I am searching 4 the themes of John Dryden's "all for love" play.?

All for Love is a heroic drama by John Dryden written in 1678. Today, it is Dryden’s best-known and most performed play[citation needed]. It is a tragedy written in blank verse and is an attempt on Dryden's part to reinvigorate serious drama[citation needed]. It is an acknowledged imitation of Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, and focuses on the last hours of the lives of its hero and heroine.

Arguably Dryden's greatest play, All for Love was first performed in 1677 and seems to have displaced its model, Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra, throughout the eighteenth century. Whatever its merits as drama, the language of Dryden's "classical" tragedy presents a useful set of forms for comparision with those of the earlier play.

Love: Why do people search for romantic love? What do they hope to find in it?

For the wrong reasons, and that’s probably why there’s so much grief associated with it.Romance idealizes — and not too rarely also idolizes — one’s partner in a relationship. That person and the very idea of being in a relationship with him/her become larger than life.Romantic feelings have been diagnosed as having a drug-like effect on the human brain. They mislead us into thinking they’re everlasting, never-fading, never-changing, when it's actually more like the opposite.Simply put, the flame dies out and the magic fades away — in five to seven years at most, probably way sooner. Magic and sharing a restroom will hardly share a common phrase.Starting in the 70’s, sex came to be regarded as as something people were free to have casually and seek for the sake of carnal pleasure alone. Obviously, it never ceased to be considered really important in a long-term relationship, but there’s hardly anyone who believes it can be the basis of any long-term relationship.Romantic love would probably be a lot more fulfilling if the general attitude towards it were to fall along those lines. It should be sought and lived through strictly for what it is rather than as a likely starting point or basis for a long-term relationship. People should bet on the likelihood that whatever burning romance they’re in will fall apart sooner rather than later and be ok with it.Long-term relationships are about compatibility on everyday issues rather than magic. They should predominantly look like and function as friendships. Sex is a bonus. That’s what it turns out to be in the long run anyway.
