How Can I Thank My Dentist

What can I give to dentist and staff as a "thank you"?

Trust me when I say this, even saying “thank you” is appreciated by the dentist and staff. Anything more than that is viewed as going above and beyond to show your appreciation. Don’t worry about the gift being healthy enough; cookies or donuts are much appreciated. You are also usually looking at a large female staff so you can’t go wrong with any chocolate.I am sure your dental office will greatly appreciate anything you bring in.

Gift basket for a thank you to dentist and staff?

I've had to have a lot of work done on my teeth because I didn't go to the dentist for 10 years. I was so scared to go plus I didn't have insurance. So I finally went and got EVERY single thing fixed with my mouth. It took 5 visits to finally finish everything and Thursday is my last session. I wanted to give the office some sort of fruit basket or gift basket to show them that I appreciate them for taking such great care of me and being outstanding. Do you think that is weird to give them something like that?

Was my dentist rude to me?

okay hi thanks for taking your time to read this.. (maybe long)
i will say i don't have the perfect teeth.. so i went to the dentist that i have been waiting for months now (last 1 got delayed cos they went on hols) and i went in the dentist like normal, my dentist had a look at my teeth and said "why don't you brush your teeth (name) ..? " I was shocked he even said that !! and i brushed them this morning when i woke up!! and just before i went dentist!! i mean, he can't just say i haven't brushed them!! and my mum was with me when i was brushing them, so my mum said to my dentist " she has brushed them actually, and she was with me!" and he kept saying i'm not arguing with you to my mum, and my mum was mad of course, then he said " sorry i can't help you (name), you can leave now." I've been waiting all theses months to get my teeth finally sorted and that's happened.
Oh i was excited to see the dentist, now i'm dreading to go back there again!! this has happened twice by the way, once when i was younger but a different dentist with the same attitude!
when he said why arent you brushing your teeth, i felt like he was judging me? i felt really horrible..why even come out with that?! he could of least said you need to brush your teeth abit more, argh sorry im just really annoyed and want to know if he was rude to me, thanks :) x

Did my dentist do a good job?

Thanks for showing confidence in my opinion by asking me to answer your question.First, I will address the question implied in your request to give an opinion of how many cavities were present before treatment was given. Understand that it is difficult to examine from an x-ray alone. A proper diagnosis consists of both radiographic and clinical evaluation, meaning both from x-rays and from visual & tactile examination. Now to your primary question regarding the quality of the restorative treatment given. Again, radiographic (x-ray) evaluation is not sufficient to determine with absolute certainty the quality of dental treatment. The provided radiographs do not necessarily show results inconsistent with clinically acceptable treatment. I would be curious why you are asking these questions—are you experiencing pain or sensitivity? Are you concerned with the appearance of the restorations? It is not uncommon to have sensitivity after restorative dentistry is rendered. In fact, it is not unheard of for a tooth that has been treated to be sensitive for a matter of weeks. If you are experiencing symptoms, please see the treating dentist as soon as possible because sometimes a restoration may require adjustment 1–10 days after initially being placed. It is important to have it looked at sooner rather than later because ignoring it could lead to larger problems down the road.I hope I addressed your primary concern. Feel free to ask me any follow-up questions you may have.

Can I go to the dentist alone?

At the dentist office I work at, if you are under 18, we have to have a parent or guardian give their consent for you to be there. It is usually fine however if you pick up any papers that need signed by the parent, have them signed at home and bring them with you to the appt. already filled out. Before the appt. we will also reach the parent by phone to get a verbal consent along with the signature if they are not with you. Otherwise, we will not see the patient.
Since it has been years since your last visit, I can almost guarantee, your health history will need updated and signed for- it doesn't matter if you've already been to that dentist before.

Can I go to the Dentist while on my period?

How do I tell my dentist I don't want her as my dentist anymore?

Don't feel pressured that you have to stay with the same dentist or even with the same office if you feel awkward (unless there's no other office for long distances). It is not usual for the dentist to schedule appointments as that is usually done by a receptionist. Frequently people will tell the receptionist to book them with another dentist and it will be less confrontational. You may wish to give a reason when they ask but you are not obliged to.If you must confront the dentist and it sounds like she can really push you into booking with her, you have to be firm. Say: “Thank you for caring for my teeth. I know that Dr. (The one you want to change to) also sees patients here and I'd really like to try him/her out. Let's schedule my next appointment with him/her.” And don't offer any other explanation, no one’s who gets hurt, no awkwardness. Just be firm and don't let her re-direct you.If you want yo avoid confrontation all together, this may work if they have staggered days, where the dentists gave different days of work. Find out when the dentist you want to leave works and purposely say you are only available on a certain day that she doesn't work, just cite a change in work or family schedule as the reason. They can't fault you if you're not available at all on the days that that dentist works. Once you do this for a while, and the office is used to you seeing the other dentist, then your days can be more flexible again.
