Use the 'Conference' feature of Yahoo Messenger to 'talk' with each other while viewing each other's webcam. You both need headsets to be able to do this. Here is how to chat with your friends via conference.... When you are IM’ng with a friend, click the ‘Conference’ icon to open “Invite Contacts to Conference’ window. Click on the name of your contact shown on the ‘Invitation List’, then click ‘Invite’. OR On your Yahoo Messenger...click "Actions" > "Invite Conference". As soon as the dialogue box "Invite Contacts to a Conference" appears, click on the name of your friend you want to invite. He probably wants you to open up to him so that you guys can have an actual conversation face to face. I know it's hard because being judged and rejected sucks, but if he's seen you already and he's heard your voice already, you won't be showing him anything he hasn't seen before. Don't be nervous. When Yahoo messenger mobile video chat first came out I think it was a serious effort. It works across iPhone, PC and Android. Unfortunately there appears to be a problem updating the Mac desktop version to support it. Other mobile platforms are also still unsupported including WebOS, Blackberry and WP7.The cross platform nature of Yahoo Messenger makes it competitive with FaceTime. On the other hand Skype is also cross platform and has great brand recognition.
