How to make my party great?
for my birthday party i want to have a big party with all my friends. I was planning on hosting it at my house( i have a pool and big back porch, but not a big yard.) Everyone could swim, dance, and just hang out but that doesnt seem too exciting. Any other ideas?

You have to make sure that the needs of all your guests are being met. If you put out plenty of good food and buy decorations it should work. One problem I usually have is that there are too many people and they keep walking in on each other in the bathroom, so people keep wetting themselves and being in terrible moods. Sometimes I just buy some extra bathroom stalls and delete them when the party is over.

Having had many house parties I can give some suggestions that will make it exceptionally good.Invite people that are fun and whose company you enjoy.A clean house is a welcoming house. That includes restrooms, please. Have several rolls of toilet paper available. One hand towel won’t do. Better yet, have the disposable kind. Light a scented candle in the restroom.Have fresh flowers throughout the house. Have music playing in the background to set the mood.Arrange seating areas so that smaller groups can sit and chat.If possible, the party should extend to the outdoor area, as well.Have food, lots of food. Think more not less, specially if alcohol will be served. Appetizers should be out by the time your first guests arrive.Have a table set up for beverages of all kinds. Lots of ice available in a cooler or freezer.It’s great if you can provide all the food; if a potluck, make sure you have a variety of dishes: proteins, salads, cheese, bread, desserts.If you’re providing everything for the party, do not turn down nice people who want to bring something. Normally I get good party scores if there is lots of food, some expensive fun items (karaoke, pool table, hottub,etc) and music. Have some controlable sims dance and others will usually join in. Also try to interax\ct with them. Talk or joke but if it is rejected the score will go down. For a quick boost, have two sims that really like eachother (and won't cancel the interaction) make out and the score goes up a little. Check out the guide below too.
How can I make a party more fun?
I started using the app Spark DJ for events and get togethers... it was created by two DJs so it mixes music together seamlessly. The best part is that everyone at the party/event can connect on their own device and request songs. It’s pretty awesome and everyone seems to have a lot of fun with it.
