How Can I Make Sure To Wake Up When My Phone Goes Off

When the alarm goes off, what do you usually do?

C) snooze it a couple of times, I set my alarm for 6 and snooze it till 6:15 then again till 6:30 because then if feels like I've had a lie in :-)

Once I had a really late night and my phone went off at 6am on a saturday morning, and it jammed so it wouldn't turn off and the batteries were screwed in.. I got fed up and put it in the bath and turned the water on until the clock broke. Suffice to say I got in a lot of trouble for drowning my clock.

Why does my cat bite me when my alarm goes off?

My cat, Kuku, hates it when I don't get up immediately, and will take measures to make sure I don't do so too much. These start with him miaowing at me from across the room, followed by climbing on my chest and miaowing in my face, and lastly putting his paw on my cheek (no claws though). Why he does this? Because he wants his morning bowl of milk, and since I'm clearly awake I need to get up already and give it to him!So my guess is that you've created some sort of desirable ritual that your cat is eager for.

Will my iPhone alarm still go off if "Do Not Disturb" is on?

Be sure it would, unless you silence the phone by setting the alarm volume to Zero. And a little trick. If you want your next of kin or fiancée or anybody really close to you to be able to reach you by a phone despite the “Do Not Disturb” is on, tell them to call twice. The iOS recognises two calls from the same number in rapid succession to be a sort of “emergency” and starts ringing.

I need to ensure I wake up at 5am tomorrow. How do I achieve this?

Dude, I can understand your difficulties.I would suggest you to follow below steps.Firstly, Download an Android or IOS application named ALARMY(sleep if you can).(You are using quora means you have a smartphone for sure). Now,Open the application, set the time. This app has few useful features for a heavy sleeper.Setting up alarms in the app is easy. There’s a button in the center of the screen (you can’t miss it!) that says “Add alarm.” From there, you can scroll to set the time of your alarm as well as how you want to shut off your alarm. This is the fun part. You have four different methods you can use to dismiss the alarm. You can leave the alarm on default, which will simply require you to swipe up to shut off the alarm. You can choose to shake the phone a number of times to turn the alarm off. ALSO you can set up no. of shake.3. Third, you can take a photo to match a photo you took earlier. If the photo you take does not match up, the alarm will continue ringing4. Last but not the least, You can set mathematical calculations.Till you don't solve it, It will be ringing and ringing and ringing.Depending on how badly you need to wake up, you can change up the accuracy of the photo you need to take in order to shut the alarm off. Low makes it so that as long as you’re within the ballpark, the alarm will be dismissed and you can also set up the difficulty level for mathematical problems. The normal accuracy requires a bit more detail than low. However, if you set the accuracy to high, you will need to match the lines of the first photo very carefully — good luck trying to fall back asleep! And lastly ,Try to sleep earlier ..!!

Why is my iPhone alarm so quiet?

There is a trick. There are two separate volume controls in an iPhone. One is called "Volume" the other is called "Ringer" or "Sound Effects" volume. Most people do not realize this. I did not for a long time.It is also a little messed up within iOS.Probably the best way to understand this:"volume" is for apps which are on screen. Games, videos, etc."ringer" or "sound effects" is for background notifications, phone calls, alerts, wake up ringers, etc. (it is not as simple as this..)The ringer sound you can set in SETTINGS/SOUNDS/RINGER AND ALERTS. Or sometimes with the sound buttons. When you set the volume with the volume buttons or the volume off switch, sometimes you will set the "volume" sometimes the "ringer" volume. You better read the text of the popup window. This depends on when you set it, when an app is on screen or not, or whether the app on screen is providing sounds or alerts. (it is not as simple as this..)Also if you set "do not disturb" it will not disable all the sounds from your device. This answer is valid even today in 2018.Apple made the handling of these sound volumes very simple, so most people do not even realize how sophisticated this really is.

Every morning my cat cries when the alarm goes off and attempts to open the bedroom door, make it stop!?

My cat does the same thing when my alarm goes off and she hears movement in my bedroom...but as soon as I get up and feed her she's fine again.

If its really bothersome, I'd make sure she has food in the middle of the night and lots of toys, and gradually you should try to stop giving her any attention when you wake up (after the alarm goes off). Train her to realize that when the alarm goes off, and you wake up, you will not be giving her any attention...maybe in time she'll get accustomed to this and stop getting excited when she hears the alarm.

I can't wake up to my alarm. Everytime I try I just turn off the alarm, go on my phone a bit, and go back to sleep. How can I actually get out of bed?

There is a great little read, called Morning Mojo by R.D.Rawlings — was a beach read, but actually extremely helpful. It basically tells you to create a pleasant morning routine by eliminating morning unpleasantries as much as possible. And it worked magic for me. Biggest changes I’ve made was change the sound of my alarm to Tschaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto which is one of my favourite pieces of music, and I make sure that my kettle for tea is ready to be switched on the night before. I also bring a glass of water to bed to drink the moment I switch off my alarm. Oh, and I put my alarm far enough to have to get out of bed, and right next to water. So:nice music-> out of bed-> switch off-> glass of water-> kitchen-> kettle-> feed cats-> tea.And only THEN do I have access to my phone! After all this initial stage is done, I reward myself with a bit of phone reading, until I finish first cup. Then I shower and dress, then have another cuppa and breakfast.Automate and make the first step as pleasant as possible, and then reward yourself once that is done. Simples!

How do you make sure you immediately wake up to your alarm and not procrastinate on waking up?

What usually always works for me is actually to have my alarm next to my bed. I set 2 alarms: one at the time I want to get up, and one 5 minutes before. What happens is that I wake up and reach for my phone on the first one to check my to do list(notes app) and scroll through some news. Then the second one goes off after 5 minutes and I find it much easier to get up. The alarm helps to make sure that I don’t spend too much time on my phone and the blue light from the phone helps wake me up.

I subconsciously turn off my alarm clock.. Help!?

Sometimes I am late waking up? My alarm clock goes off, but I think I turn it off without knowing I did. I have a history of somnambulism.. Any tips on how to wake up when the alarm goes off? I get about 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Thanks
