How Can My Family And I Make Our Idea Become Something Everyone Will Buy

What are some things money can't buy?

People are my passion, and I' very fortunate to  meet 100's of people every year, from every walk of life, success level, social status, nationality, education level, religion, and views on life. Among them are some very wealthy people, each of them as unique as their story on how they came to wealth. Below I'll describe their stories in one sentence for each one. Money in itself has no power, but it becomes powerful when a person makes a god out of it. When money becomes the center of ones universe, it makes the person do strange things, their entire living revolves around it, their shtick explaining what it does is somehow paranoid, but nevertheless very convincing. When others join that universe they get swept up in the centripetal force of it, and usually end up in a black hole. Here are some of my aquaintences:this person owns acres of resources rich land, but waits for the prices of land to raise to the maximum before selling, so lives in a home on wheels, getting by on food stampsthis person believed in getting a hefty inheritance, so he never married, never had children so he wouldn't have to share his money with them. In the last 20 years of his life he owned one outfit, lived on hand outs from others, the house was a shack, and he died without any inheritancethis person grew up in an a house the size of a shed, later in life made oodles of money, lived like a king, later in life got into drugs and lost it allthis person made his fortune playing sports, invested wisely, is known worldwide for his generous heartthis person was born into money, never worked a day in his life, thinks he is the most miserable man that ever lived, because has no real friends, only people who love him when he treats them to material things they themselves can't/won't buyI'd like to answer the question with a little twist, the perception of the people who have all the money in the world, but are still lacking something. So here it is:money is not a substitute for a ugly charactermoney can't buy true friendshipsmoney can't buy sincere love/affectionmoney can't buy common senseor cultureor mannersor erase bad personal habitsor respector make someone truly like youCheers!Angie

How can we change the tax code to ease the burden on our families and promote growth and innovation?

Make it easier to understand and comply. It shouldn't take a college degree in accountancy and tax law to do one's own taxes. We are a simple family with no rental income, few investments, etc., and yet it is an incredible mental burden to do our own taxes. The legal language and myriad of deductions, exemptions, and exceptions are, frankly, ridiculous. Without so many rules and regulations, taxes would be easier and people couldn't cheat so much, either. And the IRS and state revenue departments wouldn't have to spend so much manpower catching cheaters.

Can you really buy happiness with money?

I don't believe you can either. Money can take away some stress, which will make you a little bit happier, but true happiness comes from your heart, not your wallet.

What should one do to achieve something big in life, like travel around the world, earn a 7-digit salary, buy an island, etc.? I have watched The Secret over 5 times and tried meditating, but I couldn't decide anything for myself.

Future mother in law won't buy from wedding registry!?

I need to know what to do. My future mother in law won’t buy from the wedding registry and she keeps asking what she should get us and that she has no idea. I am gracious of any gift she gives us, don’t get me wrong, but if she does buy us a gift I would like it to be from the registry. My fiancé and I have spent hours picking out certain items we both like. The registry has all price ranges…items that are $1.95 to well over $500 (the dyson animal vac!) She is asking my fiancé and me what color our kitchen will be. I told her that I don’t know and that we won’t know until after decorating the house we are building. Her sense of style is completely different from mine and I would feel obligated to decorate with the gift she gives us. How do I handle this situation?

Do you think bridal showers are lame?

I agree with Nox - you sound very bitter. A bride has nothing to do with the shower, people throw them FOR her. She registered for things that she likes to give people an idea. If you don't want to go, don't. But I bet you'll be singing a different tune if you ever marry.

I didn't want one, but someone is throwing me one so I registered. No one is obligated to pick anything from my registry but it's there for the convenience of others. Otherwise, you would end up with four toasters, 2 different plate sets, etc.

How do I convince my boyfriend it's a good idea to be a stripper?

I want to be a stripper because my boyfriend owns his own business that has been supporting our family, and we are in need of more income. I know the money is SO good and the hours are few, so I can still take care of the baby and not have him in day care. I know I COULD be a stripper.. I have the body for it, but honestly it's also something I've wanted to do since I was a little girl. It's really embarassing to think that, but it's true. My boyfriend doesn't want me to do it because he says that I am all his and I shouldn't be showing my goodies to other dudes for money. I tell him that I think it would be fun and exciting to get dressed up and sexy for work, and the money is SOOO good! I also would feel empowered by taking money from rich men (we live in Boston). I have a real career that I kind of put aside when we had the baby, but I get so excited thinking about the possibilities and my boyfriend gets so sad when we talk about it.

We could use the money I make to invest in his business, buy a new car, pay for our wedding, or save to buy a house. We are very broke right now!!

What should I do?
