How Can I Hide My Scars

How do I hide scars on my ankle?

Hi!
I'm not going to lecture you on cutting, I understand.
I used to work at a pool, constantly in a swimsuit, so I've become pretty....innovative at hiding my scars and cuts. People generally don't want to believe that you cut yourself, so they're going to assume you don't, if they can.
Generally, I've used a fleshtoned bandaid, fold down your socks but make sure they cover the cuts (depending how high up they are). As a last resort, if the cut is healed over into a scar, you can use make up, but for gym class, I wouldn't recommend it. I'd stick with a flesh-coloured bandaid.
In the future (and I'm not encouraging you to do it again, but I understand how it is) maybe pick a better spot to cut. I know that sounds awful. If anyone asks you what happenned, HAVE A STORY READY AHEAD!!!!! I can't stress that fact enough! So many times i've been thinking on the spot and it comes across all...unconvincing. Good luck, I hope things get better for you.

How to hide my self harm scars?

You can wear a sweat band or something. There isn't much stuff to cover since you'll be in uniform. Sorry to say it, but you'll just have to show them mostly. I have self harmed and was ashamed at first of my scars but slowly began to accept that the mistake of self harming is something I will have to live with now... rational people should also understand.

How do I hide my self harm scars?

Hi dear. :)

First of all, I'm not gonna lecture you or anything, cause I've gone through the same thing. Here's some tips that helped me out a lot.

First of all, one thing that helped my scars fade a lot was lemon juice. My mom did think it was kinda suspicious of all the lemons I was buying, though. I just rubbed a little bit of the squeezed lemon juice on my scars twice a day and it helped a lot with the redness, even though they were pretty old. (Don't do this of course if they're new scars cause that would hurt like crazy of course.)
Another thing that helped was getting vitamin E. What you need to do is buy some liquid vitamin E capsules at a drugstore or somewhere that sells them. I'm pretty sure you don't have to be over 18 to buy them. You can split open a capsule and rub it over the scars once or twice a day. I heard this one takes longer but has better results than the lemon juice.
For quick coverage, I would DEFINITELY recommend foundation and concealer. The one that I used was the Studio Fix foundation by MAC. It doesn't have to be high-end makeup, it just has to be able to stay on long enough, so you may want to use a face primer before foundation or concealer.
Lastly, I used a Garnier anti-age eye roller. It prevents against under eye circles and wrinkles and stuff, so I thought I'd try it out on my scars. It did take a little while, but it did end up improving the look a little bit.

Sorry for such a long answer, haha. But good luck. :)

How can I hide my self harm scars at the pool?

I have some fresh self harm scars all up and down my legs and summer is just a few days away. Somehow I've managed to slide by with wearing yoga pants or sweat pants all year and no ones questioned it with the hot weather. But now both my parents (They're divorced) have talked about going to the pool and I'm not ready to let them see my scars yet and tell them I need help. I'm only 14, so I can't really spend much money, but any ideas are appreciated. I love to swim, so they'll know somethings up if I don't go swimming. My swimsuit covers the scars on my stomach but there are easily 500 on both of my legs. They're pretty fresh, going back from 5-10-12 to yesterday (5-26-12). I know I should stop and that it's a real problem, especially with so many, but I'm just not ready yet. Thank's for any help.

How do I hide my self harm scars from the doctor?

First of all, it’s very important that you DO tell your doctor. You KNOW that cutting is wrong and harmful and can even be fatal, either through hitting a blood vessel or infection.
Show the doctor your scars and talk about them, and let him refer you to a mental health professional that can help you STOP it! Actually, he will most assuredly ask you to raise your sleeves. The light-headedness means he will have to take your blood pressure, and your cutting could be the cause of your light-headedness.
You can ask him not to tell your parents, but he might have to, either because of your age, and since you are a “potential harm to yourself and/or others.” That’s very true, and you need help NOW. It’s also the magic words that can get you locked up against your will - and all that takes is someone - anyone - seeing the scars. It’s best to let a doctor handle it.

EDIT: don’t put makeup or ink on a scar or wound. The skin may not be 100% healed, which would mean that that stuff can get into your bloodstream

How to hide scars from dermatologist?

I’ve self harmed on my legs and I’m going to the dermatologist in a few months. I’ve been using scar cream but my scars are big and won’t be gone by them. Putting a plaster over them would be suspicious
Don’t tell me to leave them or talk to anyone
How can I hide them???
(The doctor looks everywhere btw)

How to hide cutting scars from doctors?

Wear concealer, but when you're applying it, don't rub it into the skin, just put a a small dollop on the tip of your finger and tap it on the scar until it looks smoothed out, then apply some powder of the same shade obviously on top of the liquid concealer. It'll give complete coverage to ANY scar.
As a tip, try to use the half hardened stuff on the rims or the cap of the bottle. It'll give better coverage, although it's still very possible to do it with the more runny stuff.
But if you want to get rid of them long term, buy some Vitamin E cream from the drugstore. You'll still need the temporary coverage for your doctor's appointment, but at least the Vitamin E will reduce the scars and maybe even seal them away completely.
