How do I transfer photos from android to new iphone?

The easiest way would be to plug in the old phone, copy the pictures to a folder on your pc then add that folder to itunes. Then you would just plug the iphone into the computer, open itunes and move the pictures over. Since you said you can't connect that wont work obviously.

What you can do is take the old deactivated device someplace that there is WiFi and either email the pictures to yourself or use something like dropbox and upload the pictures there. Then simply download dropbox on your iphone and download the pictures. This is way more time consuming but it will work.
