, in your opinion: AJ Styles, or Shawn Michaels?

A.J. Styles, although it's a close call.....

This is one of those examples where "older isn't always better". Although Shawn Michaels is a great performer and can tell a story in the ring, I still think that A.J. is the better wrestler of the two.

He's a great high-flyer, he's fast, he can adapt to almost any wrestler & situation that's in front of him, he's a good technical wrestler, and he doesn't seem to be good at just one style of wrestling....
It seems like he's great in many areas when it comes to his wrestling ability. Plus, A.J. Styles is wrestling in an era where how superstars wrestle is far more advanced....they move faster, have more of a high-octane offense, many people have better conditioning.....

Shawn Michaels is a legend. He's Mr. Wrestlemania, the Heartbreak Kid, and undoubtly a legend in the WWE....
With all that being said though, when HBK was in his prime....the wrestlers back then were bigger and didn't move as quick. HBK's build & style was a rarity at the time.

How can I get better at solving Olympiad style math questions? What books, resources, etc. can I use?

Portal • Art of Problem Solving From my experience with the Olympiad, it is a dirty world. Wealthy people have mentors for their children from a very young age and have them teach their kids for years for a lot of money(the poor can't afford such sums). I'm saying this, because your success is highly dependent on how strong your theoretical foundation is(and that's what where the teachers come into play). As a kid, for me, for instance, it was very hard to gather the resources(books), but I was also born and raised into a shitty poor country. If you are by yourself(which I imagine, since you are posting this here)  your only hope is to read a lot of books(foundational books). My mistake was that I used to underestimate how much, say knowing theorems matter. It is easy to make this mistake.Starting with Euclid's Elements is probably best by far(go through all of them). Afterwards, on the website I gave you above, they have a lot of indications for which books would be good for foundations. Most importantly is the way you look at the problem itself, never make the mistake on relying on public education and such(though it's cool to use them if you can), biggest asset to get is to be an autodidact. Make it the priority to form yourself as a mathematical identity.Have a methodical approach, when reading through books, if something's not clear write the questions neatly in one book for each subject(e.g. geometry). Make it a long life quest to answer those questions(patience is also crucial). Use websites like this one and Math stackexchange to clarify those questions. When reading, always remember that if one concept is not clear in your mind the whole theory will fall apart eventually. Be cautious tough not to get stuck.Lastly, never let the results to discourage you, mathematics is much much more than that competition. Matter of fact, reading Euclid's Elements should be a much bigger joy than the olympiad afterwards. Also, write en book fi on google search, hit the first link.
