How Can I Make My Hair Get Healthier At Home

Home remedies to get soft, healthy hair?

I've been hearing a lot about people putting eggs or mayonnaise in their hair to make is soft and healthy but can't find anything online about it.. Help?

What are the home remedies to make your hair healthier, stronger and shinier (which are very effective)?

Hair is all about maintaining ph of scalp. The most shiny hair we see in ads are surely visual effects but still 1. I can say using lemon , honey ,castor oil and fish oil mask leaving it overnight can have drastic positive effects on your hair. Try to shampoo your hair less often(proven method ) this maintains natural oil retention capacity of hair shaft. 2.Wash your hair with curd and water skipping shampoo(most effective).Stop using synthetic conditioners. You can try adding some apple cidar vinegar diluting it and rinsing can definitely control frizz as it will close hair cuticles . :) 3. and yes castor oil as such can never penetrate your scalp due to its consistency, use other carrier oils to dilute it, if it weighs down your hair try lighter oils like flaxseed etc4.Egg yolk is best for moisturizing strands , but again its very thick and you will end up wasting precious yolk , so insist on buying Eyova oil.

How to tell if my hair is healthy or not?

I asked this the other day and haven't gotten many answers, and one of the two answers I did get clearly didn't actually read my question, so I will try again.

I recently spent nine months on blood thinners. One of the side effects was that it did shitty awful things to my hair. I am off the blood thinners now and working to improve my hair's condition.

What I want to know is how to tell if my hair is healthy, or how far along it is to being healthy? I spent so long with unhealthy damaged hair that I can no longer tell what is what up there. So what are some things I can look for to help me out here? It's a bit frizzy because it became very brittle while on the blood thinners and I have only been off them for about four months. I'm not sure how to tell what is new growth and what is breakage. Help?

Also, I need to make this clear as possible. DO NOT TELL ME WHAT VITAMINS TO TAKE. I have a medical condition, which prevents me from taking more of certain vitamins than what I would normally get out of food. I spoke to two doctors, a pharmacist, and a hair stylist and I am already taking vitamins that were designated as something I can safely take. ALL that I want to know is how to tell if my hair is healthy, I do NOT need to know what vitamins to take because I am already on vitamins. Thank you

I'm trying to get my hair healthy again?!?

I have had lots of people come to me with this question before...how do I get my hair healthy again? Well the answer is simple. Cut the split ends off. Condition your hair every day, don't shampoo every day, shampoo every 2nd to 3rd day. Also use a leave in conditioner and do a deep conditioning treatment once a week to two times a week depending on how damaged your hair really is. Also stop using any heat on your hair, that will just prolong your hair to becoming healthy. Let it air dry if possible. If you need to dry it use the cool setting on the blow dryer and use a product that is meant for heat styling. Like a mousse or gel. Do not use drugstore brands, they make the hair even more dry. Use salon brands. This is a must...if you want to get your hair back to healthy, DO NOT use any lightening products on your hair, which means do not highlight your hair. It makes the hair weak and break. If you must color your hair do it 6-8 weeks apart. And again do not use drugstore color, it dries the hair out and your hair will break. In some cases will fall out. Good luck.

What are some at-home ways to test whether my hair is “healthy”?

It's not. Your hair is guaranteed not to be healthy. Your hair is dead, all of it from the follicles out to the tips. Dead things have no health. It cannot be revitalized nor revived. It can be cleaned, dried, oiled, siliconed, trimmed, and shaved off, but it cannot be made healthy.

How long will it take for my hair to be healthy again?

I was in your shoes once and the only thing that will work is to go natural in the products you use.
Read all of the labels you have- do they have waxes? sulfates? alcohols? Many words you can't pronounce? Most of what you are using is only coating your hair to make it manageable for the next few days. If you used none of that stuff it would be in a worse state, correct? (and if you use tresemme heat protectant for example, that actually coats your hair with a thin wax-like film)

Put coconut oil in your hair and leave in for 30 minutes to an hour. Rinse and then shampoo. Dilute apple cider vinegar with an equal amount of water and, tilting your head back, slowly pour from your roots and let it soak down into your ends. Use the rest to soak your ends and leave in for 6 minutes or longer. When you rinse it out of your hair you will notice how soft your hair is already. The smell goes away once it dries and you do not need to use conditioner.
The coconut oil is like argan oil- one of the few oils "small" enough to enter the hair follicle and moisturize and repair it. The apple cider vinegar actually seals your hair strands which gives it that soft, shiny, manageable hair so effortlessly.

I would suggest doing this once or twice a week. This honestly works like a dream and it is a lot natural for your hair than drugstore products full of things that we should not even be putting on our hair

Good luck! (:

What are some home remedies to make hair grow thicker and faster?
