How did you make money as a kid / teen?

Being Bored*Note - I am not the creator of this sign but it gets the point acrossThe amount of time I spent thinking of things to do as a kid was equal to, if not greater, than the amount of time I spent actually doing things. It was quite a boring existence. Eventually there came a point in high school where I got so bored of being bored that I simply said fuck it and blindly dived headfirst into everything I could find. The money came from the following adventures:ResearchGetting involved with the Computer Science research at Oakland University under Professor Khalid Mahmood was hands down the greatest decision of my life. It involved 3 years of pushing myself to the ends of my mental capacity, and I came out of it at an intellectual peak. The knowledge I obtained later translated into the following:~ $6,000 in cash prizes from ISEF + regional science fairs~ $5,000 from internship placements resulting from my researchI would highly recommend any passionate schooler giving collegiate research a trySki / Snowboard InstructorI’ve been an avid ski/ snowboarder my entire life. I decided to try giving back to the program that had instructed me. Spending about 8 hours a week for 1.5 months during the winter, I received:~$100 in cash~ Free rental equipment and access to the slopes for most of the ski seasonDefinitely the most fun job I've ever had.Soccer RefereeThis is the most slept on teenage job in the history of the world. I could pull $45 an hour if I chose the right game to referee. If you are a teenage soccer player / watcher/ fan, look no further. I refereed for two fall soccer seasons in local community youth leagues and got the following:~$300 in cash~Thick skin after being verbally abused by soccer momsNo pain no gain.I also worked at Kumon but may have actually lost money from that job. I also just had a personally horrible experience. But every Kumon is different so take that with a grain of salt.Utilize boredom. It can do a lot for you.

How To Make Money As a Teenager?

I'm a 15 year old male. In preparation for college, I'd like to save up some money. I currently have $1500 total in the bank, which I've amassed from odd jobs and birthdays over the years. I'd like to have about $10,000 by the time I go to college, so what's a good job. Obviously, I'd like something that pays well. I've already given my phone number to some old people around the neighborhood and offered to mow their lawns, but winter's coming, so that won't last long. I know that I'd have to be 16 to get a legit "job", so anything in the meantime? Also, I have school, so something that doesn't take up a lot of my time, maybe something where I work for myself (a la mowing lawns)?

I'm in school and I can't really get a job. My school load is too much, but I need some ways to make money. I'm a junior in high school. I do tutor someone in chemistry for $7 an hour, but we only meet like once a week and for an hour. So $7 is so little. What are other ways to make money?

Easy Ways to Make Money (I'm a Teen)?

HI Sarah....you know summer is coming....any chance you can babysit for a few parents.

Ifyou dont want to commit the entire summer doing that why not get with a friend or two and create a sports camp for the local kids
OR
get your same friends together and host a car wash

Plan a garage sale with old toys that you dont play with anymore

If you have younger brothers and sisters get them to have a lemondade stand with you
(people enjoy buying from the younger kids more so you stand back and supervise )

Ask your mom or dad to give you a task around the house....maybe you can agree to help conserve electricity by going around and turning off all lights that are not in use etc and ask them to give you the difference in the electric bill

mow grass
clean out gutters or run errands for neighbors for a small fee.

How to make money online as a teenager?

You start a business, making things people want and are willing to pay money for. If your not making things, you're going to need to buy/sell things for more than you paid for them, or going to need to find a way to sell something on a subscription basis, schedule time for some type of service type work, or something along these lines. You'll need ot develop a website, with shopping carts, and able to accept payments. Most of these things require you to be over 18 or have an adult help with those things that require you to be over 18 (dealing with contracts, and finance for instance)..

There are few legitimate ways for people to make money online, other than what I've outlined. Yes, you may be able to work from home, if you have skills that can be worked from home. This usually involves selling, or technology, with a college degree and experience to back it up in most cases.

As a teen, don't expect to make money online - but in brick and mortar, doing physical labor someplace that can train you to do what they need done, local to where you live.
