What is the importance of sociology of education to a teacher and why?

The importance of sociology of education to student teacher cannot be overemphasized. It exposes teachers to the fact that the school is a microcosm of the larger society.Furthermore, it teaches that all activities of the school are dictated by the societal needs at a point a time. The course also makes it known to teachers that the learning process does not end within the four walls of the school but extends to the child`s home and his or her interaction with the larger society. The importance of the course is endless and the knowledge of it is what a teacher needs to properly manage the interactive effects of the society on a child`s education.

What does the Celtic Triquesta stand for?

Greetings!

Earth Below Us-

Water Around Us-

Air Above Us-

The Gods, The Ancestors, The Spirits of Place.

Mind,
Body,
Soul.

The Three Aspects of the Soul.

"Three" is very important in Celtic Thought-The Celtic Triads are a good example:
The Triads

Concerning three things that hide: an open bag hides nothing, an open door hides little, an open person hides something.

Three errors not acknowledged: fear of an enemy, torment of love, and a jealous persons' evil suspicion of their mate.

Three possessions we value most take away pride from us: our money, our time, and our conscience.

Three things by nature cause their possessor to err: youth, prosperity, and ignorance.

Three things resemble each other: a bright sword which rusts from long staying in the scabbard, bright water which stinks from long standing, and wisdom which is dead from long disuse.

Three things not easy to check: the stream of a cataract, an arrow from a bow, and a rash tongue.

Three things hard to catch: a stag on the mountain, a fox in the wood, and the coin of the miserly scrooge.

There are three things each very like the other: an old blind horse playing the harp with his hoofs, a pig in a silk dress, and a merciless person prating about piety.

Why is Japanese and South Korean culture so appealing to Western teenagers?

I can’t speak for everyone, but I can speak for myself.I attended public school in Massachusetts from Kindergarten through high school. The curriculum covered the bare minimum about Korea; location, name, capital, national language, and population. We learned a tiny bit more about Japan, but it was only about their involvement in WWII in relationship to the US.I learned nothing about their culture, history, politics, entertainment, or language. So when I encountered K-POP and Japanese exchange students in college, not at the same time. I was interested. I was also a little ashamed, I consider myself to be a mindful person and I try my best to be compassionate to others. Yet, here I was with no idea how to interact with my new friends in a way that made them feel comfortable. I also couldn’t understand the meaning or background of this wonderful music that I had just found. I wanted to expand my knowledge and use it to help myself and others.I know many kids who become interested in different things because they want to fit in and be cool, or they want to stand out and be cool. But sometimes they just want to understand and be a better world citizen. Plus, this is the internet age, we have access to different people and cultures and forms of entertainment in ways that we didn’t have before. Kids are no longer just listening to grandma and grandpa’s old prejudices, they are researching and reaching out to people with more knowledge than them and learning. They are finding their own interests.Next time you encounter a kid learning about a different culture, people, language, or religion, don’t ask why. Ask how can I help them do this intelligently and compassionately.
