How can I shrink a pair of jeans?
I got a pair of bootcut jeans from American Eagle and I love them! But they're about a size too big . Ive heard you should wash them in warm/hot water and dry on a high setting. Is this true? Thanks :)

If you dry them it will make them fit better, but it will probably also make them shorter. If they are too loose for you then I would recommend going with the 4 Regular. If not you could always buy a 6 Regular and dry them so they will shrink in the fit and length. You also have to look at the fit of their jeans. If you look at the website and it shows that they stretch then you should go one size down to the 4. If they are just regular with no stretch then you should get the size 6. Hope this helps!
How can one permanently shrink jeans?
Mine stretch a little in the waist after wearing too, but here are some tips you should know. The jeans have elastane in them which means you are not supposed to heat them up. You wash them in cool or cold watter inside out and then hang them up to dry overnight. Heat damages the stretch in elastane. Get a new pair and start over to test. Also, get a belt. I'm finding claims the polyester can prevent stretching. Look for a blend that is 92% CTN, 6% POLY, 2% ELASTANE like Lucky Brand offers and see if that helps. Single digit polyester can be helpful without negative side effects supposedly. Perhaps particularly useful to counter the elastane.

My mom usually wairs a petite size so alot of the jeans she gets needs to be shunk a little. So, if you wanna get them a little smaller, try this. 1.) Fill your tub up with HOT water (the warmer the better). 2.) Leave your jeans in the water overnight or for a few hours. 3.) Let your jeans air dry, blow dry them, or stick them in the dryer and heat dry them. Try not to let the water cool down to much. Hope it helps! Cheers.
