Don't bother.CDMA phones are different from GSM phones. The primary difference is that GSM phones have sim cards and CDMA does not.Unlocking a GSM phone is simple:A. In some cases, simply flashing a new ROM works.However, unlocking a CDMA phone is much harder.CDMA phones have the carrier hardwired. They most likely will not give it to you over the phone.For some phones, you can find guides online on how to unlock them.Even if you managed to unlock a CDMA phone, you could only use it on CDMA networks. Yes, absolutely. My current phone is a 3 year old Droid Turbo, and it serves my needs very well. Prior to that, I had a RAZR HD (for 3+ years) and a Droid 2. Both of those phones still “work”, but don’t hold a charge through the day.Batteries are among the biggest limiting factors in mobile device lifespans - especially now that they are not easily replaced by end users. That old Droid 2 had a sliding rear cover giving easy access to the battery, while my Droid Turbo is glued shut.As for performance, others have said, and I will reiterate: the electronics don’t get any slower as a device ages. What does change is software, which gets bigger, more complicated and, yes, slower. Keeping your device clean - removing apps that you don’t use, etc. will help maintain the performance.
