How Can I Write A 2 Or 3 Sentance Speech

How do you write a 2 minute speech?

To write an effective two-minute speech requires in some ways more focused preparation than a much longer speech. Words have power, but in a very short speech you will be able to speak—at the most—only 300 words or fewer.Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address was a great, short speech. It consisted of only 10 sentences and approximately 270 words, depending of which of five versions you’re examining.I suggest reading Lincoln’s speech as one step in preparing what you have to say. Finally, much like expressions of humor, short speeches need to be pared to the bone. Get rid of weasel words, clichés, and big words, and focus rather on action words and words which resonate deeply within the hearts and minds of your audience.

How many sentences are in a two-minute speech?

It’s not how many sentences, it’s how many words. For a speech, a good rate ranges between 140 -160 words per minute (wpm). Higher than 160 wpm can be difficult for the listener to absorb what you’re saying.Your normal speaking rate is much too fast for a speech. A slower rate is preferable, one that is much slower than normal one-on-one conversation.Figure 280 to 300 words for a two-minute speech. Don’t rush it. Because you should give the speech at a pace that is much slower than your normal conversational speed, I suggest you rehearse a couple of times and ask someone to let you know if your delivery is understandable and well-paced.Good luck!Speech Rate - Is your speaking rate too fast, too slow, or just right?

How many sentences are there in one minute speech?

I agree work on your word count, however I work at around 120 words per minute or 100 if there is plenty of humour. You have to talk at a rate where everyone can understand your message. Often there are people with English as a second language, that need time to absorb and understand your message.Deafness used to be an old peoples disease but since the days of personal music technology and earphones, deafness can impact a lot earlier in life. People with poor hearing do not hear all the words, so during your speech they are playing “fill the gaps.” This is also a reason why your expressive gestures are so important. If you are using visuals, make sure the picture or graph reduces the words you need to say. There should be preferably no text or minimal text on the visuals. I was working with a Tech entrepreneur prepare a pitch for his software to monitor boxes of fruit, from the farm to the market. He was describing the number of boxes on a pallet and the number of pallets on each truck. We replaced the verbal description with a picture of a truck load of fruit boxes, 15 seconds saved. When I coach people with their pitches we always work on at least five seconds of pauses per minute. People don’t remember what you say, the remember how you made them feel. They only feel when there is silence. It is never about how many sentences you say in a minute. It is about what they have remembered from that minute that counts.

I want to write a two minute speech. How many characters do I need?

Hi there! I am a professional speaker and speech coach and work with many speakers and this does vary depending upon a person's rate of speech. The average is around 125 words per minute and so you could try working on around 250 words for your two minute speech to be on the safe side. Speech rates vary from 100 to 200 wpm (e.g. an auctioneer). A speaker presenting a speech with powerpoint or audiovisuals must slow down to around 100-120 wpm and if you're presenting a motivational piece you could speak up to as much as 160 wpm. As a rule of thumb speak slower if you want your audience to relax and faster when you want to increase the energy.  If you're a beginner, I'd recommend that you type your speech in 12 font Times New Roman and it should not exceed one and a half pages.  Once you've written your short speech, read at a relaxed and leisurely pace making sure that you take time to pause. Remember that when you're in front of an audience, they may laugh or applaud and allow for this. When you've written your speech, read it aloud, record and check your time. Trim or add to your speech accordingly. Rather be under time than over time. The best speakers always keep within their time limits. never speak over the time allotment. You won't be asked back. lol Good luck!ChantiCaptivating Speakers Program, Captivating Kids
