I thought that Excel 2007 would behave the same as earlier versions and that you'd need to format as Text (not General) and do it *before* you enter the data. Formatting as General before entering the data would allow the input to be treated as a date, and formatting afterwards converts the date to a number in Excel's date system (so 01.08.2009 would become 40026). It's not possible to view the password but you can reset it: Firstly be aware - if you've encrypted any files with EFS encryption on the administrator account then these files will not be recoverable without the original password. This will ONLY effect the administrator account - it will not effect your personal EFS encrypted files (if you have any) so in most cases resetting the password is perfectly safe. 1st method: If your account has administrator privileges you can simply reset the password Click start > right click my computer > manage > click local users and groups > users > right click administrator > set password and enter the new password twice. 2nd method: If you don't have access to an account with administrator privileges then you'll need to do an offline reset http://www.blog.windowspasswordsrecovery.com/ I believe is the tool i've used to do it in the past on XP. PS: there is a better method than both of these - if you've created a password reset disk when you set the password or after - but i don't think i've ever met anyone who has done this. It was just so unlike him to show this side to Mom when he had worked so hard to hide it from her...I sighed, and for about the hundredth time I wished I told Mom about him. I had to tell her tonight, no question. I decided to not think about it anymore. It was making me too depressed. I felt a drop of rain hit my nose, and I automatically looked up. As soon as I did, the raindrops got heavier, and before you know it, it was pouring. I gradually came to a stop, and stood there, trying to decide what to do. I glanced to my left, and saw a huge tree, its branches stretching as far as they could go, and I decided it will do for cover. I mean, it’s not like I was in any hurry to get home.
