How Can I Help My 16 Year Old Brother Without Getting In Trouble With The Law

How can I stop my 16 year old brother from smoking weed?

Well, first thing's first: your brother is not a baby. He's getting older and he's going to experiment and push the boundaries, as is the nature of people. Don't lecture, don't be his "older" brother, be his friend and his mentor. Do activities with him that don't involve smoking weed, and pull him away from anyone who is influencing him, without explicity saying anything. Also contrary to popular belief marijuana is not a gateway drug. It can be, but it isn't. Show him love, friendship, companionship, understanding, trust and have an open mind. Listen to him, instead of talking. He's trying to find himself, and sometimes rebellion is a way that teenagers use to show autonomy. Understand that not every person is the same, and he is not an extension of yourself or your mother, he is an individual and treat him as such. Also some adult responsibilities might help him act more like an adult, and a good way to do that is do volunteer work together, and start asking about college and working and careers because maybe that way it'll show that you're interested and you care, and that might inspire him to care more about himself.

Can I move in with my 18 year old brother?

hello im 16 and live in az me and my brother planed to move out in feb. my mom thinks its a good idea to be independent however with me being a minor any trouble I get in will reflect on her.therefore for she wants me to wait till im 18 im just curious what would I have to do to keep her from getting into trouble if I do?i don't ever really get in trouble but I do smoke marijuana from time to time so that could cause an issue with police...I want to be responsible for my actions without it reflecting on her .im not like most kids who want to leave because of living situations its more to give my mom a little less head ache me and him have a full time job and would be moving into a small 1-2 bedroom apartment what do I need to do to make that happen??

Can my 22 year old brother take me to get my belly button pierced?

I'm 16 and my mom doesn't really like it but she said if I really want it I can have it done. My mom broke her ankle and so she can walk and she hates when I'm driving with her in the car. So can my brother take me if my mom maybe calls or signs a piece of paper saying that it's ok? Thank you!

Is my 19 year old brother allowed to take me to the doctor instead of my parents?

Yes , why not he is old and mature enough to explain it to the doctor about your illness. He can later on explain about the meeting to your parents as what the doctor has said. What medicines needs to be taken if there are any . Have faith in your brother . It seems obvious that you yourself are old enough to understand what the doctor will say. Try to listen to the doctor and tell him exactly about the reason you have come to see him. Your illness . Act as what he prescribes it to you. You require your parents under serious circumstances . Other wise both you and your brother are bound to deal with it . Best of luck .

Is my brother In Law a Loser?

Maybe I am just a conservative freak, but by the sounds of it, your brother in law is not exactly fulfilling his responsibilities as husband, father and a man of the house. Does he have any financial access? If so, where is his money going and if not, he should get a job!

In today's world where it is to each his own and survival of the strongest, there is no excuse for anyone to be slacking off and not fulfilling their duties as fathers and husbands, or whatever their role is. He is fortunate to have a good wife who gave up her career for him and children - he should treasure this and take up his responsibilities.

I am not sure about the overall wider circumstances, but from what you are saying, I wouldn't directly call him a loser, but my sentiments about him are similar.

Illegal? 20 year old and 16 year old dating? HELP?!?

Believe it or not, the statutory rape age of consent in Michigan was 16. However, in 2007:

2007 House Bill 4430 (Revise statutory rape laws )
Introduced by Rep. LaMar Lemmons, Jr. on March 8, 2007, to increase to age 18 rather than age 16 the victim’s age of consent for certain criminal sexual conduct violations such as those involving a member of the same household or a person in authority). .
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee on March 8, 2007.

Therefore, he'd better get written permission from the parents.
And on a personal note, what kind of adult person looks to a 16 year old for a serious relationship? He needs help.

What should I do when my brother hits me?

My Indian brother is the same. He was verbally and physically abusive and has slapped, punched , kicked me; called me a 'bitch' and much much worse. I've cut him off from my life and my heart. I no longer speak to him or acknowledge that he is alive and do not consider him my sibling. Your parents are cowardly. The typical Indian parents who favor the son and indirectly shift the responsibility for his violent behavior on to your head. Mine were the same. It's NOT your fault. Your brother has mental issues and he is venting on you, using you as a punching bag. Your parents are NOT protecting you as they should. By blaming you and not rebuking your brother, they are reinforcing your brother's violent behavior. My advice is IGNORE and STAY AWAY from him. DO NOT let him hurt you physically. STOP talking to your brother. PRETEND that he does not exist. Keep your interactions with him minimal. If he tries to start an argument with you DO NOT engage him, ignore him, go to your room and lock the door. Study hard, get a job and move out.
