How Can I Upgrade The Processor Of Hp Compaq 6530b

How can i upgrade the processor of HP Compaq 6530b?

The short answer is if you have to ask the question then don't attempt it
on some laptops it is possible to upgrade the CPU if they are socketed. However it may not be advisable, often the laptop has to be completely dismantled to get to the processor and you risk damaging many of the delicate cables and connectors if you are not used to doing this sort of thing. Also you may be running the laptop outside of the manufacturers intended specs, so a faster processor often generates more heat so the fans may be working harder and more noise, the battery life will be less if there is a higher power draw, the BIOS may not recognise the different CPU.
Most laptop CPUs are not sold direct to the end user only to the trade or manufacturers. As most of these CPUs are not current, then you would have to source off eBay or amazon. Finally most workshops would refuse this sort of work as you would be taking the laptop outside of the recommmended specs.

Since all of the parts in a laptop can be detached. I can surely tell you that replacing the processor is possible. But I am not sure if you can upgrade the processor. For example you wanna move from core i3 to core i5, I can't say whether it's possible or not. But if you wanna replace the processor with the same processor then it's possible but in India it's really hard, because there is very few chances that you gonna find the same processor for your laptop. In my case, I am searching to replace my core i7 and Nvidia GTX 580m from my MSI laptop but unfortunately there is no shop where I can find any of these. On online website I found some processors for laptops but when I bought it , I found that it's for desktops. And I am trying this from 3 years. So, I don't think you can replace it in India. One the other hand, it surely possible to replace the processor with the same processor. Thanks for A2A

This is your computer.

This is apparently your motherboard, IRIS8-GL6 (AKA ECS MCP61PM-HM, HP part number FT381-69001). You can confirm that by opening your case, and reading the markings right on the motherboard.

Processor Upgrade for HP Pavilion a6157c?

I need help updating my HP Pavilion a6157c PC's processor. I've seen a list of possible processors for the a6157c motherboard.

It can support those processors, but I want the best that the motherboard can support and I would like one that is good in gaming? I like to play some online games every next day(Combat Arms, S4 League, Starcraft 2 maybe?, etc.) I don't really need one for those hard core games, just basic FPS games. So here is one processor that caught my eye, and will it be compatible and is it the best my computer can support? Or is it the best for gaming for the normal FPS games?

And how about this one? I'm hesitating since this one supports 1333 MHz while my motherboard can support up to 1066 MHz, but I've heard people have used 1333 MHz processor on the P5LP-LE (Leonite) motherboard.

http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Dual-Core-3-0GHz-1333MHz-Processor/dp/B000R99ESI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1299473847&sr=1-1

That one is so far the best I can find in the Core 2 Duo E6000's series, which is the max my motherboard can take for a processor, but I'm just not sure about the whole MHz thingy.

Please someone help me decide between this

And this

Or is there one you guys can recommend for me that is better or safer for my mobo that I didn't mention, I just need a processor that can play games without FPS lag.

Thanks

Edit: Or?

Can you upgrade hp compaq 6720 laptop?

This laptop is HP's budget line Compaq series. It does have integrated intel graphics. I suppose with a little research you might find a better graphics card for it. If you do this you'll have to go into the bios an disable the onboard intel graphics.

Upgrading laptop processor?

hi Dylan the solutions you've already are purely polite, the easy information about laptops is there are not from now on designed to be changed contained in the conventional way you would with a operating laptop or computer. the processor isn't meant to get replaced, in effortless words to interchange it like with like so that's that fantasy uncovered. image playing cards on the extreme end laptops will be upgraded yet with restricted decision. the reason behind all that's the picture card is provided in part of the motherboard and there is no provision to allow an better one to be equipped like a table genuine pc. so that you've lengthy gone to all that worry searching up the advice and that is not well worth the attempt sorry. The bios isn't the in effortless words aspect the following that is the total layout that's mistaken.

Upgrading Compaq Presario CQ5500F's cpu?

Hmm, both processors are AM3 Socket Processors, which means that you should not have any problems installing the processors at all.

However, when you take out the processor you need to clean off the original thermal paste from the processor and heat-sync. A bottle of isopropyl alcohol or a processor cleaning solution. (Such as: Arctic Silver Arcticlean Thermal Material Remover)

You will also need new thermal paste. This is required, your processor will die without it. I also recommend Arctic Silver 5 for thermal paste. When applying thermal paste, only use a small pea shaped dot of it in the center of the processor. Then set the heat-sync ontop again.

Here is a really good video for installing a new processor:

Good Luck! Also don't worry too much about installing a processor. It isn't going to break insanely easily. Just watch out for the pins since you are using an AMD CPU.

Edit: You probably don't NEED a new power supply. However, if it were me I would get one. It will make your PC last much MUCH longer. I recommend:

Edit: Edit: Make sure you have the latest BIOS for your Motherboard too. (This isn't 100% necessary, but it makes sure that you have the most amount of processors supported.) Once again Good Luck!

Assuming the processor isn’t soldered onto the board, then yes it is possible. But if the processor is soldered onto the motherboard, you’d be much better to simple leave it as is and if you REALLY need a higher performing processor, buy a new set up.If the processor isn’t soldered on, your main concerns would be ensuring the processor you wish to replace it with is compatible with the motherboard. So before even removing the processor and opting to replace it with something else, you’ll want to research the motherboard and ensure that the processor you want to install is compatible. I’d advise you triple check, then check again before you start purchasing hardware that’s incompatible.Aside from that, be sure to apply your thermal paste before putting the system back together.
